Several negative experiences
Several negative experiences:
I bought 2 laptops with them.
1st laptop had several issues:
1. Keyboard did not work (spacebar). When I sent it back (shortly after I received it) they recognized the problem, but indicated I had to pay for a new one myself as I had opened the laptop to place my own hard drive in it.
2. When it was returned I found out the memory was faulty. I kept getting bluescreens randomly and a memory check did not pass. Additionally, the battery had an annoying beep to it. I sent it back and they indicated they needed my password to check it. When I refused that when had to send it up and down again (so I could put a new password with which I was OK for them to have it).
Then they failed to recognize the problem with the memory and send it back again. The problem with the battery they ignored. I bought and replaced the memory myself and the problems were gone.
3. The laptop was really ugly (aestetically), which was not obvious from the pictures on the website.
Issues with the second laptop
1. It arrived more then 1 month late. I received an additional free laptop sleeve (I already received one with the laptop). Both of them were way to big, so I ended up buying one myself.
2. After 2 years the screen had problems. A quarter of it was just random lines. I sent it back and they immediately indicated it would likely not be covered by warranty because it was likely an issue with the cable to the screen. They said they would ask for a quote and then leave it up to me if I wanted it repaired and that they would then sent it back after I had made the payment.
They sent it to the factory for repairs and it came back. The bill was approximately 100 euros, about no discussion was held prior to this. They also indicated the problem was caused by the adapter of which they indicated the voltage had been to high.
I paid the bill as they had readily indicated they would not sent it back if I did not. Also I asked if they could supply me with an appropriate adapter, for which I payed another approximately 50 euros. I had also asked them to sent me the "wrong" adapter back as well so we could go and complain to the company that sold us that adapter.
It turned out the adapter they had sent us had almost the same specs as the other one:
Theirs: 19.5v 6.15a
"Wrong" adapter: 18.5v 6.5a
Laptop requirement: 19v 4.2a
For those who not know, for a laptop it is important that the voltage is not to high (5% margin is still ok) and the amperage needs to be at least what the laptop needs (4.2a in this case), anything more is just not used.
Hence they made me pay for an adapter I did not need.
To top this all off I posted this review on feedbackcompany.com, whom then contacted me to validate the correctness of my feedback. I sent them supporting emails, to which they responded they do not consider any emails older than 3 months and because xnotebooks had indicated that the adapter was the problem they accepted that as truth and refused to publish my review. I then checked the feedbackcompany on trustpilot and found out that also this company is just a scam to support scammy companies with positive reviews (by just making it almost impossible to post negative reviews there). Feel free to check yourself.
So please don't put any value on the fact that Xnotebooks has a high rating on feedbackcompany.com
Edit 07-12-2021:
It does not stop here. They contacted Trustpilot to have this review removed. Trustpilot has asked me to supply evidence, which I kindly and elaborately did.
I suggest any readers to take this as an extra warning sing. Not all reviewers will be inclined to spent the time to supply such evidence and many will likely be removed. I already noticed 1 other negative review disappearing from here. As such, there are probably many more consumers with similar experiences that you won't be able to read here as a result of their cunning methods against negative reviews.
