I am on the spectrum, and confusing, repetitive processes can be a real barrier for me. Trying to cancel my SketchUp subscription has left me feeling like I am “chasing my tail.” I explained that I needed direct assistance because I could not log in to the cancellation controls. Being redirected to a process I cannot complete has been exhausting.

I reported charges of approximately $108 a month, problems accessing or using the service, and unsuccessful attempts to cancel. On September 25, 2026, support denied my refund request under its standard return window and said it could not turn off auto-renewal for me. On September 30, support responding under another case said it could not locate my subscription. We supplied additional identifying details and asked them to connect the cases.

As of October 1, I still have no written confirmation that auto-renewal is off and no approved refund. My request is simple: one person who can help identify the account, complete cancellation through a workable process, and fairly review the disputed charges.

This review describes my own experience. I will update it if the situation is resolved.

It looks like a big scam to me. I pay for the licence, I'm assigned to my license as well, I had confirmation by email, so all should be good to go. My trial finished, which it shows on my account. So why they still want me to start trial? There's nobody to answer your questions, only AI assistant. This is really poor product. I couldn't even give one star. Rubbish

Horrendous, i cancelled a subscription 3 times and yet they still charged me fore a new year before it even started, we tried to get our money back but they said they couldn't return it.

The software won't let me sign in 50% of the time, making me waste half an hour of my time trying to sort it out.

It's just awful in many ways and really wastes my time. trying to find an alternative

I managed to make it work ok and thought it was alright to model a kitchen. Then it wouldn't let me login. Again and again and again. So having worked out how to use it and having finished the model of the kitchen and other rooms, I can't access it. Help is only for paying models so they are useless. DONT GET THIS

Don’t even get me started. Let me start off by saying how infuriating this software is. My laptop runs perfectly fine on the regular, but every single time I open this damn app it freezes and lags EVERY 2 seconds. I add an object and the page reloads or it decides to close by itself. Second of all the saving is shit. For example, I’ve been working on a specific part of my house all of last week and I decided to open it just now to continue on from where I left off and it decided “oh I’m just going to delete everything you’ve worked so desperately hard creating” WITHOUT even letting me open my past history and finding my ‘old’ progress. I’ve never dealt with a software that just decided it’s going to do its own thing without it allowing me to work on it myself. I’m writing this now because it’s genuinely left me in such a miserable, pissed-off mood and I need to have this done within the next week WHICH is becoming less and less achievable. After this project I don’t even want to hear the word ‘SketchUp’ again. Like genuinely, fix your software. Actually I’m not even done. I’m genuinely so mad still LIKE BRUH HOW ARE YOU GUYS STILL RUNNING THIS PROGRAM. FIX. IT. Why am I always getting stuck in a god damn wall and why do I become one with the furniture every time I decide to do a 180 just to get the right angle to push/pull. Oh and why does it run at 1 frame per whenever it decides it wants to corporate with me? Look, I understand the ins and outs of the program, I truly do, but for the lords sake, I can’t get it to compromise with me. One second it’s my friend, the next (within 0.1 milliseconds) it’s my enemy again. Idk if I’m done yet, I’ll continue when I find another issue..

I learned sketchup because it was free for private use. Because i had learned it i bought a subscription for my professional use at work.
Now, without warning, Sketchup are holding all my private designs hostage and will not even allow me to export them unless i pay for it.
That is the same greedy a***le move as Adobe did.

Do NOT invest time or money in sketchup. They will use your work as hostage in the future.

I have been using SU since the year 2000. Although the software isn't comparable to now, the customer service was incredible and the people cared. Today this company appears to be yet another greedy US corporation. Their customer service is as bad as trying to obtain help from an American airline company. The cost of their software is incredibly expensive and their customer service makes it a continued slap in the face. This is not the fault of the many talented and caring people who work for the company. Their hands are held by their corporate board and their management team. I really like to give good reviews for people and companies. This one does not deserve it as they do not care!

This is one of the worst modeling apps I've ever used. First of all, it renders 3d objects hollow, which makes them really hard to work with. The GUI is extremely counterintuitive, especially when typing in measurements. When using the push/pull tool to remove things, don't expect it to work. I can't believe how bad this website is! If you want to 3d model, go make an OnShape account instead.

Worst app I ever my teacher put my whole school to use it and yet still people are complaining about I am too becasue it does not even work good it just ass and they scam people just like how Photoshop did

I absolutely hated using sketchup. It took me15 hours to make a simple chair. I want to know how professional furniture designers are completely sane after using it for over 24 hours. This is not a joke I am never using SketchUp again in my life. It does not even work properly. The move tool, instead of moving one part, moved everything touching the part. Sketchup is bad

This product was erroneously purchased right after the death of my mother. Subscription was never activated and product was never used. They have been taking money from my account for 7 months. I thought I was paying one of my mother's bills. Up on discovering that this was an accident, I reached out for a refund of unused subscription. At no time was downloaded or opened and their own site shows this. They refuse to refund even last month's bill. Disgusting! They send emails on Friday after 5:00 so you can't reach anybody until Monday. I would never ever recommend this platform to anybody. No wonder they have such low ratings. My attorney has been contacted about this matter.

The software itself is so incredibly basic yet an unbelievable amount of bugs. But the customer service is absolutely terrible. I’ve never known a company to be so incompetent. I wouldn’t recommend anyone pay for this service ever.

The automated support assistance sucked. Frustrating process, impossible to talk to someone, time consuming process...They should do better. The absurd automated response said that they send me a response to my mail adress when the problem was specificaly a wrong adress linked to my account...When I finally got a phone number, they hang up on me...

Horrific customer support! Ordered the product at a discounted price, had no access to it for over 2 months, the money was taken from my account, the support team told me a range of things from that my order didnt exist, to the money hadn't been taken from my account, and that I had to reorder at the full price. I can use paypal to cancel however I have had over 2 months of appalling and inconsistent customer 'support' and no apology.

The worst customer support ever. The Trimble customer portal doesn't function at the most basic level. Links that go nowhere, pages that don't load and customer support doesn't acknowledge open service tickets. Years of using Sketchup and no way to update a simple cc number.

Ca fait quelques mois que je dessine sur sketchup free et si je pouvais je ne donnerais aucune étoile (ou plusieurs en négatif...)

C'est un bon logiciel pour apprendre mais si vous songez à dessiner quelque chose de plus complexe qu'un carré, armez-vous de patience. Le logiciel gèle, il est lent, il lague et il plante continuellement et vous perdez ce que vous avez dessiné. Si vous voulez tout de même l'essayer, vous avez vraiment du temps à perdre. C'est triste car j'envisage acheter un logiciel 3D mais l'expérience que je vos avec sketchup fait en sorte que ce ne sera jamais ce logiciel que j'achèterai. J'ai perdu assez de repos, je ne perdrai pas mon argent

Most of it's locked behind a paywall - you can't even export to other things like blender or share without paying, features are hard to use and not well planned, and it is worse than any other software i've found.

ZERO assitance alors qu'il s'agit d'un outil majeure dans notre travail que l'on paye cher, beaucoup trop cher. Je n'attends qu'une chose trouver son remplaçant alors que je travail avec joie sur Sketch Up depuis 15ans. Mais depuis que racheté par Trimbel, c'est la cata, je m'arrache les cheveux et je hais maintenant Sketch Up.
