Terrible communication. I approached this company for a quotation for loft and underfloor insulation as part of the government incentive for improving energy efficiency. I had a surveyor call at my property three times, measuring up, took time off from work on each occasion, for the same measurements to be taken. I eventually applied for the grant and was awarded the grant amount, a date was given to me to start the work, only for this to be delayed, meaning that I had to request an extension to my grant. Finally, to be told a further survey was required after the grant had been awarded and on that survey, told that I couldn't have the work done as the original surveyor had been a student and didn't know that the improvement did not qualify for a grant. Communication was terrible and I am glad that the work never actually completed, as judging from the initial contact, I can only imagine the work would have been of a similar standard.

I have read the reply provided by Smart Energy and unfortunately, I don’t see any right to reply. As their reply to my post states that my proposed work no longer met a criteria. Why was that? I was told that a room in roof should have planning permission, this is not correct as my local council confirmed that the room in roof falls under a permitted development free from planning application approval. They said that a room in roof should be a liveable room, finished and decorated. Actually, a room in roof simply needs fixed stairs and ventilation to count as a room in roof. This company have completely wasted my time.

I had the best experience with the boiler engineer who came to fix the boiler in my house today. He was very friendly polite and down to earth person. I couldn’t expect than anything from what he did. He left the place very neat and tidy after his job. Superb finishing touch.

The whole process of having the insulation fitted in both lofts within one day was carried out by a very professional team. They were all very friendly and always double checked on specific areas in the two loft spaces as to our requirements. We cannot praise the whole team enough from the first visit by Martin (the surveyor who provided good advice as to the way forward) to Olivia in the office and to Tom & Lee during the installation process. We would not hesitate to recommend Smart Energy to anyone wishing to upgrade their property insulation. Thank you.

I had a complete rip out and install, 11 Rad system. The work took 3 days and I must say the guys that came were brilliant and professional. The quote was very competitive although not the cheapest. After reading up there reviews it was worth the little extra. (You get what you pay for). Our new system works great at the moment and hopefully the aftercare is as good as the install. Hopefully smart energy doesn’t become like British Gas etc and continue on the path they are on. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that is getting central heating work done in the future. I had lost count how many cups of tea I made over the three days but I must be a guru by now. Thanks Dave and mark. Top lads!! And thanks smart energy for a smooth experience throughout.

Great service would highly reccomend Smart Energy the engineers were polite & friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Excellent service from the whole team who sorted out our grant for cavity wall insulation right through to the install. Everyone we dealt with were friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done all especially Piper for the admin and Terry for the installation.

Superb service. Great product. Has transformed a house which suffered from severe condensation issues. Martin was simply brilliant to deal with. And the fitting team efficient, courteous and left everything tidy. Would highly recommend this company and their product.

Dealing with this company has been a pleasure from start to finish. From the initial contact from Matt, the Managing Director, then surveyor Brian and finally most importantly their engineer Darren, they have been professional, friendly and extremely helpful. Full explanation along the way of the procedures, costs and time scale. The final installation by Darren was the icing on the cake, arrived early, friendly and professional, explained exactly what would happen, extremely neat and tidy work, old boiler and all rubbish removed. Not forgetting their electrician who finished off and fitted the remote thermostat controls! Very happy indeed and many thanks. Highly recommended.

I have recently had a complete new central heating system and new boiler installed by Smart Energy. The work was completed in 2 days,and I have to say I am very happy with the work carried out. It was a big job but I had very little mess. I would certainly recommend Smart Energy.

Beware of both Smart Energy and Act in Energy, the latter being a council funded grant organisation.
I had loft insulation fitted through Act on Energy by Smart Energy.
After just a year I have mould on the bedroom, bathroom and landing ceilings. Paint peeling on he ceilings in the bedroom and landing.
Having spent months complaining to Act on energy and been told they would get it sorted out and having put a poor review on trust pilot and been told by Smart Energy I had just 1 month only to raise any issues, which is ridiculous as it takes months for damage on this scale to materialise. And having had the work done inspected independently, and told there has been no ventilation left by the fitters Smart Energy. AoE now say they are not responsible for the damage to my home!! Smart energy are not prepared to anything because it didn't happen within a few days, of course it didn't.

Please beware of both Smart energy and Act on Energy as having organised the work to be done they take no responsibility when they send in cowboys.

I was advised by Smart in my previous review.
If you are happy to correct the work done and take responsibility for it and the damage its done to my property please email so I can respond. You have my email address on your records.
I have been in touch with act on energy since the first day mould started to appear, months ago. As they employed you not me I felt it right to inform them if the issues.
I would be happy to get the job done properly.

NB, The comment about no condensation issues or ventilation issues is completely untrue. I am still waiting for the report regarding the issues John found and the pics he took, as promised over a week ago. The more contact I have with this company the more they say one thing privately and another in a public post. Good job I recorded the conversation while they were here. Really disgusted with the misinformation, lack of responsibility for damage caused. If you are vulnerable, as I am, please be very careful. You could be left like me with 3 rooms to redecorate and a loft that needs a good job doing before it causes more damage.

We had under floor insulation fitted by Zac and his team alongside a boiler and 2 additional radiators fitted by Darren. All of the members of the team that carried out our work are knowledgeable, tidy, polite, trustworthy, hard working people. Would definitely recommend this company and this group of staff.

Excellent service from the whole team from start to finish. Friendly and effective communications from all on the survey and installation. New gas boiler installed and system flushed without problems. Fitter and electrician performed a very professional service, ensuring that it was Covid safe at all times and taking care to also protect carpets and leaving everything clean and tidy. System now works brilliantly and the house is now nice and warm. Many thanks.

Zak, Jody & Jamie arrived within 24 hours of me having notified the company of an issue. They took such incredible care, laying a protective film and dust blankets, as well as maintaining strict Covid secure practice. They fixed the problem quickly, supplied materials, as well as replacing a spotlight in the process, (completely above and beyond) they really couldn't have been anymore helpful. An incredibly happy customer - I'd recommend them highly!!!

Brilliant install, would highly recommend both the heating and insulation engineers of this company! They did a fantastic job at my property and cleaned up perfectly afterwards.

The lads came to fit my loft insulation.
They covered up the carpet, did their job and tidied up after themselves. Both were chatty and aminable.

Had a new boiler, radiator and hive fitted by Smart Energy. Brilliant customer service from start to finish, brilliant team of installation engineers, very polite, helpful and tidy. Very fair price too and all very covid safe. Would 100% recommend this company.

Having needed a new boiler for a few years we finally took the plunge this year and went through smart energy with government funding. We were very apprehensive to start with as having read reviews for other companies and the bad experiences of others. We read smart energy reviews and decided to go with them. We certainly shouldn't have worried. From the very first phone call they were very professional and reassuring. The surveyor was extremely professional and courteous. The price they quoted was excellent. The gas fitter who carried out the second survey was very thorough and took his time to explain and reassure us. All of the office staff were extremely helpful and polite and again reassuring. The fitting date came and the delivery company that bought all the items needed were great. The guys who arrived to fit the boiler etc were fantastic. They were courteous, polite, informative and very respectful of our property. They cleaned up after themselves both inside and out did a great job and left everything as they found it. We cannot recommend this company enough. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back to our property and from our personal experience we would say to anyone having any doubts to contact these guys and talk to them and hopefully you'll be as reassured as we were.
