Take photos before and after you’re finished with your holiday!!!!!!
Where do I even start? This isn’t coming from someone who didn’t enjoy the holiday this is coming from somebody that had their £200 safety deposit taken unjustly, I have been lied to by the manager Jon.
We got there on the 18th of August 2025 and we stayed until Friday, the 22nd of August 2025, we went with our two lovely children under three for my daughter‘s birthday. We enjoyed the stay but had a few issues whilst staying here! First off the draw under the cooker was so heavy that when it opened it smacked down onto my shin, (too heavy with no catch) then we didn’t have one of the outdoor sofa cushions, no tv remote back cover so the batteries were exposed not safe for lodges that are ‘family friendly’ These were things that were brought up with the team at reception and they were noted. The night before we left me and my partner were sat watching TV when we noticed a shadowing effect appear on the screen, we got up to inspect the problem as we thought it could’ve just been a loose wire at the back.. upon touching the screen, we noticed that it was severely hot, so we unplugged it completely. The next morning we turned the TV back on and the shadowing was still there, so I took photos so that we could show the receptionist when we were checking out. These photos were shown to the receptionist and the problem was explained. When we got home, we went about our normal lives… then on 27th August Wednesday my partner said that the £200 had gone from his account and been taken, so we called them on the Wednesday, they said I was better speaking to the manager and he wasn’t available, so I called again Thursday the same thing happened apparently he was out fixing things (the irony!!) Friday I called again and he was out of office again apparently fixing things!!! They said he was in office on the Saturday so that’s when I called again.. FINALLY got through to the manager Jon, to which he told me that he did try to contact us so we checked this call and we did notice the one missed call and a 7 second voicemail had been left, with no explanation of why he was calling!!! Which Jon had stated he had explained the problem on the voicemail (he hadn’t) he told me that there was apparently indentation marks on the screen and had apparently took photos of this evidence - (I’ve since repeatedly asked for these on an email which has been ignored!) despite me emailing multiple times trying to get my money back, because we didn’t break the tv we believe it was wear and tear as you can see from my photos that I will include. I inspected the TV before leaving and there wasn’t anything there! I’ve sent all of my evidence including the voicemail.
Jon basically told me that he tried to call multiple times to speak to us before taking the money, he called ONCE. I’ve expressed that I can also get evidence to prove to him of only one call from my phone network if he wants to keep lying about all the steps he had taken before taking our money!! They’ve given us NO CHANCE to talk, I haven’t had any email explaining the reason for the money being taken (as stated from one of his reception) they have stolen our £200 deposit. He is blatantly ignoring me now because I’ve shown him every little bit of evidence I had that there wasn’t an issue with any impact damage, the voicemail, the photos and he can’t even give me his evidence that he supposedly has. This has fraudulently been taken and I’m appalled to say the least!! We paid £783.42 for our 4 nights stay PLUS £200 deposit. I think they should be ashamed of themselves for their customer service & NO EVIDENCE BASED LIES. I’ve waited weeks and given Jon many many chances to email me back.
Please be careful when staying here - TAKE PHOTOS WHEN YOU GET THERE & WHEN YOU LEAVE. Absolutely shocking customer service. This in turn has ruined our family holiday. We will not be booking again.
