My Yoruba has become much better since starting YapTime. This product is something I’ve been searching for for a while. If your e hoping to improve your Yoruba skills or a beginner I highly recommend.

I've been doing lessons with Yaptime for about 4.5 months now and I really enjoy them. My tutor is wonderful - she makes sure the lessons feel fun and engaging, and she stays focused on where I am getting stuck or need to reinforce learning so that I am building a strong foundation. I am so much more confident with speaking Yoruba. The model of 10 minutes per day is a brilliant one. It reduces the pressure off of each lesson, has built in consistency and feels very managing alongside a busy life. Thank you, Yaptime!

Finally invested time and money into learning Igbo properly! A new approach to learning but super effective, I feel like I’ve grasped the language in way I wasn’t before.

I’ve tried lots of different ways to learn Igbo but this one has been amazing for me. Getting called once a day for ten minutes is perfect - it can always fit into my day and it feels like having an accountability partner. Perfect if you sometimes struggle to build your own self-learning routine and want to learn with a teacher in a way that isn’t just alphabet, grammar drills, or starting out immediately with learning tones you can’t even hear yet which can be very demotivating!

For the first time in my life, I’m finally learning Igbo. It has always been on my wish list but I kept putting it off because I didn’t have the time or the bandwidth to fit a structured program into my life, mostly because when I think of a “course” or “lesson”, it’s usually a painful association with a loss of a 30-minute or 1-hour block of time that I simply don’t have as a full-time mother with 4 kids and other endeavors. This solved my problem. Andrew designed a revolutionary program that helps me build language skills in my parent’s native tongue without having to spend a sabbatical in my village and capitalizes on the idea that daily incremental progress is what builds lasting success. We all have 10 minutes and I’m spending mine wisely.

I've been using YapTime to improve and learn more Yoruba. It's easy and flexible as you can book sessions around your availability. My sisters are now also using YapTime.

The lessons have been great my teacher Kemi is so encouraging and I can see the progress I’ve made. I’ve done Yoruba lessons before the more traditional way (one hour a week) and have never gotten this far in terms of speaking and reading ability. Also customer service is great, if you have any problems they are very responsive. I’m very glad I tried this.

I thoroughly enjoyed using Yaptime to learn Yoruba. My instructor, Adebamike, was very hands on. She challenged and encouraged me. I've already recommended Yaptime to my family and friends. Prompt and supportive Igbo tuition from a local native speaker. Arranging sessions was easy, as was having them over WhatsApp. The follow on resources at the end of each session were really useful to help build my knowledge.

Learning a non European language is tricky. Many large commercial companies are focused on Romance languages or Arabic (Egyptian) or mandarin.

Yoruba is a language with significant emotional ties for me. My tutor Tolu is kind, creative and empathetic.

I’m fortunate to have Bola as my tutor—she’s incredibly patient, encouraging, and makes learning genuinely enjoyable. The consistency of the lessons is a big help, and the topics are thoughtfully planned and focused. At first, I felt a bit silly trying to pronounce certain words, but Bola has created a comfortable environment where I can try without feeling embarrassed. We do share a laugh at my expense sometimes, but that’s all part of the fun! :)

I have only positive things to say about my experience with YapTime. The methodology of learning a language for 10 minutes a day really helps you to etch words and phrases into your memory, and also caters to busy professionals with limited time during their day. My tutor had a great knowledge of the language and provided tangible resources to look over in my own time if I wanted to. She was very patient and made sure the pace was perfect for a complete beginner like me. I would highly recommend the service.
