Regal Relaxation in Blissful Koh Lanta
My wife and I had 3 wonderful weeks at Royal Lanta in 2025. The pool with beach views was our go to and we often had it to ourselves. The other, larger, pool was deserted and we enjoyed languorous dips there – but missed the views of the Andaman Sea.
The restaurant served fabulous breakfasts – the Thai options were always the top choices, and we had no problems with being pescatarians in our choices. They also offer evening meals: you are so spoiled for choice as there are loads of bars and restaurants along the huge (2km) Klong Dao beach. On many evenings different restaurants offer BBQs – and you can choose the fish (utterly delicious snapper amongst others) or meat slices you want cooked.
Thai food is as legendary as the hospitality of its people. Cynics could say that the staff are paid to smile – if that’s true they are a nation of excellent actors.
We had a bungalow which was very spacious with its own balcony. There was both heavenly air conditioning and gentle ceiling fans. The best bit were the mosquito nets – so dreamy sleeping under a cozy net. They probably aren’t crucial as mossies are excluded by keeping doors closed and the strong breeze blown by the fan/AC. But never pass up the opportunity to sleep under nets!
A lovely stay at a superb hotel – can’t wait for the return trip
