Having contacted ABTA in relation to a deposit dispute with the Travel Agent I found the service fit for purpose. The service was straight forward and easy to deal with. I would definitely recommend their services for a professional over view of a decision that you are not entirely satisfied with. The system is easy to update and forward messages and documentation. ABTA also keep you updated to the current situation

Having been referred to ABTA by the travel company I was dealing with when they declined to assist me, I thought why not give it a go, and I am really pleased that I did.
Having booked a cruise and paid a deposit we sadly had to cancel due to my wife having to undergo a series of chemotherapy sessions. The cruise was in the middle of this treatment and with her immune system lowered a cruise ship was not the best environment to expose her to. The cruise company declined a refund for the deposit, referring us to our travel insurers. Out of principal I decided to challenge this as although we did have comprehensive travel insurance, having given the cruise company 6 months notice of the cancellation, I felt they had little if any exposure to costs at this point and plenty of time to reallocate the cabin. But despite my efforts it remained a no, their continued stance was go to your insurers or refer it to ABTA if you are not happy. I was not happy with the outcome, so I referred it to ABTA, and after a representation from them and a few messages back and forth, a good resolution was agreed with the cruise operator. Cancelling the cruise was the last thing we wanted to have to do, but the circumstances dictated that we had to. I therefore thank ABTA for taking up the case and for the cruise operators flexibility on this occasion.

ABTA quickly sorted out the problem I had with Kuoni and after my initial approach nothing else was needed from me.

Asked ABTA for help with a case on retireving a full deposit back from a company. Company rang to offer full refund as a result. Quick to make contact and website is easy to use.

Excellent service and so easy to get a complaint resolved if you don’t like confronting companies this is great as they do it for you

Pointless waste of time, well advertised telling everyone how your safe using these travel companies who are ABTA regulated but it’s totally irrelevant, all comes down to friendships that have clearly been made between them and travel company, no reasoning, and travel companies are specialists in the ABTA company working knowing how to stop claim

I was forced to raise a dispute against a travel provider for a blatant mis-selling issue, logging it online with ABTA regarding P&O case reference CAS-768667-W9K2 before the company even told me to. Weeks later, I have received absolutely zero response, update, or acknowledgment.
I have even emailed Paul Ludlow (President of Carnival/P&O) more than once to get this escalation sorted, but it has been met with total silence. I would prefer to speak to a human to get this resolved, but I am refused basic customer service unless I pay premium phone rates to ABTA. They deliberately make communication as difficult as possible, so they don't have to deal with how poorly they are performing.
The online system is a black hole. No communication, no tracking, and zero accountability. ABTA is completely failing consumers who need support against rogue travel brands.
After receiving a response from ABTA - I gave them my case ref and booking number for P and O as I have heard nothing from ABTA after raising an official form on the website and received no formal response or case ref. which is why they cant find anything and yet still they want me to go through the same process on line again rather than reaching out and having a proper conversation human to human. This is why customer service is at an all time low and people lose faith. ABTA please contact me and speak to me and please stop wasting my time filling in another form that you ignored the first time around.

We heard back from ABTA within 24 hours of raising our dispute and the matter was dealt with to our satisfaction within a week.

I had been in discussions for over a month with the company trying to reach a satisfactory outcome. After reaching the end of negotiations with no conclusion I contacted ABTA and within a week was approached by the company in question and offered full compensation. I had a problem with my hotel I went to Travel company with all the evidence photos ect but they didn't want to know. What an excellent service, helped me throughout the whole process, this is the first time I have ever had to use ABTA for a holiday complaint.

I had a dispute with a holiday company that dragged on for months without reaching a satisfactory conclusion for either party. I contacted ABTA who put me in touch with Charles for the mediation process to begin via phone call on a specified date and time. Charles was informative, helpful and friendly to talk to and a settlement was agreed between myself and the holiday company in a timely manner. Much easier and quicker than the arbitration process or going to Court. I would definitely recommend this route.

Having tried to resolve an issue with TUI and claim for an upgrade that I didn't receive, I contacted ABTA. Did the whole thing online - really easy - and received a refund from TUI after a couple of days. HIghly recommend if you can't get a satisfactory response from your travel company.
