Personal Compassionate and Respectful Service
It is always difficult to describe such a heartbreaking, painful experience such as organising a funeral for a deeply loved one as 'positive'. However, I can honestly say Alex lightened the huge weight I was carrying, from my initial enquiry right through to personally returning my Dads ashes and wedding ring. I knew from first speaking to Alex he was the right person to take care of my Dad who was looked after with patience compassion and huge respect. As a grieving family, Alex invested time in both myself and my Mum, both on the phone and visiting the house to guide us through the unknown and to make sure everyone's wishes, especially my Dad's, were met. Nothing felt too much trouble to ask or to clarify and we were kept informed at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Thornhill Funeral Services to anyone who is looking for a personal service where all needs and wishes are accommodated and where there is honesty and transparency. I can not thank Alex enough for making sure my Dads last part of his journey was as he wanted and that he was there to coordinate every aspect. That meant a huge amount to us as a family and made a terribly tough time feel that little bit lighter.

Nobody wants to have to arrange a loved ones funeral but Alex really made the process run smoothly. Alex has a real flare for the small details. He thought of everything and helped guide us through all the arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble. He has such a nice manner and really looked the part with his top hat and cane on the day of Mam's funeral.

We used Thornhill Funeral Services when my husband passed away. I cannot recommend Alex enough and know my family feel the same. He is so patient, calm and has everything thought of. His experience is very evident and he guided us so well to enable us to have the funeral we wanted.

Kind, professional and knowledgeable.
Alex is the kindest, most professional and knowledgeable funeral director we could have hoped for. He listened to all of our wishes, allayed all of our worries and put on a fabulous spectacle on the day of Dad's funeral - he would have loved it. We have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

He was also friendly and approachable and was able to answer all the questions we had about the arrangements we had to make. He guided us with empathy and sympathy and made suggestions that helped us make the right decisions.
