Pong Cheese Arvostelua 

I cancelled my subscription (it was a gift for someone) on the website but the status was 'pending'. I left it for a day or two to update and checked again, but it was still 'pending'.

So not wanting to be charged for cheese that I did not want, I had to phone up to find out what was going on. The person I spoke said she would chase Customer Services and the following morning I received e-mail confirmation of the cancellation. I am unclear why this is not an automated process like other companies do?

However, I have been charged to phone Pong to find out why the company had not done their simple job in a timely way. Having read other reviews I see I am not alone in having been charged.

I strongly disagree with the responses Pong representatives have left for other reviewers, the mobile phone company may have collected the charges but only because Pong have chosen to use a number that is chargeable. This is a business decision Pong has taken and it is leaves a bad taste (pun intended). Had Pong done their job in a timely manner this could have been avoided. Overall, a poor customer experience.

Received a box from a friend for my birthday. I have no idea how long it was in transit for as I don’t have any confirmation of dispatch.
Parcel arrived, nicely packaged - good selection.

My friend knows I love cheese so this was the perfect gift. Tucked into the cheese at night. Please bear in mind I didn’t have other food this time.
Literally less than an hour later abdominal cramps and explosive diarrhoea!!!! And I mean almost uncontrollable. I have spent all night and again the morning cramping and then back to the toilet. It’s been absolutely horrendous.
Looking at other peoples reviews there is a chance that the cheese was unrefrigerated for quite some time and now my stomach is paying the consequences. It has completely put me off ever buying cheese online again because that’s a huge risk I’m not willing to experience again.

Great selection on the website but service not good. Ordered as a gift for Father’s Day, it arrived a day later than planned and no longer chilled so some of the cheese was inedible. Emailed to complain 3 weeks ago and heard nothing back

With plenty of time until his birthday I ordered a xl surprise box to be delivered 2 days before needed. Having originally providing them the wrong date staff were so understanding and corrected my error with no problem at all. Helpful staff *****. The despatch date arrived and excitement grew. Guaranteed next day delivery so stayed in all day as I wanted to make sure the heat of travel didn't affect the cheeses. Royal Mail really let this company down, not Pongs fault. Box delivered on the 3rd day and some cheeses were possibly not safe to eat. Communication with staff was excellent and an offer to replace would not be suitable so refund offered. I cannot rate this company high enough, its just the fact that delivery let them down.

A most unhappy experience. We were given gift voucher of £100. The first rude awakening was discovery that unless we spent the whole amount we would loose the amount not spent. So we decided to throw a cheese and wine evening for friends and ordered 10 cheeses. Second rude awakening we were told that although they advertise they will give a free cheese if you order 3 cheeses that didn’t apply for our 10 cheese order. Third rude awakening they advertise free postage orders over £50, because our order amounted just over £100 voucher and we paid the extra, they charged for postage. After some discussion they agreed this ‘seemed’ unfair and they reimbursed the postage. The fourth and final rude awakening was discovering we had been charged over £7 for the phone call to make the order ( their website was not functioning). The cheeses we received were ok but some were replacements and not the ones we ordered. The customer service abysmal. Never again!

Pong cheese has delivered us excellent service over a number of years. We have used them on numerous occasions. The cheeses are excellent and delicious and their customer service has been friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to use their website for ourselves or as gift boxes for friends or family.

Ordered cheeses as a birthday gift for my daughter. Company was really great and my daughter has been thrilled with her gift. There was a delivery problem, which was out of the company's control. but was speedily rectified by the company.

Delivery was quick and efficient. Paid the extra £7 to ‘go premium’ the cheeses I have are nothing special. The ‘Irish porter cheddar’ is especially revolting; maybe an option to not be sent cheese with other stuff added? Either way I can buy more interesting food at the supermarket for a fair bit less. Shame really, I thought this an interesting idea and hoped to have something better than vacuum packed cheddar, much the same as can be bought anywhere.

Excellent! My initial enquiry was answered by return and my daughter-in-law received her cheese in good time to enjoy for her birthday.

The really good prompt response to problems - a small one made by me while ordering multiple lots of cheese for Christmas presents and a big one to due the courier confusing an Edinburgh postcode with a Bath postcode! The reaction to solving these problems was excellent.
The cheese is wonderful too.

Christmas cheese not delivered on very pre-arranged date. 3 phone calls on delivery day before Christmas, to people who would "get back to me" and didn't. No continuity between phone calls, so re-explaining the situation repeatedly. Until I call again and am told everyone's gone home and that's that until after Christmas.
Called since Christmas - told it would be passed on and I would be called back. I haven't been.
Emailed - no answer.

Unfortunately this is not the first Christmas where the order has been late and communication poor, though I have been able to rescue those situations myself by picking up from depots, and I thought I would be nice and give them another chance... but the company has demonstrated they don't deserve chances, or frankly customers.

I ordered £59 worth of cheese crackers and jams made it up as a gift when my husband opened them up 3 was out of date and the other two only had a couple of days left on it . the made by date was October I recieved them 3rd December , I tried phoning it’s like a dead tone so I emailed numerous of times but I haven’t had any response , my husband is a cheese lover so I thought I’d order as he loves smelly cheese but if you don’t have at least 5 days grace on the cheese then that’s not right for the money you pay , unless we get refunded by cheese that’s in date we won’t be subscribing to your subscription which would of been nice as he’s got a subscription with waithwaites wine company

I can’t see that I will ever use Pong again.
I placed an order for a large cheese selection to be delivered before Christmas, and the delivery never happened. This was really frustrating, and meant I had to do an emergency hunt for other cheese just before Christmas. Very annoying, but these things can happen. The reason for the 1 star review is the appalling customer service I have received since then.
When I phoned before Christmas there was nobody in the office other than the receptionist, which meant no one could chase up the delivery company.
I had one response to me emails between Christmas and new year offering to resend the cheese - not very helpful when Christmas was over.
After several more unanswered emails I was offered a credit note, which is a joke. It is now 48 hours since I have last heard from Pong, and I am still waiting for the refund that should have been automatic.
The customer service is appalling, when things go wrong there is no attempt to resolve the situation, and complete silence from them. Avoid.

Poor customer service. Received an out of date Banon (by nearly a month!) and no reply to my two emails as of yet. Very disappointed as rest of the cheese was great but not willing to give more business to a company who ignores me.
Updated 09/01/23 : Pong cheese have been in contact now and refunded the cheese so I decided to up my rating.

I placed an order for Christmas delivery. The order arrived on time but the Cheddar cheese was very moldy. Prior to leaving this review I sent two emails to the company on this subject but as yet I have had no response hence the rating. Shame as the other cheese was very good but quite disappointing not to get any response to my complaint.

This company is AMAZING.....I have to say that I am completely impressed with the very high level of customer service and care offered by the team at Pong Cheese. It is rare to experience such immediacy and responsiveness these days. They were extremely prompt in resolving a recent issue, even though it was clearly not the company's fault, and were more than generous in attitude and gesture. Let down for a Xmas delivery. Paid extra for guaranteed delivery on a specific day. Did not arrive.

No replies to emails from Pong. Courier said waiting to receive item, yet pong site said all delivered.

Had to phone Pong. They have set up a premium rate phone number (£2 for 7 mins), this was the only way to find anything out.

Nothing was resolved, nothing was delivered, Pong refused to refund the call charges.

Won't be able to give them another chance as it seems to petty not to refund the premium rate call charges when so many of my emails went unanswered.

Update: And as said in my unanswered reply to your apology, it you didn't use a premium rate number for your help line, mobile networks wouldn't be adding extra charges. What exactly is the reasoning behind using a number that mobile networks charge extra for, who is this benefiting? Not you, and certainly not me.

Sadly, my Christmas order was badly effected by the Royal Mail strikes so arrived over a week and a half later with the box damaged and the cheese well and truly ponging! The lovely people at Pong are resending the entire package again at no additional charge. Super efficient customer service, well done!
