This is the worst value for money ever, i would have been better spending it on alien invasion insurance.
the devil is in the detail, notice periods and clever wording mean that when you really need the insurance to kick in, it doesn't, effectively leaving you in a mess but still paying the fees, there is always something, the search evidence is impossible to get right, any notice payments are taken in to account, just rubbish, when you complain they refer it to their own complaints department who guess what, find that they were not at fault, please put your money in a bank and hope its enough to see you through.

Trent Services are quick to reply to your emails if you have a query and need an explanation.
My claim from June was initially rejected, I then emailed my disappointment as I thought my claim was valid. This was only the 2nd claim I had made in 19 years. (Must admit the paperwork side was easier the 2nd time round). My disappointment was recorded as a complaint and trent services kept me upto date by email. After 6 weeks the decision was overturned, again trent services kept me updated by email with attached letters. And payment received within 3 working days.

Trent services my lifeline
Trent services have been a lifeline for me as I have gone through a terrible 12 months of illness where I had to undergo major surgery. I have not worked for 12 months and they paid me the whole time.
Whenever I had to speak to them they were very helpful and sympathetic- so pleased that I took out this insurance some 12 years ago.

Income protection policy
My income protection claim was handled professionally from start to finish. Throughout the 12 month claim period all queries were handled efficiently and in a timely manner including the monthly payments.

I have been with Trent for a number of years, when I unfortunately needed to make a claim they were very professional and respectful, after processing the claim I was paid without question and on time.

Big problem to make the initial claim…
Big problem to make the initial claim because my previous employer was insolvent and there was no-one to complete any paperwork on their side. Even after explaining this several times, the claim was delayed as you kept trying to contact my previous employer that didn't exist any more.
One payment also delayed as you incorrectly stated that my UC claim was closed when it wasn't. It was just that my entitlement was £0.
Otherwise OK and phone service was pretty good. Just try to understand that people rely on these payments and causing unnecessary delays has knock-on effects.

Fair and consistent process
Have always found the service to be fair, the process is easy enough to follow and you can always get support by phone if you require it, it is expensive now as my dog is older high excess plus 30% on top next time and a significant increase in the monthly bill, but it isn’t as expensive as some other insurances I’ve used before and unfortunately I have needed to use the service on a few occasions
Would recommend to others. Have a look and make up your own mind

From bad to worse
I complained about the way my claim was handled, and unsurprisingly it was rejected. The Operations Director Jane Ledamun on this forum asked me to forward her a copy, which I did plus my concerns at the corporate way they handled my complaint. I've yet, after two weeks to even receive acknowledgement of the email - if this is the Operations Director then it's a poor reflection of the company.

I had no issue in receiving my…
I had no issue in receiving my insurance cover. Just filling the online form - for emergency another form at the clinic needs filling and approval from your vet- and the contact the vet and it all happens.
My dog is 8 . No fully happy with the amount of cover- due to age, but all the other things are without a fault

Unemployment insurance cover
I paid for an unemployment insurance cover policy for over 20 years. When the crunch came and I lost my job, Trent did everything possible to avoid paying out on the scheme despite several reviews. I faced a choice of either resigning from my job (with a payout) or being told I would be sacked, I chose to resign and not impoverish my family to ensure I could pay the mortgage for a few months. According to Trent, I should have stayed and been sacked without payout risking homelessness for my family. They did everything they could to avoid paying out on a policy I took out in good faith for this very reason. Avoid this type of policy and Trent.
Post company response note-responding that I should contact your team to discuss is very disingenuous as you know I have asked for the case to be reviewed several times. All with the same outcome IE you will get nothing due to a clause in the policy. The cover should be renamed redundancy cover (under very limited circumstances) as the term unemployment clearly is not covered in numerous circumstances. Either way, having take out the policy in good faith and kept it going for over 20 years, I was left with zero cover once my job was lost. Unbelievably disappointing policy and service.
