Driver cut me up on the road need training!
utterly useless.
These people were contracted by my insurer to fix my bathroom and kitchen following a water leak. The TLDR is: they failed to do any work correctly so it ended up being in a worse state after they left than before they arrived and insurance had to either write off or privately repair rooms. Took months to do nothing and made everything worse.
To start with the kitchen, they came out and assessed it, then many weeks later sent out some guys who werent too happy to be there to simply remove the water damaged floor from under the cabinets. They couldn't be arsed to actually do the job right so instead of removing the units to lift up the wall-to-wall flooring they simply wound up the feet and dragged it out.
This meant that two legs underneath the units were completely torn off and broken needing replacement, they then never bother winding back down the aforementioned legs and so all the units sagged from the walls they were now solely supported by and went out of position and going all wonky. The cooker and drawers/ cabinet doors leaned in unusual angles preventing correct opening and closing as well. They also dented and damaged a number of panels during this.
Then to top off the whole kitchen ordeal upon being sent straight back after leaving their bodge they stated "we wouldn't cause any of that damage we do this all the time and are used to it and are too good" (paraphrased but they genuinely said it to that effect).
If you're that good then how did you manage to mess it up SO MUCH that the whole kitchen had to written off is all I'll say to that comment.
Then there's the bathroom... oh my god the bathroom. If you thought the kitchen was bad this was SO MUCH WORSE and is STILL ONGOING. For context its now the end of October coming into November and the leak originally happened in FEBUARY (Forshaws came out in June tbf to them).
to start they had it clearly laid out in their works sheet that they were to level the floor as there were remnants of tile and tile adhesive still left on the floor from the removal of the old tiles however they couldn't be arsed doing that; so they just didn't. This was in August I believe and is the root to most of the problems in that room.
By laying tiles on a floor that was MASSIVELY unlevel due to the lumps and bumps means my Victorian rolltop bath with no adjustable feet has to sit on floor that at its worst is 15MM different meaning that the bath will not drain. This then leads to me questioning it, them denying, me arguing and refusing further work until it is rectified to as it was before and as they SHOULD HAVE DONE TO BEGIN WITH. No happy ending here either, after an ungodly amount of emails and multiple visits from tilers, bathroom fitters, plumbers and supervisors (multiple form every category there may I add) they just refuse to redo the floor.
No compromise, no fixing their mistake, no accountability.
Nothing.
It falls back onto the insurer then to have to turn around and say "we agree with you the floor should have been installed level to begin with its Forshaws fault they're in the wrong" and that they will bite the bullet for it and have to just replace the whole bath with an alternative. I have had to loose my gorgeous bath and go for a standard one to hide the floor and allow its adjustable legs to compensate for the amount the floor is out by.
oh also they never did anything else in this time either so I'm literally worse off in every room they've entered into so far and I cannot bear the thought of them ever having to come back again.
I hope if you read all this then you understand you need to RUN FOR THE HILLS at the first mention of this company.
Carpets was dirty in hall ways and stairs room had hair on towels dirt in the window opener couldn’t shut the windows fully either so all you could hear all night was bad wind stains on the walls easily could of been fixed with a wipe pillows was very bad my child couldn’t sleep properly also bad smell in lifts and lifts also sounded like they was going to break down at any point and very depressing room need to be updated please listen to guest because has potential to be a great hotel but changes need to be made …
After our street flooding causing damage to property’s and gardens the staff at the forshaw group were absolutely incredible, they have fitted any drying equipment I have needed, they have taken away my late sons Wendy house to repair and re paint due to the water damage, they have made sure my garden salon has been dried out to ensure no more damage happens. They couldn’t do enough for me, made sure my garden was tidy and too away anything that was left behind, they even took their shoes off so they didn’t get my salon dirty. lovely group of guys who made a crap time bearable.
Absolutely horrendous outfit, 5 months to complete work, damage and destruction everywhere. The worst company you could ever wish to use. They have blamed us for leaving holes in our floor. They are incompetent liars. DO NOT USE THESE COWBOYS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
I am still awaiting work to be completed after Aviva Insurance appointed TFG as contractors on what should have been a simple leak repair to my bathroom and lounge repairs . Aviva approved the insurance claim in May 2023 Not only did the Forshaw Group leave us until August to confirm they would start the work they then attended on 24th August and left us without a plumbed in bathroom and toilet until 8th November but this is only partly sorted and still not fully fitted they have not fully completed all the other leak damage work too , incomplete decorating and replacement of broken light in lounge . I have inundated them with chase calls and emails and they ignore we are now in month 4 and are still living with an incomplete bathroom as well as other unfinished repair work to my house The Forshaw Group are the worst company I have ever had the unfortunate experience in dealing with . And Aviva insurance are just as bad for using them for their insurance claims
I’ve had a terrible time with this company after my insurance asked them to do the work . They left my laminate with a bump in the middle of the floor that wasn’t there before and then said it wasn’t their fault it was the floor . Do not use if the insurance asks you to !!!
I suspect that the performance may depend on who manages your project, but in my case the performance, as managed by Glen Simpson, was top notch. This was an insurance remediation job, contracted by LV (Liverpool Victoria) after a car ran through a garage door and half demolished the back wall (nobody injured!). Forshaw are also based in Liverpool, so many of the workmen involved (bricklayers, electrician, plasterer, painted, floor layer, plumber, to name but a few) came from everywhere from Rhyl to Aintree, all the way down to Shropshire. Rubble was collected by someone from Birmingham (practically local!), They were all on time, or even early (with notice) vs the schedule of works Glen had sent. They were also tidy, polite, and treated the occupant of the property (not me) with kindness and respect, despite her advancing Alzheimers disease and evident confusion.
Local suppliers (garage door fitter) were engaged where I could identify them, and were managed and paid promptly. I was kept informed by email, and phone, and work was done to a good standard, as far as I can judge. I would say that their online project management/tracking system was clunky and hard to use, so I abandoned it in short order - the emails worked better. I was initially dubious given some of the previous reviews, but I was either lucky, or things have improved a lot. Would certainly not hesitate to use them again, though I hope not to have to. Certainly helped reduce stress on a difficult situation.
