West End Dental - Porthmadog Arvostelua 

I saw Dr. Saumil yesterday for my first assessment and a filling, after damaging my tooth on the weekend.

I was anxious after not seeing a dentist for around ten months. At my first assessment, he immediately put me at ease, conducted some x-rays, and explained to me the issues I had with each individual tooth. He was incredibly friendly, didn’t judge me, or make me feel bad or ashamed about the condition of my teeth - and instead provided positive and useful information. I felt comfortable asking him questions about my teeth and dental care and left feeling educated. Dr. Saumil advised that I would need a filling to repair the damaged tooth. He also made me aware of the possibilities of root canal treatment or a crown, if the filling would not suffice to repair the damage.

I went to the reception to speak to Shannon and Rebecca, who were both lovely, and they were able to book me in for the filling a few hours later. This made me very happy as my damaged tooth was a major concern to me. They were both very friendly, informative, and happy to help.

I returned to the practice later on for the filling, again provided by Dr. Saumil. I tend to be a nervous patient, after having so many dental procedures in the past (6 extractions, 2 rounds of orthodontics, and I’ve lost count of fillings - approx. 20!). Past procedures at a different practice have been painful and somewhat traumatic on occasion.

Dr. Saumil understood, and when I asked for him to count down from three before administering the local anaesthetic he was happy to oblige. We then went for a scan in the room downstairs, where I had a good chat with his lovely assistant, Erin, who also made me feel at ease. Diolch Erin. :)

Throughout the procedure, Dr. Saumil spoke to me, ensuring that I was fully informed about what he was doing at each stage. He was very careful and I didn’t feel any pain whatsoever - I’m pretty sure I might have dozed off at some point! The filling itself only took around 20 minutes in total, which was amazing. Erin also did a wonderful job of making sure I was comfortable throughout. Dr. Saumil also informed me about eating and drinking afterwards and aftercare.

The best part - after leaving the practice I immediately had to drive to Bangor to pick up my partner from work and was in a bit of a rush as it was raining, so I didn’t have time to look at my newly repaired tooth. He actually had a look before I did, and told me that it was white! This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but for a 25 year old female, with black amalgam fillings in every tooth (except front ones) since the age of 12/13, this was huge. It’s restored that little bit of confidence in me - as not all of my teeth look horrible anymore, I’ve got one really pretty one now, and however small, it does make a difference :)

Dr. Saumil advised that I should see how it feels in two weeks time, which I will. However, I’m just so pleased with my experience and my lovely white tooth and I’m ever so grateful.

Friendly and helpful staff. Treatment explain and clear advise given.

Great service wasn't waiting long and did a good thorough job.

However COVID rules in a dental surgery is pretty stupid now. even hospitals are dropping the use of masks for staff, patience and visitors alike. but in a dentist where looking in to mouths is the done thing it's pretty pointless having patients in masks.

Staff are always incredibly friendly and polite, one of the main reasons I prefer this dentist to any I've ever been to.
Can be waiting a while for the appointment on occasion, but it's still expected with cleaning in-between with hygiene/covid procedures of course.
Always very clean by reception and waiting area.
Highly recommended dentist in Gwynedd area.

Toni Jones is the best hygienist I have ever had
(And I’ve had a few! )
She is though, direct and really cares.

I have changed my cleaning routine since seeing her and appreciate her method and honesty.

All the girls there are polite and helpful too.

This month I had an appointment to see the Dental Hygienist, T Jones. She was everything that I needed. Knowledgeable, supportive and patient, She was brilliant, she checked everything and she also explained exactly what my situation is with regard to any possible future dental requirements. My relief is immeasurable. A most heartfelt thank you to T. Jones.

Just want to say a massive thank you to Dr Khamar in porthmadog for helping me get over my fear of dentists. I had avoided the dentist for so long after a bad experience but thanks to all at the dentist I now feel happy to return, Dr Khamar made me feel so at ease and explained every single step to me before even coming near me. Thank you all again for your amazing support.

Saumil and his nurse explained all aspects of the procedure as we went along in a very calming and professional manner . This helped immensely with any anxiety I was feeling about having teeth extracted. The procedure was pain free !!! I left with a smile on my face !!

Went to this dentist after a horrid time at another dentist. The attitude was so different, they took their time, explained everything thoroughly and I left with my faith restored.

I’ve given a 4 Star review and I don’t want this to reflect on the dentist and hygienist they are both 10/10. However when you need to make an appointment it is difficult to get through to actually speak to someone,it’s a text conversation now and when you have a fear of dental work it’s essential to be able to talk and share your feelings. I’m saying this through personal experience and the Porthmadog Dentist really helped with my 27 year absence through fear and built up my confidence with one to one conversation .

I have had several fillings/treatments from Mr Khamar in Porthmadog, not once have I felt any discomfort, always made to feel at ease and completely pain free during/after. Can’t recommend the practice enough. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
