Absolutely awful customer service and I would review as 0/5 if I could. We will never purchase from this company again.

We ordered a tent from this company last summer which we used twice then stored away carefully. When we came to use the tent again this year (May bank holiday) the tent leaked. In the bedroom portion of the tent there is a black coating inside which was coming away and this was where water was pouring through. The tent supposedly had a 2 year warranty so we contacted in good faith only to be told we must have put it away wet at some point and so warranty wasn’t valid. Despite assuring this company that we had not put it away wet rather than accepting our word and treating this as a faulty product (which I am convinced it is because it has been well cared for and not been stored away wet) they doubled down on their decision and said “Any reviews made maybe deemed lible and we may choose to take further action and we can respond with the evidence shown.” They haven’t responded to my last email when I called them out on this response but from their responses to other reviews on here I’m not shocked by this at all. I felt very much like this was an attempt to prevent me from reviewing them and I think if a company fears reviews so much that they will try to put customers off by threatening taking action for libel then that speaks volumes to me about their ethos and their approach to customer service. I am honestly flabbergasted by it. There are ways to deal with customers and to reach amicable solutions and this was not it. I sincerely hope no one else ever has to deal with this sort of treatment from this company and I would strongly advise that they review their approach to customer services because they are currently lacking in that department as far as I am concerned.

I didn’t “threaten” to damage your reputation. I said that I would take this experience I have had public so that people can be made aware of the poor product and customer service provided. If you feel that will damage your reputation then perhaps you should work harder on your customer service skills. People have a right to know the experience we have had.

You can say that it has been stored away wet all you want but I have told you repeatedly that it hasn’t which is why I am convinced it is a faulty product and nothing will convince me otherwise because I know how the tent has been stored and cared for. And honestly, I feel that the fact that you don’t seem to see how frustrating this is for us is shocking. Rather than empathising with us and trying to find an amicable resolution you became, what I would describe as, stand-offish. The then threat of libel for us sharing the experience we have had with you was the pathetic last straw on the whole thing.

Seriously, this should be a learning experience for you because it has been an absolute masterclass in how not to deal with a customer as far as I am concerned. Have the day you deserve.

Not impressed! Bought a pair of Mountain Equipment trousers and the fit around the knees was not at all comfortable (unlike my other ME trousers). Returned them and requested a refund and find that instead of refunding me the full £49.95 - they have only refunded £47.45. Never ever had this before with any other company. They will definitely be off my shopping list in future.

I ordered a Craghoppers coat at a fabulous price , which arrived quickly and well packaged.

We got 2 craghopper jackets at fantastic prices. Fast delivery. Very happy.

Was the cheapest place I found online for a Jacket and some other small goods, that was before the added bonus of a discount when signed up to the email newsletter!

What really set them apart though was the fact my delivery didn’t go exactly to plan. Had to play find the parcel thanks to a poor Royal Mail delivery but the customer service and speed at which they dispatched the goods and got it resolved was exemplary. It’s easy to make a sale when everything goes to plan but what sets companies like this apart is the human touch of real customer support when things go wrong. Thoroughly recommended.

Let me tell you why I didn't (I intended to and had an item that I took to checkout and once there I deleted it and purchased the same item from somewhere else)

Living in Northern Ireland, there are still a few (very few) companies who charges ridiculous surcharges to send their items - 4 times the amount of the rest of the UK. You are one of these companies.

I know that the courier companies you use do not charge this to send items from the mainland to NI, therefore these charges are unfair.

Ask yourself why many other companies (including your direct competitors) charge the same to send parcels to NI as they do to the rest of the UK. I got the item I wanted from your competitors, paying the same postage costs as they charged to the whole of the UK

Sadly I won't use companies who employ such tactics. Let me know when they change

In response to your reply. I'm sorry you are unable to find couriers that charge reasonable rates to NI (part of the UK), but given your direct competitors do not charge more why not ask yourself why and how they are doing that?

You said it is something you cannot get around. They have! Can I suggest you look at other couriers such as the ones they choose to use when an outsize parcel has to be sent to wider parts of the UK. I always find it 'interesting' when retailers say - 'there is nothing I can do', when their competitors clearly have not taken this approach

I bought Men's Wentwood VII 3-in-1…
I bought Men's Wentwood VII 3-in-1 Waterproof Jacket from outdoor.co.uk and delivered today, poorly packaged, wrinkled, unsmooth and not ironed. Haven't tried the jacket. I had to pay at laundery to iron the jacket. Even though it came as promised 3 to 5 working days.

On Friday afternoon I placed an order for:-
* 2x Mountain Equipment Nava T shirt.
* 1x Mountain Equipment Lumiko Zip T.
* 1x Mountain Equipment Eclipse Beanie.
I received the order via Royal Mail on Monday lunchtime 👍

Great service & a personal touch. Ordered 2 camp beds. They arrived faulty but replacements were sent out within a week!

After a bad experience with C.O. (a main outdoors shop) i decided to try and use a company not on the first page of Google. I ordered a Mountain equipment coat, £60 cheaper than other main sites, and it arrived the day after. Other reviews are critical of the delivery so I thought I'd use some of that saving and pay for DPD. Brilliant service and price

Bought 2 camping chairs on Monday at a really good price. Free standard delivery (as I was over the minimum spend) and they arrived on Wednesday. Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend.

Item was dispatched quickly and arrived promptly. Small issue with Royal Mail...but all sorted. Well packaged and good communication from Outdoor Action.

Our order turned up quickly. Unfortunately one of the items was damaged. No response to my email to customer service. I returned the item at a cost to myself and received a refund. However, no communication or refund on the £7.00 delivery cost. A quick inspection of the item before dispatch would have identified the fault.

Delivery firm was FedEx.

Multiple emails and texts promised delivery between 9am - 1pm.

At 2pm we received further communication: anytime up until 6pm.

Don’t for God’s sake pay the extra for faster postage. A fantastic waste of time and money.

Do they imagine we have nowhere to be? That being stuck waiting for an important delivery for what could well turn out to be 9 hours, if it arrives at all, is absolutely enraging?

Great value for money i always get my outdoor gear from these guys. Very happy indeed

I ordered on a Sunday and was then informed it had been dispatched on Monday..then I was told by the courier it was at their hub on Tuesday for delivery the next day..I waited until 9 days later to be told they had lost it!..got in touch with Outdoor Action and they sent me a new item on the Monday which arrived on Wednesday..I cannot fault their committment and customer relations so would highly recommend them to anyone
