Take Two? Nah, Take Zero.
As a lifelong Borderlands fan, I’m heartbroken by Take-Two’s recent Terms of Service (ToS) changes for the Borderlands series and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. These policies, which reportedly allow the collection of sensitive data like IP addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, and even passwords, feel like a betrayal of the franchise’s loyal community. Worse, they grant Take-Two broad authority to ban players on subjective grounds and restrict quality-of-life mods that fans use to enhance their single-player experience. This invasive approach is a shocking 180 from the Borderlands we’ve loved for over a decade—a series once celebrated as the gold standard of looter-shooters.
Borderlands 2 remains a timeless masterpiece, cherished for its humor, gameplay, and community spirit. Yet Take-Two’s new ToS threatens to erode that legacy. Fans are already calling this a “Flak fest” on platforms like X, with many vowing to abandon the series or skip Borderlands 4. By prioritizing data collection over player trust, Take-Two risks shrinking the vibrant community that has sustained Borderlands through thick and thin. This approach is not only destructive but unsustainable—alienating fans will hurt sales, respect, and trust in Gearbox’s beloved franchise.
I understand companies need to protect their interests, but spying on players who’ve purchased a game isn’t the answer. Ownership should mean freedom to enjoy Borderlands without constant surveillance or fear of arbitrary bans. Community mods, especially for single-player, enhance the experience and keep the game alive—stifling them is a disservice to fans. Take-Two’s policies may be legal, but they’re driving a wedge between the company and the players who’ve made Borderlands iconic.
Personally, I’ll keep playing because I love Borderlands too much to let it go. But love doesn’t blind me to the reality: if these ToS changes persist, the series faces an early grave. The community is already fracturing, and Take-Two cannot afford to let Gearbox’s crown jewel fade into obscurity.
I urge Take-Two to reconsider this approach. Reverse the invasive ToS clauses, clarify what data is collected and why, and respect players’ rights to use mods in single-player modes. Engage with the community—listen to our concerns and rebuild trust. Borderlands deserves better, and so do its fans. Please. I beg of you, Don’t let a shortsighted policy destroy a franchise that’s been a beacon of joy for millions. Act now, before the community dwindles to a shadow of its former self.
Ridiculous Terms of Service that Want EVERYTHING from you
I've recently been completely walled off from being able to play my favorite gearbox games online because of Take Two's obtuse and extremely ridiculous terms of service, out of interest for my own privacy and security, which shouldn't have to be a problem, but for some reason this company likes to give people problems, it seems like.
Awful.
Oh dear….
Oh dear, doesn’t look promising for a refund after they took my £9.99 for Color Block Jam golden bundle, yet didn’t deliver the package. I have contacted them. Not hopeful of a reply. Shan’t give them any more money. Don’t play Color block jam and buy bundles. They won’t deliver, be warned !!
True Crimaial Acts
Their Nightclub Bouncer In Passive Mode Is No Good As They Are Trolling Racist Only On Their PS4 Version 1.52: Against American's With Disabilities Act, SB 7270 Violations.
Bastard Company
They ruined Risk of Rain 2. The Seekers of the Storm DLC had been something I was looking forward to since its announcement. When it released it had ok content, nothing of which the community wanted. All they did create items that already existed and gave a new name and slightly different mechanic.
As of posting this the steam reviews are mostly negative. They also still have not, to m knowledge, fixed the game to where it functions on consoles again. The community for Risk of Rain was more than angry and the DLC is not fun, unbalanced, and ruins the game with bugs and bad items.
Going even further, the modding community for Risk of Rain almost vanished, that's how bad the DLC affected the game. The modding community is likely the only reason the game is still alive, because the fixed most of the game for them.
TLDR: Take Two ruined a beloved game, angered the entire community, modders nearly gave up on fixing it, and the game is still riddled with bugs.
Take Two - No thank you
I'm sure I'm not the only person Take Two has put into this position, but I had purchased KSP 2 as an early release as I had been waiting on this game for years to finally become available. Of course, I needed to drop $300+ for an upgraded video card, but I believed it was going to be worth it. I was wrong.
In June 2024, Take Two shut down Intercept Games to cut costs - even though their stock price was at $167/share around the time of the announcement. (Their all time high was at roughly $211/share, presumably thanks to increased game purchases as we dealt with COVID isolation). So the stock was trading well, they were making money hand over fist, and then the game they've promised us, sold on early access, continues to sell on early access, gets pulled out from under us while simultaneously laying off about 70 people. I'm happy to see their stock tank about a month or two after the announcement and hope it continues to lose value. I won't purchase any of their products - not GTA, not RDR, nada. Consumers need to speak up and vote with their wallets by no longer putting money into companies who don't fulfill their promises to the gaming community. There are great independent gaming developers out there who can and do deliver.
Dishonest
They absolutely destroyed Harry Potter puzzles and spells after purchasing Zynga in 2022 Turning into a dishonest and corrupt game that will inevitably die a slow death.
Take Two takes beloved projects and ruins them
This company doesn't just ruin games, it ruins game studios. The recent, silent killing of games like Kerbal Space Program 2 will only cost them more in the long run. RIP Intercept Games
Crap shoot company that lets you buy…
Crap shoot company that lets you buy early access games with the promise of great features and such, like KSP 2 , then ruins them. Typical American fat cat company.
Not Getting One More Red Cent
It wasn't the huge delays before anything was actually released. It wasn't the promising a huge game and charging full price for a buggy early-access version. It wasn't the slow pace of patches and updates. It was the eventual total abandonment of the game, KSP2, after so many people had put money into something that they trusted would be done eventually if they would just be patient. I was one of the folks who was scammed by these vulture capitalists.
I don't care how much anyone raves in the future about anything from this company and its subsidiaries, if I see any connection to T2, I will not be paying one cent to get it. The best they can hope for is that I'll order it when it's included as a free monthly game on console.
Abandoned Kerbal Space Program 2
The KSP community was so exited for the sequel of KSP, KSP2 because it promised a lot of new features. So, when the game was released in Febuary 2023, me and many other people payed 50$ for the game, and guess what? Take-Two fully laid off the whole company that was developing KSP2, leaving an unfinished game full of bugs and many promised features unadded. And Take-Two hasn't even said anything on this topic! I was so excited for this game, as were many other people. We got ripped off. And the game is still being sold for full price. Take-Two, if you're reading this, please revive Kerbal Space Program 2. It genuinely could have generated a lot of income, because a lot of people were waiting for the game to be fully compete before buying it and because the game could accumulate more hype once more people bought the game, and the game would probably have become more successful than KSP1.
Killed off ksp2
They killed off the most beloved game ksp2 will no updates no nothing just left it to die.
Next time actually finish the products…
Next time actually finish the products you sell on early access. I paid for a game at the rate of a triple A game and it's not finished. You still have it marked as early access. Your business practices are scummy and you have scammed a lot of people.

Scammers

They encourage gambling and addiction
10b stolen from gaming community
10b stolen from gaming community
I would leave no starts of possible.
After the scam they pulled on the KSP community.
The community was huge, so they decided they would make KSP2.
They game took 7 years to develop (if you can call it a game) they switched development teams pulling the contract from the first.
KSP 2 needed a new base foundation to develop on because the orginal KSP has software limitations, which is why there was so much hype. Despite the developers stating this Take Two instructed the Devs to use the orginal foundations.
The results of this is that the game was late, unfinished and still full price at release. They stated, release wouldn't be 1.0 but instead an early access, despite stating it would be a full release until this point. They then closed the KSP studio.
Basically; they created a unfinished game said they would work on it after release then closed the studio once people could no longer get refunds.
Shitbag company that doesn't follow…
Shitbag company that doesn't follow through with its commitments.
I have nearly 400 titles in my steam library. I'll never buy anything from Take Two again after KSP2.
Go ruin someone else give us back Homworld Mobile
Take 2 but hurt because we don't like Homeworld 3 so they decided to teach us a lesson and shut down homeworld mobile what a pathetic loser bunch
For 2k
For 2k, they need to chill on the microtransactions and up the graphics. Other than that, gameplay is decent.
