Eine gescheiterte Installation hinterließ permanente Schäden an Windows.

Nach mehrtägigen Bemühungen nix besser geworden. Befürchte, dass ich um Neuinstallation nicht herumkomme.

Unverschämtheit, auf keinen Fall installieren.

Dann kam Zonealarm NG.
Nur Schrott; legte mir den Rechner samt Internet lahm.
Nach der Tiefen-Deinstallation wie von Wunderhand lief alles wieder.
Auf meine Zahlungsrückforderung weder von der englischsprachigen Seite, noch von dem deutschen Support eine Reaktion, geschweige denn eine Rückzahlung.
So läuft Kundendienst NG. Nie wieder!

Viele Jahre war ich begeistert von ZA, seit dem letzten "tollen" neuen Update hatte ich nur Probleme mit 3 meiner PCs, dabei habe ich für alle 3 ein bezahltes ABO für 2 Jahre - ich schenke ihnen den Rest - NIE MEHR - die vielen Stunden alles in Ordnung zu Bringen nach dem delete'n von diesem Mist den die sich da jetzt zusammen gebastelt haben - Was für unverschämte Eingriffe in meine Webaktivitäten - kanns hier gar nicht beschreiben - von wegen Next Generation - einfach nur Schrott der Mist - nie mehr ZoneAlarm

Unusable, locks up my mid-range PC

Using ZoneAlarm Pro Antivirus + Firewall since 16+ years. Reliable, easy to install and use. No dubious 'All inclusive application', but just a very reliable anti-virus and software-firewall program. Reneval is not automatic and prices are moderate. The App is using 326 MB RAM (unfortunately 32-bit), with no performance slow-downs.

Eine Software eines Sicherheitsunternehmens? Absolut daneben. Erst verlangsamt es nach Installation sofort merkbar den PC, vor allem Seitenaufrufe enden mit dem Popup "Seite reagiert nicht". So weit so gut, ist ja kostenlos, also deinstallieren und gut ist. Bis hier hätte man noch 3 oder 4 Sterne geben können, denn das Programm arbeitet ja, wenn auch langsam. Und jetzt kommt das, was gar nicht geht. Nach der Deinstallation bleibt ein Ordner "Checkpoint" mit mehreren Unterordnern, massenhaft DLLs und einigen exe Dateien übrig. Die werden über die Registry automatisch gestartet und arbeiten im Hintergrund. Die Verlangsamung bleibt nach Deinstallation komplett bestehen.Dieser Ordner lässt sich im Explorer auch nicht einfach löschen, da im Hintergrund Dateien daraus geöffnet sind. Man muss den PC im abgesicherten Modus hochfahren, dann starten diese Dateien nicht und man kann den Ordner löschen. Sicherheitshalber nachher noch die Registry wegen der dann fehlerhaften Pfade reinigen lassen, z.B. mit dem kostenlosen CC Cleaner. Dann ist alles wieder gut. Eigentlich gehört Zone Alarm bei den Verbraucherschützern angezeigt. Das sind klar unstatthafte Eigriffe in den privaten PC und eine Frechheit. Und absolute Antiwerbung für eine Firma, die eigentlich den PC schützen soll statt ihn zu beschädigen indem sie ihn unzulässig verlangsamt, auch noch nach der Deinstallation. Ich kann nur warnen, wer sich nicht etwas auskennt hat nachher einen dauerhaft langsamen PC.

In the beginning, Zonealarm was a very good firewall. However, it's grown into a monster writing thousands of temporary files in less than two weeks of use on a new laptop. The ability to control installed software, from companies that poke around in your computer, under the guise that they're giving you a 'better experience' is gone. These are two major issues that have brought me to dump Zone Alarm permanently.

Removed their software because it was slowing my pc. Now I cannot remove their Harmony folder from my pc or backup drive.

I received an auto renewal notice for my Anti Virus subscription today.
1) I never ever enable auto renewal
2) the links they gave to cancel the renewal were not direct and there was still additional navigation to a different URL to cancel the auto renewal.

Basically these are highly dubious business practices to retain their revenue. When did checkpoint become such a nefarious underhand company to deal with?

You can bet that the only reason I got the renewal notice was because under UK contract law, they are obliged to do so.

The CMA also state they should make it easy to cancel auto renewal, it wasn't, the link provided did not take me straight to where i needed to go, I had to navigate my way to another website entirely to do this.
Cheap dodgy practices means that I will never use them again.

If you currently use Zonealarm, i urge you to check the auto renewal status of your subscription and cancel it if you do not require it.
Like I said, I NEVER keep auto renewal enabled when I sign up to a subscription service, so how did that happen ..hmmmmmm

I have paid for the next generation product for up to5 machines. I have installed it on 2, I have installed it on a 3rd machine and it is showing a trial version. I have contacted Live Chat, that was as much use as a chocolate teacup. Problem not solved. I gave up in the end.

I tried Zonealarm free, didn't like it so I cancelled it. Since then I have had billing requests for an app I no longer use. I have contacted them about this and was assured that there would not be any contact with me. Imagine my surprise when I received yet another Email. I am really getting sick of this, so much so that I tried their online chat,then realized that I was going to get CHARGED for that as well.

I wanted to try and install the ZoneAlarm free version. They offered a free license for the ZoneAlarm Next Generation Antivirus (Beta version).
After installation, it takes more than 1GB of RAM memory, the disk is at 100% and I cannot do anything on the computer.
And this is impossible to uninstall. Some folders are left and CheckPoint SBA keeps running in the background and eating memorey/disk.
I tried with Revo or IObit: still some folders with dll than cannot be removed. What a nighmare !!!

Used to be a respected name for security stuff buy now it takes hold of your PC and hides parts of it making it nigh on impossible to remove even after using their 'Cleanup' tool.

Still interferes with browsing.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Used to be good. Surprise automated renewals for a product that doesn't even work. JUNK! RUN AWAY!

Nooit hier iets kopen, hun gebruiken automatisch renewal dus je moet dan zogenaamd steeds elk jaar opnieuw betalen voor die software licentie maar er is nergens een annulerings optie in de account te vinden, en als je hun erover contacteerd dan zeggen van okee is geannuleerd maar dan gaat hun tussenbedrijf die de betalingen int en regelt dus zorgen dat geld eraf gaat zodat je in een invoice komt te zitten en in discrediet!En nu heb ik daarmee een hoop gedoe en zo heel goed engels kan ik ook weer niet!Maar ik heb toen een eenmalige aanschaf licentie gekocht en nooit met automatisch vernieuwing!dus dit is oplichting!Hun en de de firma die het incasso gebeuren doet op basis van fraudulente automatische renewal licentie is crimineel!ik heb nooit een automatische vernieuwde licentie gekocht maar een eenmalige van 2jr voor 3 apparaten!

BE WARNED redirected allegedly by Mcafee to this site which resulted in me giving access to my computer .
All data downloaded.
Attempts were made to access my finances this a very dubious operation which Mcafee have been made aware of.

I was having problems with installing MacAfee then was pushed via them to this Zonealarms. . then was persuaded as they said my Router had been hacked. So i paid them £99 . then 2 months on . they email me saying my system needed updating . I reluctantly, let him in . Then he turned things off , making it look like I had issues . the bloke was so rude , had he been in my office !!!!!!. then he turned off my Windows licence . then he tried to con me into anther £219 for a Microsoft Windows licence , which 1 hr before was activated and ok . Total scam artists . Rude. scammers . I had to wipe it clean after, as they put key loggers on my system files so then I reported them to Microsoft & my internet provider. Please never ever use these con artists ever .

I have a high-end specs gaming desktop I use for work but nevertheless, ZA makes it suffer. I have used ZA since 2009, but this is becoming ridiculous.

UI design is super dated and hasn't been updated since 2012, despite users begging for years for optimisation and change.

Stay away!

a while ago i stupidly possibly ticked a box for auto-renew.
Can I get through to cancel... no way.
User name/password reset does not work.
I cannot find a way to block payment via Paypal.
Current "summer offers " are cheaper than renewal options.
A right nightmare of a company .
Have used Sophos without issue
