Northernlightscarrental Arvostelua 

Periodo di noleggio dal 19 al 22 febbraio 2026. Dal broker dove si è prenotata l'auto in Italia non è stata comunicata l'informazione che dal 1 gennaio era in vigore la tassa governativa di circa 52 euro. La carta di credito dell'amica guidatrice aveva il plafond necessario di 2500 euro mensili per garantire l'auto , avevamo stipulato anche una assicurazione Allianz per coprire la franchigia , e una seconda carta di debito che poteva coprire i 52 euro non è stata accettata costringendoci a stipulare una seconda assicurazione Premium; solo in quel momento sono arrivati nella casella elettronica (nello SPAM per la precisione scoperto giorni dopo) i documenti che oltretutto erano rilasciati da ICERENTAL 4X4 e non da Northern Lights e l'informazione della tassa, ma nel frattempo la seconda assicurazione ci è costata più del noleggio dell'auto. Auto tra l'altro era in pessime condizioni con 355.000 km. il cambio delle marce durissimo , lo sportello del guidatore che non si apriva dall'interno e dovevamo ogni volta liberare noi la guidatrice e un segnalatore del carburante a nostro avviso difettoso che è passato da due linee a rosso fisso nel giro di pochi km. Inoltre è stato riportato nel foglio del ritiro che avremmo percorso 1640 km. quando in realtà ne avremo fatti si e no 600 visto che il terzo giorno siamo andati in tour col bus.Altro dettaglio da considerare... non sempre l'autista del gruppo è quello con più padronanza della lingua inglese quindi la vostra regola di prelevare solo l'autista in aeroporto lasciando tutti gli altri del gruppo ad aspettarlo ore non è sicuramente accettabile perchè avete creato problemi non indifferenti con la comunicazione e la stipula del contratto. In definitiva è la seconda volta che vengo in Islanda ma sono certa che se non cambiate abitudini sicuramente non noleggerò mai più con voi.

La peor experiencia de mi vida.
Llegamos de madrugada con dos niños pequeños en una noche de mucha lluvia y viento tras esperar una hora en el aeropuerto (lo de que tardan 20 minutos es mentira).

Nos entregaron un coche con 400 000 km, destrozado por fuera, el maletero no cerraba y hacía un ruido extraño al circular a baja velocidad.

Volvimos para quejarnos, con la mala fortuna de rozar con la puerta la furgoneta con la que hacen los traslados. Pese a tener el seguro a todo riesgo y hacerles un rasguño diminuto, nos cobraron 2 000 €. O lo pagábamos o nos quitaban el coche, dejándonos de madrugada en medio de la nada, con dos niños pequeños y con un viento y lluvia peligrosos.

Tuvimos que dormir en el coche porque no me atreví a cogerlo sin hacerle fotos por si me culpaban de más daños en el coche. Con la oscuridad y la lluvia era imposible hacerlas, así que esperamos hasta que amaneció.

Al devolverlo, dejé a mi mujer e hijos en el aeropuerto antes de llevar el coche a la oficina por si me volvían a obligar a pagar algo, sabiendo que no iba a hacer caminar a mis hijos hasta el aeropuerto que está a 4 km.

Estuve todo el viaje sufriendo por si nos intentaban volver a estafar.

¡¡¡NO CONTRATEN ESTA COMPAÑÍA, POR FAVOR, POR SU SEGURIDAD. MIREN LAS RESEÑAS Y COMENTARIOS DE LA GENTE POR INTERNET. SON TODAS HORRIBLES. NO COMETAN EL MISMO ERROR QUE NOSOTROS. EN ISLANDIA CUALQUIER COCHE VA A SUFRIR ALGUNA PICADURA O ROTURA DE CRISTAL. LES COBRARÁN MÍNIMO 1 000 € POR ELLO!!!

Mi experiencia con Northern Lights/IceRental 4x4 fue muy negativa desde el principio. Al llegar al aeropuerto, no había nadie para recogernos, y tras intentar contactar, me colgaron dos veces. Después de esperar más de una hora con las maletas, apareció alguien de la empresa, pero solo nos dijo que se llevaba a los conductores y que mi marido tendría que ir por el coche solo.

Además, el coche que habíamos reservado no estaba disponible y nos dieron un Dacia Sandero, que no era lo que habíamos reservado. A los 4 días de uso, se rompió una pieza del embrague. El trato con la empresa fue pésimo, sin empatía ni urgencia en solucionarlo. Nos dijeron que no podían enviarnos un coche nuevo y solo ofrecieron enviar una pieza al día siguiente, aunque reconocieron que este problema ocurría a menudo. Solo cuando amenazamos con afectar nuestras reservas y vuelos, reaccionaron.

Es comprensible que ocurran problemas, pero la falta de atención al cliente y la actitud hacia los turistas fue inaceptable. No volvería a contratar con esta empresa.

Hemos tenido una experiencia muy muy negativa. Nos dieron un coche diferente al que habíamos contratado (con muchísimos kilómetros) y nos hicieron pagar más. Al coche se le rompió una pieza a mitad del viaje y resultaba imposible contactar con la compañía. Cuando lo conseguimos se reían de nostros y no nos daban soluciones.
No la recomendaría en ningún caso. La única experiencia mala de mi vida alquilando un coche.

I believe this company has deliberately scammed me, and I am seeking urgent action and accountability.

Upon returning the hired vehicle, they falsely claimed there was a scratch on the bumper and proceeded to charge my card £880. However, my partner cleaned the area they pointed to, revealing it was merely dirt. Despite this, they refused to admit their mistake and continued with the charge. When we protested, they refused to provide any photographic evidence of the alleged damage after the cleaning.

To make matters worse, they effectively held us hostage by refusing to take us to the airport—a service they were supposed to provide—unless we signed documents under duress. As a result, we missed our flight, causing additional financial loss of approximately £700 on top of the £880 they had already taken from me.

This entire ordeal has caused me significant distress, to the point that I have been unable to sleep and have had to seek medical advice. I feel as if I have been trapped in a nightmare, subjected to a blatant scam that, after researching online, I now realize has affected many others in a similar way.

Strong recommend against. The cars are very poor quality that I question if they are even roadworthy. This company charged my credit card twice without my permission, and then took several weeks to refund one of the charges. All they had to do was call me to sort out any issues but their first solution was to charge my card on file…. twice. It’s worth paying more to go with someone else. Be aware they also operate under the names Icerental4x4.

The experience with this car rental agency was disappointing in every way. The customer service was ineffective and rude, the car was dirty and poorly maintained, and the extra charges were exorbitant. Avoid this agency at all costs if you are looking for a pleasant, hassle-free rental experience.

To start the car was oke they offerd us a bigger car to help us we though that it was very nice of them but time will tell. So after some miles we discovered that the passengers seat head support didn't work well. This is not so bad we could live with this. After our second night the chair broke and the door handel broke off too. We called the head office and the only solution was that we needed to wait a day or fix the car our self. (We had a tight planning) so we tought 15 procent discount was okay but also rooftop tent was rusty and couldn't be closed well (this is dangerous to drive with) this we discovered 2 days in the vacation but okay. ( also the gave us sleeping backs with holes for a price of 55 euro's) the 3 day we had no gas in our canisters so the gave us half filled canisters we payed good money for the camping sets and they were broken or empty. In the second week the real problems came up. The rooftop tent was leaking and the cruise control didn't work all the time also the wipers dint work properly. The most annoying things was that the hole time the car needed a service maintenance at the garage. We thought this will be fixed at the company but the company didn't want to talk and where saying it was our fault. The were threatening to call the police and the set us out. Later when we where discussing we heard a another car of them trying to brake the didn't work properly with a family in it (3 lil kids) so the company sell cars that are not safe. In the end the gave us a lil discount and didn't wanted to help any further. In the end I can say that the car rental is Maby a good options for a day of two if you are with to! If you have a family etc. Than I recommend not to get a car here! If you still get a car here check everything correctly and don't be scared to speak up because the police wil not come to remove you even when they are threatening

I booked a car with CarWiz but Northern Lights Car Rental take care of my rental. Not reccomended: old cars with plenty of Km, one hour waiting time at the airport despite a phone call and final scam with 800 euro taken from the deductible for a exhaust damage due to age of the vehicle since we didn't have any trouble or damage during the rental (in addiction one hour lost). Fortunately autoeurope refund us the deductible without any problems.
