They have no flexibility. I only needed to change dates but would not let me do so .
Customer service is non existent
Will never book with them again and could never recommend them

I booked a hotel to Dubai in April 2026.
The pictures on trivago website showed it was on the beach with six swimming pools, spa treatments and various restaurants.

When I booked and paid for it the hotel I had actually booked was the same brand hotel but not on the beach but in the financial district with one roof top pool.

After many emails, all they kept saying was the hotel was not refundable as it was a late booking.

I understand that if they would’ve gave me the Hotel I actually booked but they didn’t. They give me a different one. They still have not got back to me regarding any refund would never book with these again crooks

Used Trivalgo to search for aggregated hotel prices for my stay in Toronto. Found a good rate if booking direct through them so I did that. However it is not booking with Travalgo but their agent Algotels.
When I researched this company they had very bad reviews of people arriving at their booked hotel only for there to be no reservation.
I looked at my credit card statement and they had taken my money and I got a booking confirmation so I phoned the hotel directly to check, and they had no reservation...in fact they found one but they said it was cancelled by Algotels!
Thankfully I checked before flying round the world and arriving at the hotel. Now I've got a refund and won't be booking through Trivalgo again. Obviously a scam company.

Trivago is a 'middle man'

We went to use Trivago to book 5 nights at the Ibis Brussels where they quoted us £873 on the initial page but when we clicked on it to pay, the price leapt to over £1400!

Hence, we have no intention of using this company despite how many times Jurgen Klopp advertises it.

Awful customer service.

They booked the wrong room type for us. Our booking confirmation said "standard room bed and breakfast" which we knew at this hotel came with spa access.

However when I called the hotel they said trivago had booked us a two bedroom cottage which was self catering with no spa access.

When I called trivago they said they'd look into it and message us. It took over a day to get back to us (which was then the night before we were due to leave) just to say that they couldn't cancel it. But completely ignored my complaint and no attempt to resolve the issue. I messaged back and they've ignored all messages. Horrendous customer service.

Thankfully the hotel managed to find a spare room even though they were sold out. Wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole.

I used the click through option to book a hotel that was showing as Chester on Trivago. It was only after I had paid on the other site that the receipt showed the address of the hotel which was several hours away from Chester. Thankfully I could cancel within 1 hour of booking for free and I spotted it quickly. Do not trust the Trivago map. One of the click through websites is actually only selling hotel rooms in America. Glad I didn’t use that site!

I went to hadley bowling green Inn for the weekend and they went out of there way being disabled they gave me a room on ground floor food was amazing and the staff were very helpful and friendly I will definitely be going back soon

Miss sold an hotel, the star rating was way above what it should be. Asked for a refund, impossible to talk to someone...never again..

If I could give a minus rating I would, went through the whole booking process and on completing the booking their system booked me into the wrong hotel and wrong city. Despite providing screenshots as evidence they claimed it was my fault, they were unwilling to change my booked to the hotel I wanted and refused to refund the money. Will be taking this further. They are absolutely useless

Not going to waste my time. Please do not use trivago to book any accommodation. But don't take my word for it. Go and use trivago and find out for yourself.

I used Trivago for my last two holiday bookings and found better deals. The advantage is that it compares prices across different websites.

The only downside I encountered is that sometimes when you click a deal, it redirects you to another website and the lower price is no longer available. This happened to me a couple of times—I ended up registering on the other site only to find the price gone, which is time-consuming. Otherwise, my experience has been quite good.

This company can improve by telling the truth.

Booked a hotel at Heathrow through Trivago. Received confirmation email and the money was taken from my account. I subsequently turned up to the hotel to find no booking has been made. I have now been on hold for 31 minutes with Trivago trying to get my money back.

Do not use this site!!

Unless you have a bank account like Klopp this is rubbish...
you get the best deal booking Direct with hotel , Trivargo gets loads of poor hotels as a comparison to the one you pick so the extra cost looks better than what you seen 2 weeks ago when flicking through ... my opinion

"ONLY" - two hundred and ten pounds??!! Only?? Just a couple of hundred quid - and this is said in the advert like this is a steal!
"Favourite site". In the current economic climate - who has a "favourite site"?? This suggests people are spending just £210 a night so regularly, they have a favourite site..
How about an advert for the real world and normal folk like me.

It is so out of touch I dont actually hear the Trivago deal.

Trivago is based on lies. They sucked me in with a "too good to be true" rate for a hotel I was looking at. When I clicked through it was available up until I went to pay then it said offer expired and promptly doubles the price. Once could be genuine but a week later they were doing the same again for the same hotel for the same dates, I tried again and surprise surprise the same thing happened. This experience will make me steer clear from now on.
