i have used it alongside my tomtom rider in a car

its better at finding specific company or shop names and the longer overall view allows better pre-planning

but...

the really stupid childish points system !!

this app is hosted and described by google who own it and will be utilising the data as there own ... as a community project ... each helping the other out with information about traffic jams and police presents which can mean incident or accident ahead ...

mind you the drivers not able to tell the difference between highways agency vehicles that guard you when broken down ( oh they dont carry any tools by the way ... im not a fan) and a police car makes it useless

meanwhile if you are stuck in an unexpected jam you can advice heavy traffic or really bad news like at a standstill ... and up pop free childish useless points !! ... and then suddenly if you adice too much that your at a standstill waze stops trusting your information and stops your points ie you giving useful information ... your sent to the naughty step for the rest of your journey .. so heaven forbid if you come across something really serious ... youre banned

ive informed waze of this ... and thats when ill agree the customer service team aren't worth diddly squat

so these days i just turn it off

which seems very un community to me and all over some ridiculous heroical points system

google being childish in a grown up world is quite sad dont you think ?

with barely any advertising ... the odd question pops up when stationary to block the screen view nicely so you are the price of a free lunch as in your data

Really excellent satnav. An absolute lifesaver this morning when it managed to find a route home despite the Cambridge Half-Marathon having closed many roads between me and my destination. Also, unlike Google Maps, it works on my Android phone!

Cette application est devenue totalement inefficace au fil du temps. Lors d’embouteillages qui peuvent se débloquer vous dévie sur des départementales aussi encombrées et sur lesquelles vous n’avez plus d’alternative. Résultats des temps de trajet qui se rallongent en permanence ! Aucune prévision de trafic. Poubelle

Depuis 2 ans déjà, Waze est beaucoup beaucoup moins performant qu'avant.
Dans 90% des cas, il propose un itinéraire qui ne correspond plus à la réalité du trafic.
Il indique très souvent des axes comme encombrés ou saturés alors que la circulation y est fluide ou très peu fréquentée.
Résultat, il vous propose un itinéraire beaucoup plus long voire encombré.
C'est très flagrant.
J'ai l'impression qu'il n'utilise plus les informations de trafic de la réalité ou alors il y a un gros bug dans la remontée automatique des informations renvoyées par chaque véhicule.
Depuis que Waze a été racheté par Google, son efficacité s'est très fortement dégradée.
ATTENTION, je n'en parle pas de soucis provenant de son utilisation massive qui expliquerait simplement un engorgement des trajets car beaucoup de gens l'utilisent, je parle D'ERREURS FLAGRANTES DE MAUVAISES INDICATIONS qui induisent alors une proposition d'itinéraire qui dans 90% des cas est mauvais car la route décrite comme encombrée ne l'est pas du tout.

I was a super user at the beggining when waze didnt have a lot of maps information, so i started exploring for them the streets that didnt existed in the app. my account had a lot of badges and i really enjoy using it. I had some years where I could not drive so i didnt use the app. when i came back to the app, the account was deleted and when contacting them, really never reply. Bad customer service and why they decided to delete such account. right now using it with another account you can notice that even Apple maps is better for navigation than waze.

can be suuuuuch a dumb app.. suddenly changes route and makes you go in circles and wastes your time.. then sometimes it works ok

Waze is absolutely superb.

To all the people saying it is snooping and that Google Maps is much safer: Waze is owned by Google.

It has a proactive community that updates with warnings of breakdowns, for example, that are causing delays.

Waze will automatically use this info to change your route, ensuring you avoid delays.

You receive warnings of police speed traps, too, which can be handy if you're running a bit late and need to step on it.

Total rubbish super snooper. Every time you use it it asks for more confidential data about you. None of which is required to find directions. The last one was my DOB...get stuffed waze. Soon deleted. Much better service on google maps and its free.

Nulzero une vrai m..... Il est conseillé il est conseillé de connaître sa route pour utiliser Waze car il fait traverser les villages alors qu'il y a des axes bien plus important je déconseille cette application nul nul nul

Appli routière nul en ville. Fais passer des voitures dans quartiers résidentiel ou à l'époque ces quartiers était tranquille. Maintenant se sont des autoroutes ces quartiers. A cause de cet appli routière.

Really really poor navigation app. Constantly sends me into terrible traffic issues causing huge delays. And this becomes even more frustrating when others I know travel the same journey but arrive at destination way ahead of me, simply because they have used a different navigation service.. Bye bye Waze..!!

Used this for a whole now but todya has enough as it takes you seriously wrong ways and tells you to it's the quickest. 2 hours on a journey that takes me 45 mins is wrong. I ditched it in the end as just taking me around the houses, so went my normal way or is be 3 hours getting home. Dont use avoid this app.

bonj a tous j utilise ctt apli depuis ds annee et j ai j amais vu wase faire autant d erreure en espace d une annee depuis que ces passés avec pare google les misse a joure son loing d etre a jours c est vraiment le gros brodel

Waze used to be really good. More recently, it has gotten me lost and sent me on wild goose chases. I still use it as my go-to GPS but I’m more likely to verify the route by using a different GPS app and comparing them.

If you want to ruin your car, get taken down tiny roads so narrow you have to bring your mirrors in, and there’s a grass mound in the middle of the road through such little use, pot holes and little more than a dirt track…

Use Waze.

I used it today and it took me 45 minutes to do 6 miles, Waze tried to take me down closed country roads, your arrival time then takes three times longer as it diverts you down more and more single track country lanes. Awful experience.

In fact all afternoon It took me on dreadful minor single track roads and I barely hit an A or B road, if I did it very soon turned me off down a single track road again. Every turn was worse and worse and it seemed like it was avoiding decent roads at any cost.

Waze routinely miscalculate the time to destination by an astounding 30%. It’s calculation is based on the traffic conditions at the destination at the time of departure rather than using easy to access data on what the traffic pattern is historically along the way to the destination at the time your car will be there. For example, every Sunday afternoon the time of arrival to Manhattan is calculated based on the time of departure, rather than taking into account the traffic jam up that occurs every Sunday late in the afternoon into the evening going into Manhattan. It also comes up with byzantine ways to avoid the traffic, which add 10 to 15 minutes to the time the trip would have taken if one had just stayed on the straight and narrow. It is a terrible app.

L’application indique un prix pour les péages sauf qu’on paye limite le double à chaque fois.

Waze n’actualise pas du tout les bouchons, ni les travaux ! Au début de la route, ça annonce aucuns bouchons puis 10’ après 1h30 pour travaux alors qu’ils étaient déjà présents. Aucune utilité

Je viens de faire 10 km de plus pour aller à 5mn du lieu que j'avais demandé. Bravo. Je me pose la question.. Garder cette appli où pas.

I like the app sometimes but there are times when it will take us off the beaten path and add lots of time to our trip ☹
