The review is related to Whitstable. I was going to cancel my subscription because a move fell through. I was offered a 3-month freeze on payments, which I accepted. Money was then taken out of my account the next month. I have used Herne Bay and Swanscombe Snap fineness gyms, and this one is far the worst on management grounds

Fab gym at parr bridge really great experience, staff friendly and helpful, brilliant range of classes, Brad great instructor!

Snap Fitness (Parr Bridge). The gym equipment is always tidy and clean. The staff at the desk always welcome you through the door with a hello and a smile! Some of my favourite classes that they offer are S7 Strong with Shay & Ride with Blake☺️ A great gym all round!

I was going to spare them this review, but they just emailed me requesting one, so they are literally asking for it.
Being a busy professional and having little time to spare, I often simply choose the gym closest to me wherever I live, and that’s why I persisted with this dreadful gym for the past two years until I’d had enough last week and decided to join a well-known gym franchise further out of town, disregarding the commute, which is absolutely fantastic.
To break it down:
Snapftiness Peterborough combines being a TINY gym with a model of: “get as many people through the door as possible until the place is crammed and show 0 interest in whether anyone can actually exercise because all we care about is coin.” I suspect this is their policy and not the staff’s fault, but every time I report any of the issues below, the staff do nothing about it.
There is no induction or interest to teach any of the many members lacking common sense or courtesy, some basic gym (or human) etiquette, i.e. when the gym is super busy, you a) don’t hog 2 or THREE (!) different machines or pieces of equipment for SUPERSETS, b) you don’t hog even 1 piece of equipment for hours on end to do 1 million sets of the same exercise, c) you don’t bring 5 of your mates so you can rotate around the same rack for 3 h blocking anyone else from using it, d) you don’t interrupt someone lifting heavy and/or pushing to failure to ask them how many sets they have left, e) you don’t loiter on your phone or chit chat with your mates, delaying people who are there TO ACTUALLY EXERCISE, f) you do NOT need to block others from using equipment that does not move, so you can lift dumbbells in front of the mirror. No, you're not impressing anyone, not even your mother, g) similarly, you do NOT hog machines or the water fountain so you can stand there every 5 seconds and stare at or touch up your hair. GO TO YOUR BARBER.
On the other hand, when the gym is EMPTY, you DO NOT need to use the ONE piece of equipment I am using at the time. There is an ENTIRE EMPTY GYM for you to choose something else from. You are NOT a pre-competition body builder that ABSOLUTELY needs that one piece of machinery to do an exercise that you can do with 10 others that stand empty. Once again, no one cares about your hair. Not even the mirror.
To sum up, it’s impossible to do a serious workout there.
But there are many other reasons:
1)The top floor has not been properly ventilated in the last 2 years. They keep saying they’re going to fix it but they never do. It REEKS and it's as hot as an oven. On top of that many members never shower, and stink. It’s actually hard to breathe in there. On the other hand, recently a member of staff gave an elderly female member of the gym an air freshener and she decided to start spraying indiscriminately at our faces!!!
2)The equipment is old, tired, torn, rusty, barely functioning, falling apart. There is little variety in terms of what you can do, and the absolute number of machines, free weights, benches etc. is extremely limited. Furthermore, for some reason members are in the habit of leaving dirty paper towels in cup holders, which I have never seen before in any other gym in my life.
3)The “changing room” is tiny. There is barely enough space to stand for 10 seconds so you can take your backpack off. Supposedly you are not allowed to change in there, as it’s mixed, and there are smaller changing rooms. However, no one enforces that. In fact, there are many delusional members who think they are body builders and regularly strip, even on the gym floor to impress (yet again) no one and stare at themselves in the mirror. The toilets are often dirty. The middle of the room is often soiled with various powders the aforementioned delusional members / in cels snort in their failed efforts to make themselves… taller. Many lockers don’t lock or their doors are falling apart.
The only reason this place is surviving is that far better gyms are way out of town. If a single decent gym opened in the centre of town, this place would go bankrupt in a week, and I sincerely hope that happens as they 100% deserve it.

Update: The owner of this sad establishment decided to respond with lies and personal insults to this review, which is more evidence of their professionalism. I could not respond on the other platform due to the character limit, so I will do it here. I never shouted at any member of staff. That is pure fiction. The only reason they came up with this is that they can't actually dispute anything I say, in fact they condone it.

Snapfitness Ypenburg, helemaal top! Sport er nu een aantal maanden. We houden (als dienstverlening) samen met het team de schoonmaakwerkzaamheden bij. Natuurlijk 24/7 open dus is het wel fijn als members ook netjes en schoon zijn op het filiaal/materiaal. En zelfs de members die er sporten houden het netjes met de daar voor aangewezen sprays.Het is een nieuwe gym, fijn team en erg leuke en centrale locatie.

I absolutely LOVE this gym! The positive vibe, lovely staff, friendly members, the weight lifting equipment, the huge windows that makes the floor space so light and bright.
I have been to many gyms over the years, but this is by far my favourite.

This review relates to the Gym in Aberystwyth, I am a Oap and joined the gym with a view to getting a little fitter, however, due to sisuations outside my control , i was unable to attend. therefore after spending £34.each mth for 4mths I cancelled my DD, howerhower, i was able to to get to the gym to cancel my membership, long story short , i have had to spend another 2 mths fees and this on a pension, The manager didnt care , answering those are the rules. I feel let down, the manager was rude , even putting the phone down on me, therefore I had to do 35 mile round trip to see if she was happy so rude to my face. I hate companies like this , they employ people that are very disrespectful and unprofessional. disgraceful and also very expensive

Zeer teleurgesteld in de werkwijze van Snap Fitness. In plaats van leden op een eerlijke en gelijke manier te behandelen, wordt er gehandeld op basis van aannames en eenzijdige verhalen. De beslissing werd genomen voordat onze kant überhaupt serieus werd aangehoord dit is allesbehalve rechtvaardig.

Wat het nog schrijnender maakt, is dat er tijdens het incident sprake was van racistische opmerkingen. In plaats van dit serieus te nemen en gepaste actie te ondernemen, heeft Snap Fitness ervoor gekozen om hier helemaal niets mee te doen. Racisme wordt hiermee genegeerd, wat absoluut onacceptabel is.

Dit laat duidelijk zien dat Snap Fitness zijn leden niet op gelijke en eerlijke wijze behandelt. De dubbele standaard is niet alleen zichtbaar, maar ook pijnlijk voelbaar. Waar de één wegkomt met bepaald gedrag, wordt de ander zonder echte onderbouwing buitengezet.

Om deze reden heb ik mij per direct uitgeschreven bij Snap Fitness. Een sportschool die op deze manier met mensen omgaat en geen oog heeft voor hoor en wederhoor, past absoluut niet bij mijn normen en waarden. Ik deel mijn ervaring hier zodat anderen weten hoe er met leden wordt omgegaan wanneer er zich een conflict voordoet.

First time gym goer, very nervous about starting but my first two visits were very good, was made very welcome, didn’t feel uncomfortable at all and the guidance and help were really good.

I joined the gym in Tullamore, Ireland, in November 2024. I have never been to a gym that is so clean and well equipped. The staff are on hand if you need any help but allow you to get on with it if that’s what you want. Been using gyms since my 20’s ( I’m now 63) and this is without doubt the best one I’ve used.

The management at this gym has no regard for the aging disabled . They will not make a minor concession to accommodate a member. Management confronted me aggressively. When I tried to correct the issue, they became angry. I
Showed them my rights, and they became more enraged. Canceling my membership and accusing me of threatening the staff. I asked them to define and explain what they meant by threatening them because that is a serious accusation. I was told, "No need. " I did not threaten anyone. All this over a little water🤔

This gym does not have a handicap entrance.

Worst company worst employers. Don’t pay their cleaners clean fix pro. DO NOT GO

They threaten you with debt collectors, you cannot cancel without giving 30 days notice f that’s the middle of the month. Then you have to pay another month. Watch these robbers Bolsover Branch.

Bad experience with snap fitness. 30 days notice to cancel membership. Have to give written notice. Was away for work and couldn’t get in to the gym. They made it such a process to cancel. Then even by emailing them all my forms it takes three days to take effect. Rubbish. I didn’t think they were a bad gym but I’ll never go back and will share my experience with everyone I know.

as seen from previous reviews this company lives by their bad reputation : i cancelled my membership in good faith but they still managed to take one month membership, then i cancelled my direct debit and they went berserk threatening me with involvement from various agencies.. please guys read the reviews first before joining..

Ruim een week geleden zou ik 5 sterren geven, want dit was altijd de sportschool waar ik met veel plezier kwam.

Aan dat plezier kwam abrupt een eind op donderdagavond 18 juli 2024, toen we voor het eerst geheel ongevraagd in aanraking kwamen met de clubmanager van Den Haag.

Bij binnenkomst zeggen we de clubmanager (die zelf aan het trainen is) nog op een vriendelijke wijze gedag. Hij kijkt ons aan en reageert niet. Dit blijkt later een voorbode te zijn geweest van wat er komen zou.

Later willen wij deadlifts met dumbbells gaan doen voor de spiegel. Omdat wij altijd aan andere leden denken, hebben wij onze handdoeken allebei niet op een bankje gelegd, maar bij het ‘cable pulley apparaat’ gehangen, over een hendel voor 'triceps dips'. Op deze manier houden wij geen bankjes bezet.

Na ongeveer 10 min zijn we klaar, maar kunnen onze handdoeken niet vinden. Tijdens het zoeken zeggen we luid tegen een derde persoon dat we onze handdoeken kwijt zijn, dus ook de manager kan dit horen. Ik besluit om hem te vragen of hij ze misschien gezien heeft omdat hij 'triceps dips' aan het doen is. Met militaire toon zegt hij dat ze achter de balie liggen. In mijn verbazing reageer ik in eerste instantie alleen met de woorden “Wat vreemd”. Toen werd hij agressief en zei hij intimiderend “Hoezo is dat dan vreemd? Ik dacht dat die handdoeken door mensen vergeten waren.” Ik zei toen “Nou het is vreemd omdat jullie normaal helemaal niet zoveel doen en nu ga je zogenaamd handdoeken opruimen”, waarop hij zegt “Weet je wat jij mag doen, jij mag nu de sportschool verlaten”. Dus in plaats van dat hij toegeeft dat zijn flauwe treiter-actie misschien vreemd was, wil hij mij nu de sportschool uitzetten omdat ik zijn handelen bekritiseer. Later zegt hij nog: “Wacht maar, morgen krijg je een e-mail met daarin een locatie-verbod wegens onbeschoft gedrag”.

Toen ik die avond thuis kwam, heb ik een klacht gemaild naar Snap Fitness vanwege het buitensporige gedrag van de manager.

Het hele weekend ontvang ik geen locatie-verbod. Op maandagmiddag om 16:59 ontvang ik een reactie op mijn klacht van de Franchise Manager Snap Fitness waarin zij zegt dat de clubmanager in zijn recht staat, ook buiten werktijden. Ik stuurde haar nog mijn telefoonnummer om eens met elkaar in gesprek te gaan om tot een oplossing te komen, maar ze was blijkbaar al overtuigd dat de manager gelijk heeft en ik niet (misschien vanwege mijn buitenlandse naam, want veel andere data had ze niet).

Maandagavond hoorde ik in de gym van een medewerker (niet de manager) dat ik een locatie-verbod heb en dat daarom mijn pasje niet werkt. Dan zien we twee spelfouten in mijn e-mailadres in hun systeem. Ik zei dat hij zijn manager gewoon kan vertellen dat ik direct zal vertrekken als hij even het verbod naar het juiste adres stuurt. Daarop zei de medewerker lachend “Hem kennende komt hij direct hier naartoe en belt hij ondertussen alvast de politie”, hetgeen ook gebeurd is.

De manager belooft in het bijzijn van de politie om het verbod alsnog te mailen. De lezer van deze recensie kan zich voorstellen dat ik de gang van zaken van deze avond als erg intimiderend heb ervaren. Bovendien gebeurt dit alles in het bijzijn van de mensen waar ik altijd gezellig mee omga, hetgeen erg vernederend was.

De volgende dag stuur ik ZELF een e-mail met het verzoek om het locatie-verbod. Dit krijg ik op dinsdagmiddag 23 juli. Hierin staat alleen dat ik “onbeschoft” zou zijn geweest tegen een medewerker, zonder concrete toelichting.

Ik heb daarna ook de Directeur Snap Fitness Benelux benaderd. Net als de Franchise Manager, concludeert ook hij dat de manager goed gehandeld heeft, zonder ook maar met mij in gesprek te gaan.

Elk bedrijf kan altijd een paar rotte appels hebben, maar dan is er vaak wel een procedure die ze eruit pikt als ze de fout in gaan. In dit bedrijf kan een clubmanager overal mee wegkomen (volgende keer met iets ergers), zolang hij zelf maar een ander verhaal vertelt dan de klant. Zelfs als de klant een nette burger is, die met alle vaste klanten bevriend is in de gym. En zelfs als er diverse getuigen zijn.

Very disappointing management of this gym in general and for The Hague branch in specific. The manager of this place has been intimidating and rude to my husband and suspended his membership for being “rude” back. As a customer his complaint was never heard, his privacy was violated/data leaked and even with further escalations noone cared to pick up the phone and listen to his side of the story (because “the manager is always right” in this world). I cancelled my membership because of this and noone cared to ask why (although previous gyms who actually cared about customers always did). Very demeaning treatment to say the least, possibly racial discrimination perhaps? I don’t understand how this is still happening in big global corporates as such in 2024.

The most cleanest gym amazing staff and its so friendly and amazing i cant fault it an inch

Snap Fitness in High Wycombe is a well equipped gym with some good classes and excellent instructors. However, the management is appalling. I was in a class and aggressively verbally abused in an unprovoked attack by another member (I'm female, in my 60s, he is male, muscular and about 35). I complained to management and they have not once got in touch with me or done anything at all about the aggressive male. If you are female, go to evening classes at High Wycombe Snap - AVOID AVOID. This is NOT a safe space and the management could not care less about protecting its members.
