SheffieldCityCouncil Arvostelua

For some reason beyond our comprehension, Sheffield City Council sent, to our NEW address, a letter informing us that we were liable to pay council tax on our OLD property which we had sold and vacated 7 weeks ago. After waiting some 50 minutes for someone to respond to my phone call I was able to explain the situation only to be told that, because the council did not know the name of the new owner we were still liable, although we no longer lived there, for council tax on our old property...how this would stand up in a court of law I do not know..however the lady who answered our call was quite amazing..both patient and extremely helpful, even phoning back later after I had contacted the estate agent..so it is nice to be able to give a five star rating to the wonderful Becky who sorted everything out for us..

What is the point of having housing officers . When i signed for this property they said they would look into my queries of repairs yet a year and half on they now wont do them . They don't turn up for reviews or meetings . They don't ring back when they say they will . If you have issues they say they will look into it and you hear nothing back . You make official complaints through their complaints procedure and still nothing . Maintenence guys report repairs still nothing .supposed to have a duty of care to their tenants when they definitely don't and this leaves you feeling isolated and alone . What do we pay rent for ????

Burton Road Bus Gate is very confusing and I am sure leading to lots of taxes (sorry fines)
As with many people I know, we will avoid the area and unfortunately the local businesses too as a result

Greedy cee u next tuesday s my van is for domestic use not for work as im disabled

Been dealing with the disgusting housing officers from Low edges housing office Sheffield.
Absolutely disgusting racism within the housing office .
Condoning drug taking in communal areas and encouraging people from ethnic backgrounds to instigate trouble.
Richard England housing manager is the biggest racist corrupt incompetent idiot I’ve ever dealt with .

One is being generous. An organisation that lies to its customers which is just normal management practice for them.

Worst council ever. I've been on housing list for over 8yrs. I lived in sheffeild (not a council home) I was atacked asalted. Racist. (am a white male 64) Police involved. Council wouldn't help me move in anyway. I moved out of sheffeild I still am. I was scared harassed threatend.followed ect. Moved away from sheffield health care friends.family.. .Now I carnt bid for over 8months council carnt tell me why and unhelpful been down to council I can never get to speak to anybody. The place is hell on earth most are not English or speak English. But seen and get homes. Am disabled ill ex army I need a carer so they put me on band D. Lowest band. Shame on you sheffeild council. It's curupt unfair dishonest and no doubt trust pilot won't allow this truth to be shown. Am a 2nd class disableld citizen in my own country This is so wrong political it's a scandle. Why is this allowed to happen. If I was a person of colour this wouldn't be allowed or happen. A disgrace. This prob happens alot to people like me. Uncaring sheffeild council

I had a problem with my council tax which primarily was down too me I spoke on two occasions too a lady called Anna in the council tax contact dept who was fantastic she explained what I had done wrong and then sorted out my problem I won’t go into details but if wasn’t for this lovely lady my problem would have escalated just want too say Anna gets 5 stars from me

Sheffield City Council do not know how to do there job. They sent some islamophobe from Bristow and Sudor but failed to tell the company that they have been taking payments from attachments of earnings the debt was paid off.

Council Tax Office staff...if I could give less than 1 star i would. My father died and while sorting the property out I was given 2 exemption certificates by SCC to take it upto the sale of the property they were informed.of probate yet they since jan this year have hounded me for an outstanding debt apparently for council tax. No compassion and no accountability on their side that they sent out a second exemption certificate in error. I have since lost my job monies from my dads estate went to pay other bills on him home and then dispersed as we believed all debts had been paid. Have been threatened with court proceedings if I dont pay. Absolutely disgusting from SCC (the council tax is for £300) and their behaviour has been abhorrent.

I messaged these clowns 2 weeks ago regarding my council tax bill being wrong and still no reply.

This review is based on the interaction and communication made with Council personnel till July 2025 from December 2024.

In December 2024, dealt with Sheffield Council officer Ali Amini outside Sheffield Train Station, where he noted down my phone number in his notebook for sending SMS from Council. Because of the conversation, I missed my train. So, came out from train station and observed the behaviour of the office for few minutes.

As he exhibited violation of equality in public, I went to him and asked to display his Identity Card. He refused to show his full ID card and displayed only a fractional portion of the ID card hiding the entire photograph area, where only part of his surname was visible.

No SMS was received from Sheffield City Council, instead I got a letter from the officer Ali Amini which contained no signature or stamp of council. Soon after, I started getting calls from different international numbers, which were identified by my mobile as suspected scams. Also, I started getting fake SMS with One-time-Password or for password change request for my Crypto Currenncy account. My email ID started being flooded with crypto currency, finance, travel and holiday related spam emails.

Enquiry had been made and reply received from Tracy Rayworth, Interim Team Manager. The email showed great care to deal with the incident and clearly showed good amount of time and efforts spent by Tracy Rayworth. During the communication process with Tracy Rayworth, it was revealed that the half displayed printed name on the ID card of the officer was not fully correct. It was also confirmed that it wouldn't be common practice for Council service to send an SMS.

Request had been made to escalate the incident to further level along with the demand to provide the scanned copy of the officer’s ID card. In July 2025, the matter had been handed over to a senior manager and was supposed to get reply. No response received till end of February 2026.

So, overall review on the incident -

Public life disturbance,
Collecting personal information for False Reason,
Refusal of disclosing Identity,
Violation of Identity Documents and Identity Cards Laws,
Potential Identity Theft and Misuse,
Violation of Equality in Public,
Disappearance of senior management without resolving the escalated matter.

Pavements full of rotting leaves since the autumn in major roads leading up to the inner city hospital Royal Hallamshire and the schools of the area. Main city attractions like the Botanical Gardens are in the same road.

Roads full of potholes. A road in the same area - Broomgrove Rd - has been shut twice before in the recent past for repairs and now again it like driving on a rived bed.

Disgusting how can a company who get a good wage an do absolutely sod all all day complain about it.
One big joke especially the roads.

I moved into Sheffield a year ago. I have found sheffield council to be the worst Council Ive ever had the misfortune of having to comply with. The structure of the service is appalling. They make NO provision for how their system changes affect people in real time. They lack coherence when discussing simple issues. They have zero respect for the fact that they have an effect on peoples lives and livelihood. They show no consideration or compassion for the people they support (badly) then try to assert themselves and flex ego and power dynamics rather than professionalism and competency. They send you in circles and threaten you if you say that you will seek legal assistance after the fact that they have declined a basic duty of care. They clearly don't understand their duty of care. They fail in all areas of safeguarding. They take people who advocate for themselves as a threat and try to override you with bully boy tactics. Over all they are a toxic sham. Ill prioritized mess with very limited communication skills and a blatant agenda of their own that does NOT serve the community correctly, or efficiently. They definitely need an audit and investigation.

The Road Sweeper came to Revill Lane S13 today and did an amazing job on the road and the paths. In the 43 years we have been living here we have never seen such a good job. Thank you

24/12 - 'Merry Christmas@ Sheffield City Council, no response despite taking ALL my Christmas money.

I admit I travelled a couple of yards in the bus lane on Granville Road but to find me £115.00 + £70.00 late payment is disgraceful. I tried to advise that I had not received the original letter (we all know how unreliable the post is) but they only said I could appeal. No point as no one ever wins an appeal. I’m a 73 year old pensioner but they are only interested in claiming as much money as possible. No shopping for me for a couple of weeks.

Poor approach to supporting artists and the arts. The classical music scene in Sheffield is a disaster, and all music events are super expensive. Sheffield owned City Hall prefers to charge around 30% fees on top of ticket prices (most of which I presume goes to Ticketmaster and definitely not to the artists). I presume most of the pre-ticket price doesn't go to the artists either. The audiences are consequently poor. I prefer to vote with my feet and go to events elsewhere given these rip-off fees. The Council has no right to misuse public buildings, assets and trust in this way.

I have been trying to change my council tax band for months. Sheffield council are obviously trying the best to disaude me. I have sent details of properties near me as requested to no avail. They have sent a phone number they say I need to use, I have tried twice with the same message that' they can't help' I have asked to speak to someone but to no avail. I believe they think if they continue in this vain I will give up. Is this the way to treat a customer.

I've been thinking there this empty building. I dont know what it use to be a school I'm not sure but it's left empty near fox vally stockbridge well it would make a good independent home or flats 🤔 you should bye its money in. Your pocket
