Demanded credit check than told lies to my landlord
I tried to order oil for my furnace, unfortunately they demand that a credit application form be filled out. When I asked why, I was going to pay in advance so a credit application seems unnecessary, I was informed that it is required in order to put me in the system but they promised not to run a credit check? So they won't sign you up if you don't sign a credit check application that they won't run?!? That seems off to me so I told them I would take my business elsewhere. On Monday morning I received a copy of an email that Sunderland sent to my landlord falsely accusing me of refusing to fill out a credit application and insinuating that Sunderland had refused me service on those grounds.
It think that they know telling my landlord something like that can only serve to harm my relationship with my landlord and I believe that was the intention. I am also a long time customer of Sunderland feed store inspite of the moth eatin barley, rancid smelling oats, the occasional rat droppings in the grain, miss labeled bags, bags mysteriously sewn shut on both ends etc.
P.S. I have been informed by accounts payable that it is not company policy to require a signature on a credit check in order to receive a prepaid delivery of home heating oil.
