Totally agree about the "dress code". Majority of people in very casual attire. The views are amazing but the food and drink prices for this "experience" are astronomic. Cajoled into buying champagne by the glass which works out at about 6 times the retail price. £52 for a miniscule portion of what was supposed to be Dover sole with inedible broad beans and girolles and no monksbeard as per the menu.
What a rip off.

If you like a sub standard afternoon tea then this is the place for you.The website for the Shard says that there is a dress code and smart casual is acceptable. However the vast majority of people were wearing jeans, t shirts and some were in shorts and even ripped jeans and baseball caps. If anyone from the Shard reads this then please remove the dress code requirement from your description as it just isn't true. I mentioned this to the server at the time who just shrugged.
Service was ok and food passable but of the same standard as a motorway service station.
Please visit the Ritz and see how afternoon. tea is done and for only 10 pounds more.

Save your money - you pay £70 for a “brunch” that gave you a piece of belly pork the size of a slice of cake and not a single other thing on your plate. Charged for water that they push for you to have and was declined. Having to chase up 3 times a round of drinks - go anywhere else for better service than that they put 15% on the bill for!! Views are amazing though and surroundings nice but £500 for what should cost £60 - not worth the money!!

Good experience, I celebrated my birthday at the Shard and the stuff was amazing however the food is not the best considering the prices.

I went to the shard for my partners birthday on the 21st of July and it was a nice atmosphere ie music and views but the food was really bad I was at the oblix east the prawns were off with a bad smell the salmon was flavourless my partner was so upset I left a review and the restaurant manager Robert cappadona side he was going to give me a call this never happened after going back and forth via email with him my advice to everyone is don’t waste your hard working money going to the shard the stuff are rude and and management do not stick to what they say I’m very disappointed as many people I no have side the same thing Ramel Allen

Went to the Shard for afternoon tea as a special treat for my wife. The surroundings and ambience were what you would expect from such a prestigious venue. The service was reasonable. But the food when it came was very average, a few finger sandwiches which were poor (I've had far better sandwiches from Asda). There was a very small bread roll with Ratatouille in it (disgusting), a few small sweet things which were ok. But for £163 for two people, I think it was vastly overpriced!!

Amazing experience. Amazing views. Aside from that when you have a question they have what is called the London Expert. Two of them were walking around. And Chris in particular answered all of my questions. Made the experience that much better.

We visited the Aquashard whilst in London as part of our 15th wedding anniversary celebrations. Looking at what we got - we paid a premium for mostly the service we received from our waiter, Justo, who made this experience great for us.

The service we received was the stand out part for us here, because Justo took into account the reason for our visit, really made us feel welcome, and did his best to make this a great experience for us.

The food was good, and had a minimalistic feel to it. The stand out aspect of this was the pastry elements; speaking as a City and Guilds trained Chef (many years ago!) I'd say the Pastry Chef has a great future ahead.

In summary, based on this visit, the Aquashard is for you if you want: great service, good food (notably pastry aspects, and the view from the Shard.

Daughters 40th birthday treat very disappointing visit to Aqua Shard.
Firstly it is very overpriced for what you receive as a menu choice .
Secondly we were sat on what I can only describe as table and chairs fit for toddlers .
You can not fault the view but certainly I still would not pay what we paid for "tea" for the view alone.

Dress code? What a joke in a place like this,

We went to afternoon Tea 17/3/23 @ 14:15 we had a wonderful time. However, I’m absolutely positive we have been seriously over charged had brought two bottle of rose at £49.00 per bottle & 1 glass prior at the bar at 14.00 plus three beers at £9.00 each we only had the £61.00 afternoon Tea offer Per person ! yet we have been charged £326.00 oh and a still bottle of water at £5.50 p - Amused I am certainly Not we were served by Lucas.

Very disappointed in the aqua restaurant. We were over charge for drinks we never had. The food was not good at all. My steak was covered in way to much salt, the Service was extremely poor. What should of been a family special day out was ruined and very expensive for such a poor service.reservation number 7T6BC9FR

3 hours of my life I'm not going to get back. Not to mention the wasted £32. The whole place is shrouded in glass, which is a bit dirty, so you're not going to get a decent photo. They could open it up to the outside but have chosen not too.

If you try and book over the internet and that doesn't work don't phone them. The phone call will cost you around £12. Well, that's how much my phone call was.

Utterly over priced in every sense. I'm only glad I didn't buy a drink....

We booked and paid for vouchers for the tasting and wine pairing menu as a birthday present to ourselves last October. 6 months on we’re still being told that there isn’t a tasting menu in place in book a date for. The call handlers who take our calls have no idea when we’ll be able to book for.

It’s outrageous that they take your money and a lot of it and don’t offer what they’re promoting

Booked lunch with the friends at Hutong on Saturday. Were seated facing the other side of London with no attractions visible and there was no option to choose where you wanted to be seated.

The service was poor, the waitress could not even answer our questions about the menu, which made our experience very miserable. The bill came with £35 service charge for literally no service. Ridiculous.

The food was very pricey which I would have no issue with if we would at least enjoy it. However, we all felt very heavy after eating at Hutong, ended up with heartburn, feeling that we overate some oily food. My crab was just disgusting - oversalted and extra spicy, plus very oily.

I will never visit this place again, as it’s a complete rip off for such a tasteless oily food that leaves you sick.

Not impressed at all and will be writing direct.
My partner booked as a birthday surprise for me. He booked a table with a view and what he thought was a champagne MEAL at Gong. At the time he booked and still, you cannot access rhe food menu.

On arrival, we were told to scan a barcode for the menu. We were seated at a small table, around the size of a small lamp table. The area very small with another small table right next to you.No privacy to talk at all.
We looked at the menu which stated hot and cold platter. We wrongly assumed we would get to pick something from it.

We were served a small cocktail, then champagne.
The platters arrived. Miniscule pieces.
3 tempura prawns, 3 sushi, 3 geyoza. Small slither of smoked salmon and one of tuna between two people. Not a meal at all.
Then " dessert" 5 melon ball sized ice cream flavours.
Then we were told no much time left and had to leave!

Appalling for the price charged. Wouldn't go again nor recommend.
I felt bad he'd paid so much for so little.
1 star for the experience.
We then had to pay again for a view from top. I feel of you have already paid to eat etc, viewing should be free from whatever floor.

Went to aqua shard for afternoon tea for a special event. Service and food both awful. Overpriced and much better elsewhere in London (sky garden for example). No response to complaints. Wouldn't go again.

Meh. The food is just not that good anymore

I booked tickets and received confirmation but it stated the transaction was not successful so I rang customer services to check and was assured I had not booked and my money had not been taken. A day later I re booked to find my money was taken twice! Took me over a week to receive refund which was taken from me by the shards glitch on system ! so technically they stole from me and I had to wait on refund through no fault of my own! Tainted my opinion before I’ve visited and I would prefer not to go now if it was only easy to get a refund, which it is unfortunately not! Disgusted by it.

Where do I start you will walk away disappointed food was poor and for the prices! Service was rushed and rude never again
