Urquhart Opticians Arvostelua 7

I have been a customer at Urquharts Galston for just over a year now , since my retina detached in my right eye. Luckily Katy caught it early and kept on the phone to the eye department in Ayr until she had arranged an emergency appointment. 2 days later I had my first operation to re-attach. Since then, I have had 3 further ops and several more clinic appointments. During this time, I have been a ‘regular’ at Bridge Street. I cannot speak highly enough about Katy, Jo and Carol, the warm welcome, friendly reception and professional attitude is a comfort in today’s fast lifestyle. Keep up the great work ladies!

Staff were nice but not genuine.
Only wanted a sale in the way of giving the customer what they wanted and needed.
I can only use one of the two pairs I bought.
Wish I hadn’t bothered. Waste of hundreds of pounds.

I had a bit of an emergency last weekend, and as instructed by the Macular Clinic set about finding a local optician as my regular practice is closed on Saturday afternoons.
The first opticians I approached had no optician on the premises, the second, part of a large franchise was fully booked and would not offer an appointment until Monday.
Slightly miffed, I called in to Urqharts 34 Portland Road, Kilmarnock. The staff were welcoming, polite, and helpful. Within twenty minutes, despite being fully booked,Alistair had examined my eye, diagnosed the problem, and provided the necessary prescription with the offer to follow up if the medication caused any ill effects.
Wonderful service.
PS, the meds did their job.

I had a routine eye test today and met Mary on reception and Andrew performed my eye test. I was so pleased with the warm professionalism from the team from start to finish. Mary was friendly and attentive and Andrew was very knowledgeable and put me at ease. Everything was explained clearly and I was able to ask questions and was given options. No pushy upsell for glasses etc.

Not that it impacts on an eye test, but the decor was also really lovely!

I will 100% be coming back here for all of my check ups and would definitely recommend. Thanks 🙂

Had been a customer for several years and had contacts as part of the “deal”. The contacts price increased 3 times in as many years. This ended up being approximately £50 per month. For that amount I was supplied with a 90 day provision every 4 months. So, for £600 annually , I received the above and an eye test every two years. I’m sure you can do the Math and yes, I’m no longer a customer.

As someone with problems with my eyes i went for a review today with amy strang and feeling quite uptight about it i should’nt have been amy put me right at ease so professional and informative and sympathetic she was excellent an absolute credit to the company could’nt rate her highly enough thanks amy

I have visited Andrew Mostyn (in Clarkston, Glasgow) for many years and though not near my home will keep travelling to get his excellent service. He also has the latest equipment available.
