I am writing this review specifically to highlight the phenomenal support provided by Susie at Sharesies. I was stuck in a complex IBKR share transfer process that dragged on for nearly 3 months and felt completely impossible to finalize.
The moment Susie took over the case, everything changed. She worked tirelessly, relentlessly, and with a level of dedication that is incredibly rare to see in customer service. Because of her intense work ethic and commitment to helping me, the transfer was finally accepted.

I cannot believe how little effort they put into keeping current customers content.

Their website had a glitch that removed my pricing plan halfway through the month, and then just kept repeating that I never had access to a pricing plan.

Their staff replying to messages on the website dont even know what they offer.

No way to get past the crappy gatekeeper of customer service.

From day one, the platform established a strong sense of credibility. Account setup took only minutes, the user interface was crisp and easy to navigate, and customer care responded promptly to my initial inquiries. Early account balance updates were displayed smoothly, communication was consistently professional, and I had every reason to believe I was working with a reputable, high-caliber financial firm.

That trust faded quickly once I submitted my first request to withdraw funds. Rather than executing a standard transfer, the platform began introducing unexpected procedural delays:

* Unscheduled Identity Verification: Support informed me that my profile required an advanced compliance audit, even though my initial identity documents had already been approved.
* Secondary Compliance Queue: Days after submitting the extra documents, I was notified that my account had entered a secondary regulatory review.
* Surprise Upfront Charges: Customer service stated that an administrative clearance fee had to be paid up front before the transfer could be authorized.
* Missed Settlement Dates: I covered the requested fee, yet the promised disbursement deadline passed with no funds arriving in my bank account.

A frustrating cycle soon developed. While the support team remained polite in their replies, they routinely avoided answering my core question: When will the transfer actually take place? Every communication confirmed that the previous requirement had been satisfied, only to introduce a new tax clearance, policy check, or system verification.

What started as a smooth and promising platform quickly devolved into an exhausting series of unexpected fees, moving goalposts, and constant stalls. If you are considering depositing capital into any similar service:

1. Review withdrawal policies thoroughly and understand every clause upfront.
2. Never pay upfront fees to release funds that already belong to you.
3. Conduct independent research before transferring any financial assets.

Been investing for years with sharesies, sold some crypto and the money has been pending and unusable for 8 business days now, 5 business days and no response when asking what's happening.. How can a company that has people entire life savings or investing be this useless, i can contact a company worth $10k and get live support, what a joke

if you want your money stolen, stick with them. Even having a legal NZ ID still not giving my access back. stick with other wallets. Don't trust them

Terrible service, zero communication, a complete joke of a business. I’ve used them for a while investing small increments, but recent experiences have changed my opinion materially. If you like being fleeced and have zero communication or customer service go right ahead. Zero stars if it was an option.

POOR SERVICE - DO NOT INVEST -
There is no proper process to assist clients in this business.
I have invested in this since 2019 and even with fortnightly investments, now I can't log in and no number to call and no response to any of the chats. Disappointing... If no response in the next two days, I will tag all the big bosses and put a post on LinkedIn to sort it out for better or worse.

Terrible customer service. Shortly after set up I set up the spend account with a card “on the way” 2 months later still no card and then got charged a $25 account fee. I emailed and booked a call with them to complain and get a refund. They cancelled the call and said they’d refund it and close down spend account as they never even set it up. 3 weeks later still haven’t refunded me and haven’t closed account. I’ve sent multiple emails with no answer. This place is a complete scam! Do not use this platform

- Too slow. It is not real time.
- 1 year FIF report for $70...?
- All commission rate is way too expensive.

5 days to process a withdrawal ☠️☠️☠️ But will take your money in seconds. Dk yourself a favour, use LITERALLY any other investing platform. Like another bloke here said, it’s unacceptable to handle people’s hard earned money this way

After waiting through the entire settlement process, I finally received my payment only to find the amount is completely wrong. I've been trying to get an explanation for 11 days but they've gone completely silent. It's unacceptable to handle someone's money with such a lack of care and communication.
Knowing my assets are secure and growing with #Goldbloom makes this whole situation much easier to stomach.

Third world Customer Support: I had a issue while switching my account from Personal to Business one. After going to 2 pages in the workflow and not completing the entire process, I couldn't access my portfolio. A third world country this onboarding process is and there is no way to cancel the onboarding process once you start it. The application is annoying, it doesn't show a proper message to the user suggesting this is an irreversible process.

Worst customer service I’ve dealt with ever! Response time is terrible, no customer support, no care in following up, utterly awful

All my shares were sold and purchased XRP without my authorisation or knowledge, and I didn't receive any security verification when this happened. Waited for more than a week to be told by Sharesies my computer could be hacked. I have asked for transaction details and IP adress, etc, still no response after nearly a week!!! Very stressful and horrible experience.

The help desk person I dealt with had no idea of the difference between certificated shares and electronic shares. Never got to speak with a broker! A very basic share broking company. Not worth the time.

They charged too much for everything . It’s like a scam

I'm from NZ and sold some shares i have been waiting for the settlement and payment to me of the money. finally got it and it's not right it's not the correct amount. Have been trying to contact them for the last 11 days and no response

Sharesies is something I tried for a month at 18 and put 215 NZD in there. It's got so many stupid fees that you can avoid by buying a subscription. Takes so long for orders to go through and takes days to withdraw money. Makes up rubbish as I just bought VEU and it says I've made a -3.22% loss which yahoo/msn finance say i'm up 0.15% and then i see. They factor in the stupid fees as part of the return and the charts are completely wrong. Use Ikbr/tiger brokers

Total rip-off when selling shares. $25 per transaction, and if your sell request gets divided up then you get charged per transaction! Much better to use Hatch. Won't be returning to Sharesies.

Sharesies is a share purchase and sale platform, not an advisory service. So many of the one and two star reviews seem to miss the point. Sharesies are excellent to deal with, in my experience. However, my only gripe is that they do not have and will not access shares in the European and Asian stockmarkets. That said, if you're in New Zealand and Australia and wish to limit your investments to those markets, its hard to beat. Excellent portfolio downloads, accurate and instant updates of your share portfolio live and an intuitive interface. I have ditched my expensive Big Name Bank based broker for them.
