I signed up for a tutor but he never showed up on zoom. Repeatedly contacted him and main platform with NO response. They took £30 and I got nothing. I was surprised as reviews good as was my first contact with the tutor. I wonder if it’s a scam? Reviews fake?

I had a Law tutor through this platform and they were not bad at all.

My Daughter needed help with maths and we decided to get her a Tutor...Best decision we ever made her confidence has increased her lesson attendance at school is 100 percent we struggled to even get her to a maths class it was a battle we had for far to long she always thought she was stupid and rubbish at maths shes not at all she just needed the extra support and confidence every week she is beaming after her tutor session she is actually enjoying her lessons!! Reliable gentle support. My daughter has missed so much college and had lost her confidence to do maths. Jake understands the pressure she feels and gives her confidence again. He is able to teach the whole A level syllabus responding at a moment’s notice to the topic that needs attention. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Agency offers good choice of tutors, however like other agencies, it needs to offer recording of lessons to parents/pupils to facilitate learning, I have asked agency, they have not replied to me yet.

Kristian delivered an excellent lesson for my son and daughter, who are currently preparing for their GCSEs. He took the time to understand their needs and put together a clear plan of topics to focus on going forward. The interactive whiteboard made everything easy to follow and was a really effective tool. I would highly recommend him!

We found a tutor quite quickly and Kasham has turned out to be a great fit. He is patient and my son responds well to his tuition. Meetings and methods of payment are efficiently set up, so no extra admin. We will probably use more of their services over the next 3 years.

Kiran has an excellent teaching style and has helped my son understand some difficult concepts. He guides the session very well and provides clear feedback outlining what to do next. We are very happy with his tutorial sessions.

Michael is an excellent tutor. He explains complex topics very clearly, making them so much easier to understand. He is very patient and always takes the time to make sure I fully understand before moving on. Our lessons always end with exam questions, which is really helpful for consolidating my knowledge and exam technique.

I appreciate the tutor’s pedagogical skills and the care and support that they provide to the student. The lessons are tailored to meet the needs of the student and the approach is very caring and supportive.

Cova is an excellent tutor who taliors her lessons to what I need and want to learn. She is extremely patient and is helping me build up my confidence with my spoken Spanish and a much better understanding of Spanish grammar.
I am taking a short break over the Christmas period and I am looking forward to coming back to my Spanish lessons with Cova early in the New Year.

have been working as a tutor for many years and have profiles on several platforms. TutorHunt is one of them – I originally set up my account around 2015/2016 and have taught students through it in the past.

More recently, I tried to reinstate my ability to teach via TutorHunt by updating my compliance: right-to-work and DBS. I submitted my right-to-work details back in May/June 2025, but my account sat in “pending review” for months. At the same time, I used TutorHunt’s recommended DBS route through their partner, Personnel Checks. That DBS application was later withdrawn because of an address issue with the provider’s system, and I was told I would have to pay again and start a new application. No DBS certificate was ever issued.

When I complained, I later discovered that TutorHunt had told their DBS partner that I was “not currently listed” as a tutor. That was very disappointing, because I do have a TutorHunt account and have been associated with the platform since around 2016. My profile appears inactive precisely because the compliance (right-to-work and DBS) has never been completed on their side – that is why I was trying to go through their process in the first place.

I also raised the matter with DBS. In their written response they confirmed that, in my case, the Registered Body’s internal processes “have not been effective”. Despite this, there was no meaningful support or protection for me as a tutor from TutorHunt when their chosen DBS route failed.
The result is that I have spent around two months unable to use my TutorHunt profile properly, lost the £61.50 fee for a DBS that never produced a certificate, and felt unsupported and unprotected by the platform and its partners.

This experience has shown me that this particular ecosystem (TutorHunt plus their chosen DBS partner) is working against me rather than helping me continue my tutoring. I have decided to take my teaching, and any future DBS applications, to other platforms and providers. I’m sharing this so other tutors can make an informed decision before relying on this route.

I do not wish to enter into further discussion about this – this review reflects my experience and I now consider the matter closed.

My daughter is very happy with her biology tutor Anna! Anna is always prepared, teaches with a great enthusiasm, and is very knowledgeable and always on time. My daughter really benefits from her lessons. The website works very well too.
