I provided a few details about an empty property and the company quickly confirmed by email that it was eligible for the scheme. Voucher received a few days later. Great service.

An obvious scam. I gave them details of a house which was vacant for many years. Within days a Sold sign was up. When I enquired about my fee I was told that they had nothing to do with the purchase. A blatant lie.

I’d walked past this property every day on the school run and always wondered about it. Local legend had it that the previous owner had simply walked out of the house decades ago and it had stood empty ever since.

Then I came across You Spot Property and thought, why not give it a go? I submitted the details, not really expecting anything to come of it.

Well, it did.

They tracked down the property, went through the process and eventually managed to purchase it. I’m now receiving the 1% reward from the purchase price.

The whole thing has been genuine and straightforward, with good communication along the way. There’s also something really satisfying about seeing a house that’s been part of the local scenery, sitting empty for decades, finally getting the chance to be brought back into use.

So, from walking past it every day and wondering what its story was, to now receiving the 1% payout, I can confirm that You Spot Property really does work.

I heard about You Spot Property through Martin Lewis and the Money Saving Expert app. That gave me confidence straightaway that they were likely to be good people to work with and trustworthy.
The concept seemed very worthwhile, and what they ask of you is very simple. Just to help spot empty and disused properties; which they can then look into making useful again, and create homes instead of useless ugly derelict buildings in the community.
They also make charitable donations for each property purchased, which is a nice gesture and seems to match the company's ethics and way of working.
The online form is super easy to navigate and submit. Just a basic photograph of the property you've noticed, an address, and any extra information about it, if you have any, like the location and condition.
If the property isn't already in the company's database you receive your £20 shopping voucher.
It's literally that simple.
I didnt really expect anything, I just thought it was worth a little try.
I'm always out walking my dog, so it was no trouble to look out for empty buildings along the way.
I just sent them in, and within a week or so, I'd received two congratulations emails; which are lovely to see in your inbox; and the rewards vouchers followed shortly after that.
You even receive an email if the property you spotted wasn't quite right, and the reason why it wasnt. Which is a really good idea as it helps you to learn for next time.
I found one that wasn't suitable as it wasn't a residential property, it was an empty shop. So now i know not to send those ones in again.
And the emails are always grateful and encouraging. They make you feel like your contribution is welcomed and appreciated.
I can't rate them highly enough. Everything has been just as described or even better.
I understand that people may be unsure, but my experience has been great.
I've even got my Mum looking out now when she's out and about 😄.

I let the company kniow about a property near me that has been unoccupied for many years. I expected nothing. I got a £20 gift certifictae as a thank you within 3 weeks. Thank you. I hope the proerty gets sold to you one day.

I was absolutely skeptical about this process at first, it seemed like a great concept but with no way of knowing whether I would truly he the first to report a property (i.e. I could report, they could record it, and then just tell me someone else had reported it first) I could just be giving away contact information to scammers.

However, about a week after sending in details of an empty property I'd been walking past for weeks on the school route, I got an email confirming it met their criteria. And then, some five or six weeks later, I got my £20 Amazon gift card. I've since had a second reported property confirmed and waiting for my second gift card.

I have no idea if I'll ever get the 1% finder's fee from purchase of these properties, but hey, £40 is £40, and if they do get purchased and renovated, that's two more families owning their own home.

They are scammers. I tried to request non-conformity check of houses in italy (thats actually a his job to see if the house is LEGALLY available to sell) and double check in some properties because many of these cheapest house HAS DEBT/ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION in compare with the goverment documents, and if you ask that the onwer Iain is like "alpha male" talking and shut you down when you ask any question futher.
He is basically there's new GenZ who saw a tiktok video about to have easy money by intermediate house properties and doesnt know anything about european laws.
Avoid him to all costs.
BTW you can buy way cheaper houses in open market.

I spotted a property last September and applied for a voucher but didn’t receive it until March this year but did eventually receive it so all okay and very happy.

I have submitted 6 reports 4 of which weren't accepted for reasons which were made clear in their response. The last two fit their criteria so I am now £40 better off with the potential for more if they buy the properties. This seems an excellent way of getting derelict properties back into use.

Great idea to use the public to spot and then renovate millions of houses sitting empty in the UK. 14 days from spotting an empty property to getting a thank-you voucher from M&S. Hopefully the place thats been annoying neighbours will move on to sale and redevelopment in due course. Thanks

I enjoy looking around my local area to see if there is any property's that You Spot Property might be interested in.
When I do find one it is so easy to notify them online and if they are interested you get a reward for sending it up.
If they are not you get a nice email to say no not this time but keep on looking for another one.
So it is that easy, I will certainly keep on looking.

Empty property reported 23 Feb, response for more information 28th, and positive news 2nd Mar. Received the promised £20 Amazon gift card yesterday (27th), and successfully redeemed. Recommended and worthwhile national social housing campaign. Well done.

Local property has sat empty for years to the frustration of us. Reported it in and had a quick response to say it's been confirmed. £20 voucher received now waiting on next steps...this is such a great service

Spotted an empty property and reported it. Within a week I receuved confirmation that it hadnt been reported before and so id be eligible for the gift card and yhe following week I received the gift card.

A good scheme to help do something about all the local knowledge with empty houses which could be transformed into beautiful homes.

Great idea...have successfully spotted 2 properties and received my voucher.

Sent one picture and the address of the property. Emailed a month later to say my “spot” had met the criteria and received the gift card the next day. If nothing else comes of it, I certainly can’t complain at £20 for basically doing nothing.
