    Staff were friendly enough been to plenty of different private scans before the scan was good don’t get me wrong but really disappointed in the heart beat bear only last 7/8 seconds where as other private scans I’ve been to last a lot longer I was expecting the same considering I was paying £130 got re booked as machine was broken that’s fair but overall not happy with the bear

    Disrespectful staff - appalling experience

    Absolutely horrible customer service and experience. This company has some obnoxious employees. Please avoid and book somewhere where you will be treated with respect and dignity. Both me and my husband are NHS healthcare workers and we were stunned by the mannerisms of staff here.

    I booked a private blood test and ultrasound with Ultrasound direct totalling to £280. Upon booking, the staff we spoke to sounded professional and helpful. However, since then our experience has been negative. My blood test was on 07/04/2026 at 5:45pm at the Manchester Stretford clinic (booking reference number BL-220257385). I arrived with my 3 year old and husband. I am a very friendly person, and so I tend to notice when someone else isn’t. Getting your bloods done privately, you expect the “healthcare professional” to atleast introduce themselves and smile. The employee (Shahla Bano) did not introduce herself, did not smile, she barely said anything to me and she did not look at or acknowledge my husband or son a single time during the entire appointment which I found extremely rude. Atleast say hello to my toddler? Shahla simply grunted/asked “which hand” as a way to ask which hand I recommend she take blood from. I said I don’t know which one is better, and asked if she would be taking blood from my hand? She didn’t bother to answer, just tapped my arm as a way of answering. She seemed hostile for no apparent reason. Perhaps she was tired or fed up but she made me feel very uncomfortable and that is not okay as I paid for that appointment and it is especially not okay in front of my young child. Shahla then proceeded to take blood and as someone who has had numerous blood tests, I know what to expect, but she wasn’t very good, she pushed the needle in quite hard and fast and so I flinched and moved back instinctively due to the pain. She then said “I’m sorry but you don’t need to move like that” in a stern and cold tone, as if she was telling me off for moving?? I then said “well I moved because it hurt” and she said yes I know but it can cause damage etc. I left feeling quite upset by her cold and rude demeanour. I only found out her name by calling the company afterwards and asking them. A bit of compassion goes a long way in healthcare guys.

    When I called Ultrasound Direct the following morning to chase the results, my experience was only worsened. I spoke to the most unbelievably obnoxious man I have ever come across. He didn’t introduce himself on the phone either so I do not know his name, but he sounded like an Asian man. There was a lot of background noise (a loud and clear conversation right next to the phone) so I said “sorry there’s a lot of background noise i’m struggling to hear”, and he said “well it’s not on my end there is no one here” in a very defensive and rude manner. I then said “erm okay, I just can’t hear you” and he said “it must be on your end”. I could hear a full on conversation and I have no idea why he lied about that and why he was so rude and ready to argue. I was so shocked by him, and he continued to go on to be very rude, “have you got a question or not”. I said I’ll call back and speak to someone else and he just said ok and put the phone down. An absolutely horrible man, hostile, confrontational and clearly not enjoying his job.

    When I called back, I spoke to a lady who was not much better. Me and my husband were appalled by her too. I had the phone call on loud speaker and I had just started my query and she said to me “we have a large volume of calls coming through right now, can you hurry up”. What kind of way is that to speak to a customer? Does this company vet their staff at all? Disgusting attitudes. I asked her to please not be like her colleague and explained the unpleasant interaction I had already experienced, and she did not comment on that at all, she did not care.

    As outlined, some staff members here are extremely rude. This is not what you need when you’re dealing with health issues. Compassion and professionalism is needed, not a bunch of people who sound and act like thugs?? I would never use this company again. The Bolton clinic also looked very run down and shabby. My ultrasound scan was again with Shahla Bano today and whilst she was better in this appointment for whatever reason, unfortunately the damage was already done with my experience the previous day and I felt anxious having her again.

    Most of all, I was appalled by the awful telephone interactions with two staff members on the morning of 08/04/2026 between 9:33am and 9:41am. I felt disrespected and almost bullied by those telephone interactions with the man and woman I spoke to. They should be trained in manners and professionalism.

    Wonderful experience and peace of mind…

    Wonderful experience and peace of mind at Stockton clinic thankyou. Having lost two family members to ovarian cancer and suffering with nasty pains and cramps my GP was dawdling about and slow to help. Managed to book transvaginal ultrasound online for the next day at a very reasonable cost for a check up on my lady mechanics....although it was slightly painful due to me already in pain everything looked normal and the cramps appeared to be due to excess wind!
    The team were wonderful .... all in all a very professional caring place to go if you are at all worried

    10/10 Amazing!!

    We went for our early viability scan at 7 weeks (although found out once there we are further along!) and Lauren at the Glasgow branch was amazing!

    I took my parents and husband with me as this is our first baby and the room is huge with comfortable seating for everyone and a large screen on the wall where you can literally see everything!

    Lauren was very thorough and informative and answered all our questions. Lauren also took the time to explain exactly what was on the screen, made sure both the baby and I were doing well and provided photos and printed information about the baby.

    It was a surreal experience and I would highly recommend! It was amazing to have peace of mind whilst waiting for the NHS 10 week appointment or 12 week scan especially when it’s your first baby and you want to know everything is ok!

    Wasted £85 absolute scam

    Paid £85 for a 4D bonding scan at Ultrasound Direct Liverpool and received no usable images. No refund offered and poor customer service throughout. I’d strongly advise going elsewhere.

    NHS visit

    Was a slight wait for my appointment as one of the Sonographer had called in sick, but another Sonographer came in on her day off and was lovely very apologetic for my appointment being late. She was very professional and thorough and explained everything, would recommend them 100%.

    Very disappointing experience at this…

    Very disappointing experience at this ultrasound clinic. I booked a 3D scan hoping to see my baby, but I left without seeing a single 3D image. The sonographer simply said my baby was “too difficult”, without making much effort to try again or help improve the situation.

    The welcome was far from warm and the whole appointment felt rushed and impersonal. I did not feel comfortable at all and the overall experience was very disappointing, especially for what should have been a special moment during pregnancy.

    I would definitely not recommend this clinic. If you are looking for quality pregnancy scans in Liverpool, I strongly recommend going to “Ultrasound Care” instead — the experience there is much more professional and pleasant.

    My partner and I recently attended an appointment at Ultrasound Direct, and I want to express our sincere gratitude to Hafsa and Sammi for the exceptional care they provided ! From the moment Hafsa greeted us at the door, she immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. She noticed how nervous I was and took the time to comfort both of us — something that often gets overlooked for partners during scans, but she made sure we both felt supported.
    During the scan, Hafsa and Sammi were incredibly professional, kind, and reassuring. They explained everything clearly, talked us through each step, and maintained my dignity and comfort throughout. When they noticed a possible abnormality, they handled the situation with such compassion. Even though the clinic was super busy, they took us to a quiet space, explained everything carefully, and made sure we understood the next steps.
    Hafsa went above and beyond by contacting our local Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and arranging for our NHS appointment to be brought forward. We left the clinic feeling informed, cared for, and genuinely grateful for their professionalism and empathy. Thank you, Hafsa and Sammi, for turning such a stressful moment into one where we felt heard, supported, and looked after - you’re truly an asset to the team 🙌🏼!!

    Both my partner and I had an incredible experience during our fertility journey. In April, I had a pelvic ultrasound conducted in Derby by Ben, and it was outstanding. He was informative, empathetic, and highly professional. Today, my partner underwent a test/scrotum scan. Although he was initially anxious, the service was again remarkable. The staff were kind and attentive, with Louise being particularly exceptional. She provided us with valuable insights from the scan, making the whole process reassuring and comprehensive.

    The best experience

    We were very nervous for our early viability scan due to a previous miscarriage but we were instantly put at ease with Jess who found our baby’s heartbeat immediately. Couldn’t fault the day, was perfect and everything we wanted it to be. They also send your pictures and videos to you for you to save on your phone plus physical pictures! The whole clinic itself is also very warm and welcoming if you are nervous. Highly recommended! We will definitely be going back for our 3d scan :)

    Very disappointed

    Very disappointed. Paid for a 3d scan, sonographer couldn’t get a decent picture, advised to rebook which I did. Same thing happened, sonographer only checked briefly & said I could get a refund. Contacted the company several times over the last few months with zero response. Really unprofessional, wouldn’t not use again or recommend.

    No detailed receipt provided, no response to follow-up


    I attended Ultrasound Direct in Birmingham for a private scan. While the scan itself was fine, the administrative handling afterward has been unacceptable.

    I was not provided with a proper detailed receipt or invoice. On the day of my appointment, I specifically asked for one and was told this was not possible due to the lack of a printer, and that the confirmation I received would be sufficient. My insurance company has since confirmed that it is not acceptable.

    I have contacted Ultrasound Direct to request a detailed receipt by email and have received no response. This has left me unable to submit my insurance claim.

    For a private medical provider, I expect clear communication and the ability to provide a basic invoice when requested. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing.

    Would not recommend US Direct Prestwich…

    Would not recommend US Direct Prestwich for a hand scan (or feet scan). The equipment is not of good enough standard. The probe used was of a very low frequency (ideal for looking at deep structures- not superficial). I attended as I was desperate for a written report I could provide to my GP to help my case and I put my trust in this centre. I working in medical imaging myself so when I saw the quality of the first scan I asked for a refund- I got this for the hand I did not want scanning. I still paid for the first. I said my worry was arthritis and she said 'I wouldn't have done a scan for arthritis' - I had rang that morning to explain the purpose of the scan and the receptionist rang me back before I booked to confirm the sonographer could do this and booked me a double slot to look at both hands. When I expressed my concerns she did refund me for the second hand. I lost my deposit for both, as well as the cost of the useless scan. I asked why she didn't have a hockey stick probe, or even high frequency probe and she said 'did you ask for one?'. I irony is I did ask for one, but an unsuspecting member of the public would not have. She also gave a lot of false reassurance throughout the scan which could be quite dangerous again to an unsuspecting member of the public who may decide that actually everything is okay if this health professional is saying it looks good, when for me everything was not okay. She also advised MRI as her findings were very non-specific but ultrasound should be just as good at examining the joints and tendons in the hands. I have emailed the manager of the site explaining that I do not think they should offer this scan with this equipment but this has been ignored both times with the response of 'the report outlines the findings'. The report did not provide any interpretation and was so descriptive my GP could not interpret it. This scan and report did not help my case at all, wasted my time and caused me a lot of stress in the way it has been handled since. I recommend Spire/ One Health ect instead, they are more expensive but properly equipped.

    Just lovely, and very professional

    I attended the Portsmouth branch of Ultrasound Direct and couldn't have had a nicer experience. I was extremely nervous but the sonographer completely put me at ease and was just lovely. The appointment wasn't rushed - quite the opposite. I have been to Window to the Womb and they just don't compare. I would never go anywhere else now.

    I’ve used ultrasound direct in…

    I’ve used ultrasound direct in Livingston for my past 4 pregnancies around 6 or 7 scans each pregnancy ,
    Due to high risk so growth, Gender and 4d scans and early pregnancy scans due to previous miscarriages I have always received a outstanding welcome , I normally see Jenny for my scans and she has been a credit too the company as well as the reception team even during my miscarriages they where nothing short of amazing I’m on my last and final baby and my last scan tomorrow for my little boy due on Christmas Day 2025 and it’s sad as they have been such a big part of my journey with my children over the last 8 years. I’m at the end of my child bearing journey and I can’t thank you all enough the team deserves so much recognition. Don’t ever hesitate to use them as you will not regret it

    AVOID

    Used this clinic before where the nurses couldn’t withdraw blood properly and I was severely bruised. This time around I was sent a confirmation with no address for Harley street. I called ahead of time to double check the address and then when I was in the clinic they knew who I was and the appointment time. Sat in the waiting room, called twice by the clinic and I said I was waiting- turns out after the second time they called said I was in the wrong clinic after they gave me the incorrect postcode and address over the phone!!!!! This has had a knock on effect with all my treatment and no one can tell me when I can be seen now. When I asked 10mins later she said I wouldn’t be seen as no appointments. They would have left me sat there all day!!!!No one wants to help or cares.
