I ordered a regulator online. The next day I received notification that the order was on hold. I contacted the verification department (adorama.com) and they told me that because my ship to and bill to address didn't match, my order was on hold. I was paying by credit card and was told if I made a wire transfer they could ship it. I called the verification department and was given the run around. Why is my order held up? Because it failed verification. Why did my order fail verification, because it was held up.... this is literally the response from Helene at adorama. Tried to contact customer service and sales but was just referred back to Helene. Absolute worst service ever. Ordered elsewhere. I hope management knows how bad the service is. So far I have told 3 other divers about how bad they are. My goal is to tell 50 others.

Update 3-26-23: Lest you think that Scuba.com had responded any further, it has now been 7 weeks and I have not gotten any further input from them on why my order was reject. I am continuing to share this with all of my diving friends and dive shop customers.

absolutely sucks - i ordered a pole spear 2 weeks before a guys fish hunting trip and they shipped me a used bent spear, nice, right. then the returns reps lied and lied and lied about when the replacement would come. never came before my trip. yay. NEVER use scuba.com. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible customer service from Darrick…
Terrible customer service from Darrick Cusick and others. This was an email I sent to the president, upon calling customer service and being given what was supposed to be the president's email address. I sent this almost two weeks ago and never received a response. I also have tried unsuccessfully to unsubscribe from their marketing emails several times. It always says I’m unsubscribed and then keeps sending them.
I had a very poor experience with Darrick Cusick recently and when I called to ask how to file a complaint, I was given your email. My apologies if this is not the correct method for filing complaints.
A few weeks ago (I think it was the first Monday in November), I started searching scuba.com for a travel BCD and other items I will need for an upcoming trip to southeast Asia. My fiance told me to email and request a package because he had done so a couple years before and had been really satisfied with the help he had received. I used the live chat function to request a package, and was told to email Darrick my request.
I emailed Darrick on 11/14 with my friendly request. I didn't hear anything for two days so I emailed him again on 11/16 letting him know I really wanted to take advantage of your Cyber Monday sales so I would appreciate if he could respond. He responded on 11/17 saying he needed my measurements and my address, which I provided that same day. I didn't hear anything for 5 days, so on 11/22 I followed up again asking for the package and a quote. I received no response. I then called yesterday (the final day of your sale, and a full two weeks after I had requested a package) and left a voicemail at his extension in the morning in which I requested that he "please, please, please" call me back so that I could order this before the sale price ended. I then followed up that voicemail with another email in which I let him know I would be filing a complaint. I still have not received a response.
I really needed and wanted help choosing a package. Against my better judgment, I ended up supporting your business by choosing things of my own last night. It was very stressful and ended up causing a fight between me and my fiance because he had to stay up late working and then take time away from that to help me choose items from your website.
I would really like this to be made right by receiving an apology from Darrick (unless something crazy happened in his life like his child or partner dying, in which I would totally understand), and some sort of financial compensation, like an additional discount on the items we ended up purchasing last night. If this isn't made right, I definitely intend to write reviews about my experience wherever I can, share my experience with my FB community (I have many friends who also dive), and not support your business again in the future. However, with an apology and something nice to make up for the experience, I'm happy to forget this unpleasant experience.
Avoid Scuba.com at all costs!
I ordered a dive computer from Scuba.com. After two weeks, I inquired about my order. I was told that UPS tried to deliver my package, but it was not accepted by me. UPS would have left a note at my home, as they have done many times. Although they gave me a tracking number, i think the whole thing was a scam. I asked to have the item re-sent, but kept getting excuses. Now I am having trouble getting my credit card refunded. DO NOT buy from this company under any circumstance!

Terrible customer service ordered two 80lb tanks 2 months ago only one arrived. Immediately contacted UPS and Scuba to make claim. Have gotten nothing but a run around since, keep asking for pictures of a non-existent item that we never received! Tried disputing the order through the Credit Card company, unfortunately it is also handled by the same company so got the same run around! Would never recommend this company worst experience ever!

Bought around 200USD things on this website, using paypal for payment method. No matter what i change address on scuba.com website, the address always change back to paypal address. Try to call them immediately, email them immediatelyand online chat with them immediately, no help from any of them. All the number provided below can't get through even within their service time 11 ET

The online chat person Paula G is on and off during the working hours, it's a shame they can't help out. Finding out the reviews online are terrible during the searching for the solution. In the same time, i found the package i ordered just shipped even though i tried to contact them all the time without any help and technically nobody should work during the time, according to the website faq, after it shipped i can still cancel but need to pay for 1/3 of the total of my products due to it's already shipped. All those numbers in NYC and CA can't get through during working hours for a simple address change and cancellation. No wonder the reviews of this website are so bad

Incredibly disappointed in my experience with this company. I bought a nice pair of goggles due to the return policy and when they didn’t work out it was the biggest hassle to return and they would only give me store credit. Then when I finally went to use it the GC didn’t work due to system issues. I then requested they waive expedited shipping due to the inconvenience. They agreed, but they’re more efforts still fell short as it took too long to resolve the issue and ran out of time. Now they have my money and I have no snorkle gear for my trip. They tried, but apparently their system keeps them from being able to properly take care of clients. They tried, but fell short. Probably will buy direct from AMazon moving forward to avoid an experience like this again they gave my money and now I have to fork over the additional amount to a local store to make sure I am prepared for my buck list trip.

Please don’t trust this cheap company.
I have ordered one watch 200$ ,one swimwear 75$ and three sets of screws 30$.
They delivered me wrong watch and match cheaper ,wrong swimwear that doesn’t exist as a model and probably is fake/not original and one package of the screws.They never informed me that they have delivered me two less packages of screws bug they charged full amount from my bank account.When I received my package and realised this mess ,they just told me that they are planning to deliver my screws one week later.They never responded me why they didn’t inform me for the split out of the order and why while they sent less stuff they charged me full amount.I have order from UAE Dubai and because of international order they didn’t accept to cover the cost of shipping in order to return the wrong products.I spent plenty of time and money for international calls and e-mails and accidentally a lot of dropped calls.After a lot of pressure from my side they promised me that they will figure out my problem with the managers.They never called me and they never responded me in any call or e-mail.They just stole 305$ for products which probably are not original.
Don’t order for this company ,you will lose your money.
Prescription snorkel mask
Ordered a prescription snorkel mask for our son, in preparation for a trip to Florida. Ordered 3 weeks early, to assure that we would receive it in time. Order kept getting delayed. Nobody reached out to me from the company, I always had to initiate contact. They assured me that it would arrive the day before we left and that they would overnight ship it to us (at their cost). Again I heard nothing until I called them, customer service rep said that the shipping department was closed for the night but that they could get it to me in 3-4 days.... mind you this is the day before we are supposed to leave. I’m so furious! Now my son won’t be able to snorkel, and if he does he won’t be able to see much. This company should NOT be in business. I would NOT buy from this company unless you have 6+ weeks to sit around, calling them, hounding them and still not getting your order.

Look elsewhere
As others have mentioned, they inform you that the item is out of stock after ordering and communication and refund service is poor and slow.
Don't even bother
They sell you stuff that is not in stock. Then the order just sits there. When you call, they offer to take off the "backordered" item, but still no shipping... Ended up cancelling
ALL Experiences Have Been Positive (+++++)
I have purchased from this business (SCUBA.COM) several times. In each case, I feel my efforts to buy - I'm not an expert - have been aided by sound technical guidance from and the "opinions" of the "instructor" with whom I was dealing. My most recent contact concerned a mask with missing parts; I called to ask about replacement parts. After viewing photos I sent of a mask strap assembly, Arthur, (my SCUBA.COM instructor) offered a new mask with expedited shipping to my vacation destination. I was able to add a back-up strap for a set of fins without incurring a shipping fee.
I feel my experiences over several years demonstrate that SCUBA.COM offers sound support (without sales pressure), very good prices, prompt delivery, good communication (including identification of backordered items), and a willingness to stand behind the products they sell. I would recommend them (SCUBA.COM) to anyone.

In the past several weeks I've purchased two dive computers from Scuba.com. The first time I worked with Bob and this last purchase I worked with Arthur. What consistently knowledgeable people these are!
They didn't beat me up to talk me into what I didn't want. They helped match me to what I needed.

Return Shipping is On You!!
Don't use Scuba.com if you are buying anything you wear. They don't do free returns on anything unless it's a factory default. Sizing being off is NOT considered a factory default!!! If it's labeled a 10 and it fits like an 11, too bad so sad. There response: "It's Company Policy"

Not a dependable company
First, every order that is placed had some items that were on back order, some for month. No mentioning any back order on the website during the purchase process. Second, ordered an open box computer and it came defected. On the first attempt to start it - an error code for which tech support advised to return the item to whoever sold it. No one bothered to check whether the item was in working condition before shipping. Called scuba.com and instead of apology got a bunch of arrogant cr..p from the rep. I've planned to put a few thousands $$ order with them, too bad, it's gone with a different company.

A Degenerate Operation
I placed a small order (only four items) last Wednesday morning. The goods didn't go out on Thursday. They didn't go out on Friday. The weekend came and went with no change to the order status. Then I find out that Monday was no different. It does NOT take 4 working days to box merchandise for shipping.
This company is quick and efficient to process PAYMENTS, but they are entirely inept when it comes to delivering service. And don't even get me started on their email communication.
I intend to report this to Amazon, which scuba.com relies on for payment processing.
