Service gets worse over time
I have been trading with this company a long time and the longer I have used them they have got worse. On previously orders, the wood didn't come dry as stipulated. I even took my own moisture test.
Recently, They tell you the items are in stock on website and take the money immediately. Then they say in their t&c’s that delivery will be between 2-5 working days. After 10 days you chase them up and they say that the order is on back delivery after telling you it is in stock. Then cannot guarantee when you will get in the future. Very poor service and a waste of time, when I could have received similar goods elsewhere. After such a long time going to them we have made the decision not to use this company again. In the end I cancelled the order and requested a refund. Order at your peril.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for being a long-standing customer.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your honest feedback. We understand your frustration regarding both the concerns you've raised about previous orders and the delay with your most recent order. We also recognise how disappointing it is to place an order for an item showing as available, only to later be advised that it is on backorder.
We strive to provide accurate stock information and a reliable service, and we sincerely apologise that we have fallen short of your expectations on this occasion. We completely understand your decision to cancel the order and request a refund, and we are sorry to have lost your confidence after your previous support of our business.
Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams as we continue working to improve our products, communication, and customer experience.

Kiln dried logs
The product is high quality and dependable. The delivery was well managed and done with no drama at all. Although the logs cost a lot, they last a long time so are good value for money.

Driver refused to deliver over a gravel…
Driver refused to deliver over a gravel driveway so this disabled female had to refuse the delivery as no one here to help move a half pallet of bagged logs. Company has now charged £42 to take it back - a third of the cost of the order. Having had many logs delivered over the years with no problem I was not expecting this. Kerbside delivery only needs to highlighted on the website not hidden in terms and conditions.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience and understand your frustration. We appreciate that, having successfully received log deliveries in the past, the failed delivery came as an unexpected disappointment.
Our deliveries are made on a kerbside basis, and unfortunately if the driver believes access conditions could pose a risk to safety or cause damage to equipment, they may be unable to complete the delivery. We understand this can be particularly frustrating when assistance is not available to move the goods from the delivery point.
We are sorry that the return charge has added to your dissatisfaction, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the visibility of our delivery terms. Comments such as yours are invaluable in helping us identify areas where we can improve both our communication and our service.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,

Why I will never order from Zebra Renewables again
This review has been updated as White Horse Energy ceased trading in September 2026. Now known as Zebra Renewables Ltd., this was the company who responded to my complaint. Perhaps that explains their total indifference to resolving the matter at hand.
Having ordered a full crate of oak logs based on the image shown on the (former) White Horse Energy website, I was extremely disappointed to discover upon delivery that the product I received was not as advertised. It appears that I was sent a crate of B Grade logs in place of the item I had ordered.
At least 40% of the logs were small offcuts of split branches. Some were mouldy and many were covered in moss. The grey colour of the cut surfaces of the wood indicated exposure to the elements, strongly suggesting that these logs had not been stored in a covered location.
When I attempted to resolve this matter with customer services, the response being received from Zebra Renewables, my concerns were entirely dismissed. Zebra Renewables did not acknowledge the problem I was reporting, even with clear photographic evidence and told me that the logs provided fulfilled the requisite criteria. I was even told that “smaller logs will burn more quickly”. Who knew?
The fact is that almost half of the delivery comprised very small pieces of poor quality wood. The refusal of Zebra Renewables Ltd to address my complaint in any way and their gaslighting of my concerns means that I will never again order product from this company.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression, Zebra Renewables.

We are very sorry to hear that your first experience with us did not meet your expectations. We understand how disappointing it must have been to receive a product that you felt did not match what was advertised, and we appreciate the concerns you raised regarding the size, condition, and quality of the logs supplied.
We are equally sorry that you felt your concerns were not fully acknowledged when you contacted our customer service team. We always aim to investigate and respond fairly to customer feedback, and we regret that our response left you feeling dissatisfied.
I would like the opportunity to personally review your case. If you could please email our customer service team with your order details and a copy of your review, I will look into the matter myself and come back to you directly with my findings.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment and frustration caused.

B grade wood worth it?
I've bought B grade wood before and its always been pretty good but my last delivery is definitely wood but its hard to describe it as logs!!
Its very dusty and full of dried leaves, so its been hanging around for a fair while. On the plus side its very dry, but because the pieces are so small it will burn very quickly.
It has made me seriously consider if I would buy B grade again just to save a few pounds!!

Thank you for your review and for your continued custom. We're sorry to hear that your latest delivery of B Grade logs did not meet your expectations.
While B Grade logs can vary in size and appearance, we appreciate your feedback regarding the amount of dust, debris and smaller pieces within the crate. We understand that this may not have represented the value and quality you've previously received from our B Grade products.
We're pleased to hear that the logs were suitably dry, but we're sorry that the overall contents have left you questioning whether you would purchase this product again. Customer feedback is invaluable, and your comments will be shared with our product team for review.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope we can restore your confidence in White Horse Energy in the future.
