Extremely Poor Customer Service at Vodafone Reading Oracle
I visited the Vodafone store at the Reading Oracle on 10 November simply to convert my physical SIM to an eSIM — something that should be quick and straightforward. Instead, it turned into a five-day nightmare.
The moment I arrived, several staff members were playing with my phone rather than helping properly. They passed me to a new employee who clearly had very little training. She struggled to complete the process and had to keep asking her manager, yet no one came over to support her. I was told the eSIM would be activated within 24 hours. It wasn’t. The next day, I was told the same thing again.
When I returned on my third visit, I approached a staff member named Tyler for help. He responded rudely and told me he was “busy,” even though he was sitting on his phone using Snapchat. Thankfully, another lady eventually assisted me by giving me a spare SIM.
I also called Vodafone’s customer service five times, and every time the call was cut off with no follow-up. Only on the fifth day did a helpful lady named Rana finally resolve the issue — but by then I had already decided to leave Vodafone.
Overall, the Vodafone Reading Oracle store has unprofessional staff, poor training, and a complete lack of customer care. I strongly advise avoiding this branch if you expect proper service or support.

The retail assistant was very kind and helpful. I was needing to cancel a contract for my mum who has Alzheimer’s. Having had a phone call with customer service, where I couldn’t sort anything out, I was quite stressed, but the lady in store kept calm and helped me sort it all out.

No service, just excuses
I should have known that it's going to be a nightmare once I spent 4 hours on phone just to order my home broadband that has been canceled next day without anybody telling me.
Long story short: We moved on the 11th of September 2025, it's the 21st of October and we still have no broadband. The first activation date was postponed, then again, then again and again... Nobody ever reached out to me, I had to call them and spend 1 to 2 hours on the phone just to be told it's because of Openreach. But I signed up with Vodafone what have Vodafone done to resolve my issues? Nothing, just asking me to call them to spend 1 hour at minimum on the chat or phone (if it works at all) to tell me that the engineer appoitment has been postponed... I asked them to send a 5G router in the meantime and was happy to pay for the internet until they resolve the issue but they refused.
I read a review from a guy who waited 5 months for his broadband to be activated...is this a joke?! I would avoid them at all cost.

Barely civil bored and indifferent staff member
I went into the Vodafone store with a broken phone and I was allocated a staff member Raja. There was an opportunity to sell me a new phone or at least keep me on the Vodafone network. But unfortunately this gentleman was bored, indifferent and barely civil. I eventually had no choice but to cancel my contract with Vodafone., but I was told that I couldn’t do that in the store I would have to do it on the phone. When I said I can’t do it on my phone because my phone is broken, he shrugged his shoulders. The best thing about this transaction is the opportunity to leave Vodafone and never go back.. I am in business and I will take the opportunity to advise against using Vodafone whenever I can
