Got scammed by hacked account, so did multiple others, trademe notified me the next day that account was comprised, not sure how long for but users email wasn't hacked only the trademe account. Asked trademe for details of the hacker and hack and they fail to provide. Essentially this site facilitates fraudulent and criminal behaviour by not updating security to provide protection to users. Likely a trademe database breach. Will not be trading on this platform again.

I have never sold or listed anything on Trade Me, only purchased items. Recently, I received an email from them accusing me of using multiple accounts, which left me confused and frustrated. This accusation felt unfair, as I haven't even engaged in selling. I can provide proof that I've only been a buyer, and I’ve received positive feedback from sellers.

However, I won’t be disputing this with them further. Instead, I’ll simply take my money elsewhere. Trade Me’s handling of this situation has raised serious concerns for me, and their customer service has been appalling.

My family also uses Trade Me, but we each have our own accounts and devices, so there's no overlap. I’m baffled by their email, and they’ve failed to provide any evidence to support their claims. If I'm just buying items, why would I need a second account? It doesn't add up.

Because of this unfair treatment, I will no longer be using Trade Me and will be spreading the word about my experience. I've seen numerous similar reviews about poor customer service, unresponsiveness, and unjust accusations. I encourage others to consider alternative platforms for buying and selling, as Trade Me has proven to be unreliable and untrustworthy. #BoycottTradeMe

Like most of the feedback about Trade Me, I have received upsetting and unfair treatment from Trade Me. I have started a petition on Change.org to bring T/M to heel and stop their rampant disregard for honest traders.

Trademe is the worst. Terrible users experience, diabolical support and outdated tech. And to top it off the fees are horrendous.

Time for a new player in this space.

They not only provide a platform that enables individuals to steal your money without facing any consequences, but they also protect the identity of these scammers, making it extremely difficult to recover your funds. It's time for eBay NZ to step up.

Hi Trust Pilot, Please start NEGATIVE STAR ratings as well, cos this site does not even deserves a SINGLE STAR. it is a nightmare to get anything sorted by their so called customer service team. They are totally biased. If you are a seller, you can be held to ransom any anytime even after a year and swiftly money debited from your account for absolutely no fault of yours. Super high selling fee. You have been warned. I am glad Facebook is killing Trade Me. Its karma and soon it will be dead due to their horrible attitude and unfair practices. I had 4000 listings on Trade Me. Now down to 40 as don't need them anymore and cant stand their unfairness towards sellers.

I pay thousands to trademe selling. I can't believe they've started showing full screen ads on their site as if they need that extra $0.10 .. diabolical. Corporate scoundrels. There is no challenging them either, not unless TM site was taken down and another erected in their place. They have the monopoly in NZ, yet have decided to treat their customers poorly and allow greed to get the better of them. A real let down for the country, TM is a huge part of NZ. You need to do better. Reduce your selling fees, integrate real customer support chat, remove full screen ads. That would be a good start.

Garbage,the instant pay system is rubbish. The trade me team are muppets, they emailed all of the people I was purchasing off not to deal with me due to me using a friend's visa at the time, over 3500 worth of purchases canceled for no reason, there arw way better apps to use these days,trade me used to be great, now it's run by muppets

I have been a TM user of over 20 years. I have 2 TM shops. I used to be super happy using it, now I am totally disolutioned and fed up.
1/ They are constantly "fixing" the site, but it was not broken but certainly is now. Their fixes and upgrades dont work properly making navigating the site very time consuming and frustrating. Many of the "fixes" that dont work have been broken for a number of years, TM is aware of the issues and either is unable to fix it or does not want to expend their techie time on it.
2/ Fees are now astronomical, for selling less, how does that work in a market place of supply and demand. I like many others are diverting a lot of their TM business to other selling sites and own websites to leave TM behind. Its more profitable this way and gaining more momentum away from tm.
3/ TM policy of isolating members from them with only robotic online contact is appaling. I spend over $40,000 year in fees with TM and cannot speak to anybody, talk about a business perpousously isolating the business from the customers, TM doing a magnificent job of that.

Trademe allow scammers and do nothing but protect them under there so called privacy laws/agreements shame on this company who make millions and allow this . I paid for the item showed proof it had not been delivered by the ever so reliable Aramax (b/s company again ) and that it had been lost . Lodged a dispute and all i got was ‘ we have got nowhere with the seller and exhausted all avenues to recover your money ‘ oh really ! Once i asked for the correspondence between trademe and the seller to see all avenues ! i got the ‘ oh we cannot as it is under the privacy law ‘ . Screw this company from now on you are criminals yourselves for shielding such behaviour . Your feed back system is ridiculous as you allow thieves to put negative feed back on innocent buyers who are left with nothing , again Shame on trademe

Disappointing resolution. I met the criteria of being reimbursed through their Buyer Protection policy if purchase was made via Ping. However, it recommends you to make a Disputes Claim. The cost to proceed in Disputes Court would outweigh the money lost in the first place. I feel like I've been scammed by both the scammer and Trademe.

When things go wrong with a Trademe trade there is almost no Customer Service or channels to resolve the issues in a timely or efficient way. A Buyer can bid ridiculous, unrealistically high amounts of dollars, then win the Auction, not pay, not communicate, not collect the goods and maybe get off with a negative review that means very little and doesnt stop this bad bidding behaviour.

Customer Service useless.
I got scammed because of their damn "no pick up available" option.
TradeMe should verify new accounts and remove that option that only benefits scams to rip people off.

This is the worst website to buy and sell items! Really easy for scams to open an account and start ripping people off. They think they are better than Marketplace but ended up being exactly the same.
The customer service centre is also useless, terrible service.

High fees, no support. Super hard to sell anything for a decent price. It was good when it started. Now it’s all about the $$. I sold more for free on fb marketplace. Just as many scams on trademe. There’s no security, especially when selling cars.

Trade Me has an automatic dispute procedure that enables it to wash its hand of any buyers legitimate complaint. It consistently supports the thieving supplier and Trade Me does not care one iota.

Crazy fees, crap customer service, pathetic for a kiwi company. terrible in any aspect.

Like all the other bad reviews for trade me ..I have found that it is true that trade me do not support, protect and stand up for traders that get ripped off. The fees keep getting higher as well :(
I recommend fb MARKETPLACE ,,and no fees either!!!
