They don't have proper customer support only they do AI chat which take 24hr to get a reply, also some delivers are packing too many people in one car which is so uncomfortable

Friday the 18th booked 2 times to Brantford from Simcoe. $28 per ride for 2 people. They took my money. 1st ride canceled booked another it canceled. Money came out of my bank. Never put back in. Im out $56. Stay away..rip off

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using this application. Before booking, I contacted the driver to confirm whether he could pick me up at my address. However, the driver informed me that the application had automatically accepted the booking before he could properly respond.

I do not believe this process is fair or transparent. Users should be given enough time to confirm that the pickup conditions work for them before the reservation becomes final and a cancellation fee is charged. Not everyone knows that a booking may be accepted automatically, especially when this information is buried in the application’s details.

Because the driver could not pick me up at my address, I would have needed to take an Uber to reach the pickup location. This would have made the entire trip cost almost three times more. I had clearly stated that the booking should be cancelled if the driver could not pick me up at my requested location. If I had been given enough time, I could have booked with another driver whose pickup location was more convenient.

Despite this situation, I was charged approximately $17 for a service I did not receive. I consider this charge unfair and I am requesting a full refund. The application should also review its automatic acceptance system and clearly warn users before confirming a reservation and charging cancellation fees.

This experience has seriously affected my trust in the application. This is why I am giving it one star out of five. I am not satisfied with the service or the way this situation was handled.

Very good app and we need to keep supporting Poparide

I have been a customer of the Poparide app for many years and have given it 5 stars on the App Store many times. I still remember using this service to move into my dorm freshman year of university many years ago. And I have introduced and shared this platform with many family and friends. However the recent change regarding the messaging in the app is a bit too restrictive, and at least for me is rather disappointing.

The messaging feature used to be a convenient way to talk directly with the driver before finalizing a trip. It was incredibly helpful for clarifying vague ride posts, requesting the front seat for people with leg problems, arranging extra baggage, or coordinating specific pick ups or drop offs. This was especially important for safety on early morning trips and bad weather conditions, and it is a convenience that sadly can't be used anymore. The rule may have been added for a reason, but personally, I find it rather disappointing.

I am warning all drivers to stay away from this platform. I recently drove a full car for over five hours deep into the night from Montreal to Toronto. Yes I made an administrative mistake on the listing. The app had Yorkdale copied over from a previous trip instead of Scarborough Town Centre. However I communicated this clearly to all passengers during the ride and everyone including the complaining passenger verbally agreed to the STC drop off without a single issue.

Despite driving safely for five hours and getting everyone to Toronto in the middle of the night this one passenger decided to game the system. They waited until the trip was over and filed a complaint stating they had to spend 25 dollars on an Uber from STC to Yorkdale.

Instead of mediating fairly Poparide customer support completely bypassed my side of the story and issued a full 55 dollar refund to the passenger. This resolution is entirely disproportionate. Poparide confiscated 100 percent of my earnings for five hours of my labor gas and vehicle wear just because of an 18 kilometer difference. By the passenger's own admission their inconvenience cost 25 dollars yet Poparide took my entire 55 dollar fare.

They essentially rewarded a passenger with a completely free intercity road trip while I was left with nothing to show for my hard work. If you are a driver looking to cover your gas costs do not trust this app. Their support will steal your money and enable bad faith passengers to get free rides. I am deleting my account and taking my services elsewhere.

Another edit: once more they are adamant I deserve no compensation for this, if so, they can be fair and refund the passenger their booking fee since they are fair. But the fact of the matter they want me to offer a free trip in the name of being just. Drivers are not getting any support for using their resources and they decide on the outcome from their offices when the driver did all the work, how Is that fair again and why is an Ai response à resolution for Poparide??

Update: Support Resorts to Retaliation and Petty Threats When Called Out

If I could lower my rating further, I would. After I pushed back against their senior support team for confiscating my earnings for a 530km trip, they showed their true colors. When they realized they could not logically justify forcing a full refund over an 18km destination difference, they resorted to blatant retaliation.

Instead of addressing the unjust enrichment, their "Senior Champion" tried to intimidate me by suddenly flagging my 5 star profile for "possible commercial activity" simply because I challenged their terrible business practices. When I pointed out that they were failing basic customer retention by losing a reliable driver over a rigid script, they started pettily nitpicking semantics. They actually argued that the people paying for rides are "passengers, not customers" while Poparide happily profits from booking fees on every single transaction without taking any of the logistical risks.

This company will hide behind "community values" and automated policies until you corner them with facts. Once you do, they threaten your account to silence you. I successfully shut down their commercial activity threat and have officially left the platform on my own terms. Drivers, protect your time, your gas, and your vehicle. Do not trust this app with your money.

Update 2: Retaliatory Bans and Hostage Funds

If you need further proof of how this company treats its drivers, look at what happened immediately after I escalated my previous dispute. Because I refused to accept their automated responses and demanded my rightfully earned money for a completed 530km trip, their senior specialists decided to permanently suspend my 5 star account.

Their excuse? They dug through my history and claimed that being accommodating to passengers by writing "time is flexible" violates their speculative trip policy. They completely weaponized their guidelines to silence me simply because I cornered them on their unfair refund practices and exposed their complete lack of basic business math.

I recommend Poparide to everyone cos it makes traveling easier and cheaper.

Poparide is an excellent app and a great alternative to expensive busses or ride shares. I’ve never had any problems with payment or safety

One of the great things I like about the app is you can easily chat with your driver and that detail make you feel safety. Also the the app’s design is well done and looks beautiful

I’ve had a very positive experience as a driver with Poparide Canada. It’s a great platform for connecting with passengers who are travelling in the same direction, while helping cover some of the costs of the trip.

The app is easy to use, communication with passengers is straightforward, and the overall booking process is convenient. I also appreciate the opportunity to meet different people and make long-distance travel more affordable and environmentally friendly.

As a driver, I would definitely recommend Poparide to anyone who regularly travels between cities and has extra seats in their car. 🚗🇨🇦
