Squarespace Arvostelua 

Truly difficult to use a squarespace domain on another hosting site. Website is all built but I can’t connect it to the domain I bought through squarespace. I am fairly tech savvy - All I’ve been told is by customer service is that it must be an issue with my browser.

For the most part I have been happy with it and I was particularly happy with the support team as I could pretty much reach a team member to help me really understand issues I would be having and they would help me at all hours. Lately when I have tried to reach someone, the hours are limited and even they were able to replicate the problem, there were no solutions to it so worried customer service may be going down.

The platform for creating the website is very good. Some theme colour ranges lack some warmth and impact.
The fact that you do not support .co.nz domains was my main problem. I had to use a work-around. Even though all the settings seemed right on Squarespace to work between Squarespace and Crazy Domains. there was in fact not a full connection. This was only fixed by someone working for Squarespace on email. The bot was no use.

Max from Dublin was very helpful in moving over from a legacy plan to a new plan. I’ve been on Squarespace over 13 years now, and there have been lots of improvements.

It is simply to build your own homepage. It is not simple to do the right settings for a successful Google search.

I gave Squarespace 2 stars because this experience was extremely frustrating, especially after paying $348 for an annual subscription. I initially believed I was building my paid website, only to later discover that I had been working on a trial site and that my paid site was a separate site. The support representative explained that my design work could not simply be transferred to the paid site, which meant I would have to start over.

To make matters worse, when I tried to work on the paid site, the editor was completely blank and repeatedly displayed system errors. The second representative was able to reproduce the problem and confirmed that there were related bugs, so the issue was escalated to Product Support. However, I was not given a timeframe for resolution, even after explaining that we had a book signing event coming up that weekend and needed the website live.

The biggest issue was the lack of clarity throughout the process. I was given conflicting or confusing information about which site I had paid for, what could be transferred, and what would need to be refunded. I understand that technical problems happen, but customers who are paying for an annual service should not have to spend hours trying to determine which website they actually paid for or potentially lose hours of design work because of how the platform handles trial and paid sites.

Squarespace needs to make the process of purchasing a plan and connecting that plan to the correct website much clearer. There should also be a better way to transfer a website/design from a trial site to a paid site without forcing customers to start over. Most importantly, when a confirmed bug prevents a customer from editing a paid website, there should be clearer communication and escalation with meaningful updates on the status of the issue.

Wondering if they do any monitoring of their accounts. My son had an account/space for his business. He had it for a couple of years, it worked well. He passed away 7 years ago, there was no activity from that time. We didn’t realize we were still being charged for this account. I realize it was, also, my fault for not catching this, but I would hope in the future they monitor their accounts sites for activity and maybe put a pause or something to stop the charges….

The website editor is really good.
I connected a gmail account really easily.
Support responded very quickly with a resolution when my SSL wasn't working.
For some reason I find it confusing navigating through the administration menus, but I am new to this so that might be the explanation.

I left Acuity because Squarespace ruined it. Disgust.

Customer service with a live person is great! It does take too many chatbot questions to reach a person.

Been a loyal customer for some time now across multiple years for multiple businesses - paying a fair premium for their services.

Turns out there was billing errors AGAIN - as this has happened before, of duplicate billing for the same website, just the last 2x months in 2026 they've overcharged me by £51.57, that they will owe back.

Customer service chat just quotes 'policy' no care given whatsoever or 'google workspace charges' which isnt right in the slightest for £8 P/M, likely will be a section 75 refund via credit card provider now - which will ultimately affect business and the website even being live!

Absolute joke of a company, especially at this price!
Looking at moving providers now if no remedy for the mess around offered now.
