Mismanagement company

Mismanagement company. The only thing that they will tend to in a reasonable way is service charge demands. Don’t expect anything else to get any attention.

Eg 1 - there is a known defect where the sink wasn’t installed properly and it falls in. Reported in March - in Dec they started investigating a complaint and still no attention to the actual issue.

Eg 2 - the lift went out in our 4 storey building. It was reported on the 18 Dec - on 23 Dec the status was updated to pending appointment” meanwhile anyone who can’t use stairs is stuck in their flat

Complete shambles - avoid.

Avoid - Delivery and returns not set up well for a seller of quality sports gear

Trying to buy walking gear for my family, I’ll end up paying £68+ in delivery and returns fees - wiping out any saving on price of the goods.

Unless you are replacing something you know fits, my advice is to stick with the big names like Ellis Brigham and Cotswold who are set up professionally for what they sell.

Sportsshoes.com sell high value items that need to be tried and often don’t fit like hiking clothes and boots, but their delivery and returns approach doesn’t facilitate this.

£5 per order for delivery promotes ordering multiple sizes. You are warned that there is a fee for returns, but I’ve never had such a hassle actually getting it done. There is not sufficient information provided up front on their limits and limitations on returns and the hassle and cost is ultimately passed on to you.

I haven’t been able to return a single order using their portal because they haven’t arranged a high enough insurance to cover the types of stuff they sell. Eg to return 2 pairs of mid priced hiking boots that don’t fit my family, exceeds their limit and you have to call up to return and pay £12 per order for a high value DPD return.

Many basic practical things missing - eg being able to amend an order after it’s placed is not possible; they can’t accept 2 order returns in the same box, etc -, lacking pragmatism and poorly thought out approach for the industry they are in.

This IS a legitimate website with good prices, but they have a seriously flawed operating model for buying quality sport gear, which ultimately hurts the customer.

For returns, our standard insurance covers items valued up to £300. For items above this value, we do have alternative courier options available to ensure that we can step in if anything goes wrong during transit. This is to protect both our customers and the items themselves, and we apologise if this wasn’t made clear upfront — it is part of our policy to ensure the safety and security of higher-value returns.

We appreciate your feedback regarding multiple returns in a single box and amending orders — these are areas we continue to review and improve where possible. Your comments are extremely valuable in helping us identify where our processes can better meet the expectations of customers purchasing higher-value sports gear.

Thank you again for your honesty and for acknowledging that we offer good prices, despite the challenges you experienced. We’re committed to improving our service and hope to make the returns process as smooth and transparent as possible in the future.

Suspicious and unreasonable merchant with illegal policies.

Merchant sold defective batteries and would not refund them willingly so I have raised a claim through Visa. They hid behind policies that are illegal in the UK. instead of rectifying the issue immediately, they asked me to buy additional equipment to evidence the fault despite irrefutable video evidence being provided. Suspicious and unreasonable merchant with illegal policies.

Do not trust this cowboy outfit

Do not trust this cowboy outfit. I was unfortunate enough to have rented a property with them and their incompetence and unprofessional behaviour has caused me:

1) cost of £280+ at check out as they were unable to fulfill their commitments (evidence on email) to allow my cleaner re-entry.

2) stress of chasing them constantly and re-explaining their mistakes to them

3) time - I vacated the property on 17 Jan and at 31 March my deposit is still held with them as they delay at every step at least a week.

Mistakes often happen especially during a lockdown, but the way chase evans has avoided acknowledging their mistakes and has passed the cost directly to me is frankly appalling. Truly unprofessional and incompetent and untrustworthy.

Unfortunately you may not get a choice to avoid them if you like a flat they list. My advice based on my experience is:

1. Assume they won’t reply until you have chased multiple times.
2. Don’t trust any of their staff - get everything in writing.
3. Even with evidence in writing, expect they will try to rip you off for their mistakes rather than bearing any cost
4. Be prepared for a traumatic experience.
5. Be ready to claim against them from the deposit protection, the ombudsman, and legal claims.

Great service

Great service!

Mistakes can happen - it’s how you deal with them that defines great service!

Just got a dishwasher with installation. Great price. I made a mistake on the order (ordered semi integrated instead of fully integrated) and only realised when the delivery arrived - they swapped it with no quibble.

Sunday delivery was very convenient to begin with, then the issue happened and they had the replacement out by Tuesday.

We installation engineers were friendly and knowledgable. All went well but they forgot to do a couple of cosmetic things - screw back in a panel and tighten the door spring.

I called AO to let them know and they refunded the a third of the delivery cost without quibble and were going to send a free engineer to resolve at my convenience ( the following Sunday).

As I said, mistakes can happen both sides - it’s how you deal with them that defines great service!

Ladder was due to arrive at 11:00, at 13:00 I'm still waiting. All he shops have shut so no-one I can speak to about this. Will never use this company again - hope you stop anyone else ruining their day!!!
