I honestly don’t know where to start. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had ordering school uniform.

I placed my first order 4 weeks before school started. The order arrived, but despite following the measurements, everything was massively oversized and had to be returned. It then took 3 weeks to get my money back.

I placed a second order 2.5 weeks before the start of school. The parcel was apparently left in a bin. Luckily, the rubbish collectors hadn’t taken it yet. The order was also missing one shirt. I contacted customer support and was repeatedly assured that the missing item would arrive before school started.

It has now been 20 days, and I still haven’t received it.

The quality of the uniform is another huge disappointment. The prices are comparable to M&S and John Lewis, but the quality is nowhere near that level. For example, a blazer is around £45, and a cardigan costs around £25 including delivery, while John Lewis sells a similar two-pack of cardigans for around £16 including delivery.

The sizing is completely inconsistent, the fabric feels extremely cheap, and the overall workmanship is poor. Honestly, without the school logo, the quality feels closer to Shein than to M&S or John Lewis — yet you are paying M&S/John Lewis prices.

And if you want to visit the physical shop in Milton Keynes to check sizes before ordering, don’t bother. There was practically nothing available to try on, so the trip was a complete waste of time.

So to summarise:

Expensive for the quality

Very poor and inconsistent sizing

Cheap-looking and poorly made uniform

Orders arriving in bins

Items missing from orders

Extremely slow refunds — 3 weeks

Customer support making promises that aren’t delivered

No useful stock in the physical shop to try on

The only reason I am putting up with this company is because the school requires their uniform and the school logo is on it.

If I had a choice, I would never order from them again.

I’m extremely disappointed with the customer service I received. I had already spent over £140 on school uniform and, within an hour of placing my order, realised I had forgotten to add a tie. I contacted customer service hoping they could simply add it to my existing order, but they were completely unhelpful and insisted I pay an additional £5 delivery charge.
For struggling parents, every extra £5 matters. Given the amount I had already spent and how quickly I contacted them, I expected a little understanding and flexibility. Unfortunately, the lack of care and customer service has really put me off.

I will not be using this company again. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere and will look at having future uniform made abroad instead. Very disappointing and, in my opinion, completely unnecessary.

If I could give a 0 I would; I waited two months for my daughter’s polo and I didn’t receive an apology or anything. Shocking

Shocking customer service. I’ve had to make three orders for one school uniform order. The first time I needed to return school jumpers, despite following the measurements to a tee and sizing up they were too small, but the team advised the original discount code could not be extended despite it only ending the day before. Then the tie colour that changes with every school year was incorrect (the site said this was the year 7 tie) but for some reason this does not update until over the summer and as I placed the order in June it was for the incorrect year group (but doesn’t advise the years online e.g year 7 for 2025-2026) Again refused refund as the tie no longer in packaging when I found out it was incorrect and refused any sort of free delivery on having to place a new order. Terrible customer service and massive waste of money.

Do not give refunds, only if you send them proof of return otherwise they say they haven’t received it.
Wrong sizing twice even tnough blazer old blazer of the same size fits perfectly. Unfortunately they have a monopoly in the school we go to so we have no choice. I am now £50 out of pocket as they say they won’t check if they’ve had it back without my proof of delivery which we have misplaced

I have been appalled by the customer service. Initially my order was very delayed. Some of it arrived but school shirts did not. I returned some of my order (as didn't fit). I then eventually sourced the school shirts elsewhere as starting secondary school was approaching. I emailed SWI to request they cancel the shirt order, only to be told they had been dispatched and couldn't be cancelled. Miraculously I THEN received a automatically generated dispatch email (suspicious). I returned the shirts upon receipt as no longer needed.

Neither item was refunded.

I have chased and chased for this but they keep refusing to look in to the order. They state that they will only look in to the order if I have the tracking number from the post office (which frustratingly i can't find). They refuse to look using my order number, name, address or payment method. It's a flat refusal to investigate.

I am so frustrated. This is over £100!

Absolutely useless, company for several year runing have let down hundreds of parents for this new term ive ended up sourcing used uniform twice because its never in stock , they tell you a pack of lies, ordered in may and june and neither item was available before the new y7 term, its disgusting , unfortunately our shitty school likes to back them up , Absolutely bull s**t !

You place an order and it never gets delivered. You call or email for an update and they say it will be delivered within 5-7 days and 2 weeks pass and it doesnt arrive. 4 weeks later still no item. I dont know of any other business where consumers are allowed to purchase something and a delivery date not given.

Refund times appalling - when you email in to chase you get a generic automated response - if my childs school uniform was not listed on this website i'd never use again

I ordered 2 packs of school shirts. I always order these same shirts and just bought the next size up. When I received the shirts I opened 1 pack and put them in the wash. Only upon opening up the short did I realise that there is a velcro top button for easy opening. It is a horrible thing - means you can't keep the top button open and the velcro scratches against my son's neck. I called the company and they have refused to refund me for these shirts because they were washed, even though I called and explained that I thought they were the same as the ones I always order. There is no mention on the description about any velcro fastening! Absolutely appalling and I shall not be using this company again.

Absolutely awful says items are in stock to notice a couple wks later you don't have them and message asking why and they tell you they will hopefully get them in a couple of months despite having over 30 in stock at the time this has happened 4 times now I have 6 kids and never had an easy experience it's a shame we have no other place to get uniforms online

Blazer quality is rubbish, but other school providers. Refund wait times are beyond disgusting. They received and signed for my return over a week ago and I am told they have upto 14 days! Not practical and ridiculous compared to other retailers.

Avoid at all costs!!!! I would give 0 stars if it was possible. They take your money but don't give you a date to deliver. The worst service ever! I am still waiting for a PE kit.

Very awful experience..ordered child PE kit at start of this academic year still waiting for the product not yet delivered asked to refund nothing yet..very disappointed ☹️☹️

If possible avoid. Every order I've ever placed with SWI has not been delivered without multiple chasing phone calls and emails. Awful company.

We ordered uniform for my son's new school in July. We got some of it, but still outstanding the PE kit. Estimated to be delivered some time in October! The school sweatshirts are dreadful quality severe bobbling after a couple of weeks wear and a few washes. If I had a choice I would not buy from this company again.

I recently purchased two school jumpers from SWI. They arrived with excess fabric that sheds all over other clothes, furniture, and the floor. Even after washing them four times, the fabric continues to come off. It makes me wonder if SWI is compromising on material quality to boost profits!

3 weeks into high school my daughter STILL does not have the correct uniform as the sizing on this website is so inaccurate we have had to reorder FOUR times to get it right. I’ve just made another order and what we need isn’t even in stock! Preorder is saying up to 2-4 weeks or maybe more it’s absolutely disgusting as there is no other way for us to get uniform and most of the items are compulsory and can only be bought from this cowboy company, I expected much more of cheam high school and will be sending them another email of complaint in hopes they will consider swapping uniform providers as almost all other families have had the same issues.

I orderd my sons uniform early July sent wrong sex blazer this company has no manager roughly about 4 people who answer the phone all the same read from a script no complaints procedure they have hundreds of pounds of multiple parents they still haven’t refunded they tell continues lies you can hear them all

I placed my order on 7th July. Well in time for the new school year on Thursday. I have chased so many times to be given different expected delivery dates. Saturday I finally received a tracking code on for this to now have gone missing at Royal Mail and SWI are not interested at all. I spoke with someone on the phone earlier and asked if I could just place a new order with guaranteed next day delivery and was told no. NO management there. No Complaints department. I will be making it clear to my Childs school that if they keep using this company with no other options I will be sending my kids in different uniforms as I refuse to use these again. Bank Charge Back is now my only option.
