I wish to give fair warning to anyone…
I wish to give fair warning to anyone considering using this firm.
If you are unlucky enough to have fitters provided by Tailor Made, who do not take neither care nor pride in their work do not expect this company to do the right or lawful thing.
Let me explain
An order was put in by my kitchen fitter for three work surfaces, back splashes and windowsill’s. It was to be cut and fitted by Tailor Made. During the fitting the work surface was marked. Only slight scratches but none the less marked
They also left the large back splash for the hob unglued, so if touched it would rock back and forth. The only thing stopping it from falling was a slim piece of silicon at the base. If this had fallen my hob would have shattered and someone could have been seriously hurt
The surfaces were sealed with black silicon but in two areas had not been taped off before applying the silicon and hence the silicon bled into the grain on the side panels
The respond of this firm :
Two weeks before the sent someone to secure the back splash
The chap who came to secure the back splash took photos and said he would make a report about the damage to the work surface and side panels.
The Outcome
Your fitter must have damaged the work surface not our problem
We will replace silicon but any damage we do to the side panels removing the silicon is not our problem
Eventually they agreed to put a back splash up to cover the silicon bleed
They refused to take responsibility for the damaged granite. Granite can only be marked by a material as hard or harder than itself = diamond or granite. The kitchen fitter had used neither in the fitting of the sink.
Because my contract was with my fitter not the company it is up to him to take the company to court
So be warned, it not a nice company to do business with and you do so at your own risk If you are brave (daft) enough to go ahead please make sure you have either plenty of extra cash or you have legal cover with your home insurance. If a problem arises you are going to need it. They will make you or your insurance take them to court to get a resolution.
