Family Holiday
Our family holiday to Benidorm with Jet2 was a mixed experience, with both highs and some areas for improvement. The flight out was smooth, and the pre-ordered chicken dinner for my son was hot, tasty, and hit the spot. The cabin crew were friendly and professional, making the journey enjoyable.
Unfortunately, our welcome at Alicante was disappointing. The Jet2 representative seemed uninterested and didn’t greet us with much warmth. We received our welcome pack and transport card, but there was definitely a lack of friendliness. Fortunately, the coach was ready, and we soon headed to our hotel, though we were the last stop at Hotel Mediterano.
We met our resort rep Jessica on Wednesday, who was great. She was helpful, approachable, and had a wonderful sense of humor. The hotel was good value, but our trip took a challenging turn when my mum had a fall. We reached out to Jet2 through WhatsApp for assistance, and while they responded quickly, the follow-up communication was lacking. Although they guided us on where to seek medical help, getting in touch with a local rep was slow, and it seemed like their schedule might delay assistance for days. This was frustrating, but the hotel staff stepped in and helped us find medical support.
For our return, I requested special assistance for my mum, which Jet2 arranged quickly via WhatsApp. The special assistance service at Alicante airport was excellent, although it was slower and less efficient once back in the UK.
Our flight home was on a 7-year-old 737, which was well-maintained, and the crew once again provided great service. The flight ran on time, and we even landed ahead of schedule.
Overall, I would recommend Jet2 for their flights, some friendly staff, and efficiency. However, if you need assistance overseas, there’s definitely room for improvement in communication and support from the local rep team.
