Ongoing Solar Panel Failures and Lack of Accountability
I’m writing this review out of deep frustration and disappointment with Omnidian’s handling of my solar panel issues.
Our solar system has failed twice since we began the lease — first in Spring 2024 (Case #582328) shortly after we purchased our home, and again in July 2025 (Case #00926427) when the system completely stopped producing power for nearly three months.
During this time, we were forced to pay both our regular electricity bills and our solar lease payments — despite receiving no benefit from the panels. The entire purpose of this system was to reduce our energy costs, but instead it caused serious financial hardship.
Omnidian repeatedly told us that compensation could not be expedited and that we must wait for their “rolling performance guarantee,” which does nothing to address the immediate financial strain or ongoing unreliability of the system. We also received messages suggesting the delays were partly our fault — even though we responded and cooperated at every step.
I’ve tried to resolve this issue professionally, even reaching out to the Better Business Bureau and TerraForm SF Echo, the company that owns the panels, but the responses have been dismissive and unhelpful. Omnidian continues to insist that their contract obligations have been “met,” while ignoring the human and financial impact on customers like me.
I am asking — sincerely — for accountability, fair compensation, and reform in how Omnidian handles service failures. No homeowner should have to pay for a solar system that doesn’t work and then be told to simply “wait” for months for any kind of resolution.
I hope sharing my experience helps others make informed decisions and encourages Omnidian to treat its customers with the fairness and urgency this situation deserves.
