Normally I would like to have given…
Normally I would like to have given the WS a 5, but due to problems earlier in the week they get 1. This week I was told not to expect my delivery via DHL to be on time. I was told that the estimate was not a guarantee and that a delivery being 2,3, or 4 hours late on a regular basis was not a problem they could solve. It was suggested I could raise it at the AGM. So I was very disappointed today when they managed to deliver some wine 6 minutes after the start of the estimated delivery time slot to my Mother-in-law in Surrey. It seems that customers in East London don't deserve accurate delivery times, but those in Surrey get special service.

Ongoing delivery issues
Unfortunately delivery issues are ongoing and despite previous conservations with the Wine Society regarding previous deliveries to the wrong address and late deliveries, I have given the Wine Society the benefit of the doubt in the hope that the issues were actually being addressed. However my latest order was due to be delivered on Friday 20th February, then it was the Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday of the following week and was eventually delivered on Thursday 26th Feb. The box was delivered opened and there was no strength in the cardboard as if it had been left out in the rain. Disappointing.
On a positive note I have always found the staff at the Wine Society helpful and responsive, unfortunately I'll be minimising the volume of wine I purchase from them solely due to the ongoing delivery issues.

I’ve been a member of The Wine Society since 2011, and it remains one of the best decisions I’ve made as a wine drinker. The combination of quality, value and integrity is exceptional. Every bottle feels thoughtfully sourced rather than commercially pushed, and the tasting notes are consistently reliable, detailed and refreshingly honest.
What I value most is the sense that the Society exists for its members, not for shareholders. Prices are fair, provenance is clear, and the range strikes an ideal balance between everyday drinkers and genuinely special bottles. The en primeur offers, mixed cases and buyer selections have broadened my palate enormously over the years.
Customer service is unfailingly efficient and courteous, and deliveries are always well handled.
After nearly 15 years, my enthusiasm for membership hasn’t diminished in the slightest.
