Terrible Experience!

I'm new to Charles Schwab, but my experience has been terrible. Here's why:

1. Communication - After I applied online for Checking and Brokerage accounts, I did not receive any confirmation of doing so. After a few days, I decided to call them, and they said the application was on hold, because they needed me to fill out the DocuSign version of the application. No one from Charles Schwab reached out to me to notify me that I needed to do this. I filled-out and submitted the DocuSign version of the application, and again, I did not hear back from Charles Schwab.

2. Inconsistency - My partner also applied for the Checking and Brokerage accounts at the same time. However his application was approved, but again, he did not receive a confirmation of any kind from Charles Schwab.

3. Zelle - We couldn't get Zelle to work. We called Charles Schwab, and they asked us to try again, later in the day. We followed their instructions, and we were still unable to use Zelle. After a few days, my partner tried to log into his account to see what's going on, only to learn that his account was LOCKED! He called Charles Schwab immediately and learned that his account was locked due to potential fraud concerns. Charles Schwab ask him to visit a physical Charles Schwab branch to present a photo ID and 2 recent utility bills. Of course this request was completely INCONVENIENT, but we had no choice. We did as requested; however, my partner's account is still LOCKED, and his funds are still FROZEN. This is UNACCEPTABLE!

I am highly disappointed with our experience with Charles Schwab. You get one change to make a first impression, and Charles Schwab has failed on multiple accounts. As such, I can NOT recommend this company.
