Nordic Car Rental Arvostelua 

I DON'T RECOMMEND , CRUCIAL , AROGANCY DEPARTMENTS , total lack of professionalism . We have years of experience with different rental companies in different countries . NORDIC CAR RENTAL is the worst we have encountered so far. They keep us waiting at the airport for several hours (of course the transfer is charged at 50 euro which we were informed about beforehand). They make us wait for several hours until they kindly appear or not, insinuating that we called them (probably you?). You receive not what you order with an arrogant attitude of the staff. They mislead you by assuring you that you have received what you ordered online. Generally a total customer service failure. Their motto: ‘pay, don't demand and get lost’. To sum up, if you are looking for a rental company with an element of surprise (not to your advantage, of course), total disregard and you want to feel like in the PRL of the 80s, you have found the right company. There are many rental companies of a much higher standard nearby, such as : LOTUS, STAR CAR RENTAL or MYCAR RENTAL. I had no choice but to receive as a gift from my loved ones, unfortunately thanks to NORDIC CAR RENTAL our trip will remain a nightmare and a very bad memory. Therefore I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY...!!!

Horrible service, had to wait hours to get my car, everything was rushed and no explanation of how to use the car was provided ( in this case, how to use the overnight heating system etc.).
When there was a problem with the car I had to call the emergency breakdown number 3 times before in the end someone from the shuttle service picked up, telling me to fix it myself, because they where busy.
When emailing them about this problem I got a useless response at first and have now been getting ignored for over a month.
Complete waste of money, there are much better rentals out there, please spend the 20 bucks extra at another shop, you will get better service.

Driver to and from the airport was surly and rude. Waiting times at the off airport site and for pick ups and drop offs were unacceptable - having arrived at 4am (as advised) we waited an hour to be taken to the airport. Their van seats a maximum of 8, so people have to wait at either end for the unfriendly driver to decide when he’s going to let you ride. Cars (Dacia Dusters) were dirty and in generally poor condition, and they were horrible to drive. We had to have one replaced because one of the doors did not lock, which meant our belongings were at risk. Other staff were helpful, Saulius delivered a replacement car after being unable to locate a repair centre for us to take the deficient car to. Go for an on-airport company if you can.

Local Icelandic car rental companies are in the business of running a well organized fraud by renting out broken cars and then claiming that you customer has damaged the car and charging thousands (Yes thousands of $$$) in damages. AVOID NORDIC CAR RENTAL at all the local car companies.
They dont know what is customer service, it took me 4 hours to rent the car. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, FRAUDELNT Renting Practices.

Avoid….Supposed to pick up car from airport…wrong, shuttle bus to industrial park
Long check in,wrong car to one ordered received “upgrade” to 5yr old 178k on clock nail,dints in it and bits of panel missing,air conditioning didn’t work,juddered in braking,engine management light came on after 1st day.
On returning they forensically poured over it and found a chip in windshield about size of a full stop…resulting in bill of €1700,£1567….
I was travelling alone with my 13 yr old son who became upset as he thought we would miss flight as shuttle bus left without us ,I payed under duress .
Customer next to me was charged $50 for being 2 ltr short of fuel

This company is a stain on Iceland and am in contact with Iceland tourism board and North American tourism.Currently in dispute with credit card company over disgusting treatment.

The staff were very nice and the process was as smooth as it could've been. No problems with the car.

We got picked up from the airport to the car rental place for free. We had some issues with our booking (name of the rental booking was my friend) and me wanting to use my card for the security deposit.

My friend didn't have a credit card so we were stuck, a new car rental booking (new reservation) would cost double the rental fee so we didn't know what to do. After a lengthy conversation with the duty supervisor managed, she managed to honor us a new booking under the price as per the original booking.

We returned the car and the deposit was returned swiftly back to my card. The car was a little run down, but overall we didn't experience any issues. Happy with the booking despite the slight hiccup at the beginning.

When dropping the car off, it was outside office hours so we parked the car outside the rental office and dropped the keys off in the box. We had to take a taxi to the airport (taxis are very expensive in Iceland), it made us realise that it is vital to have a car rental in Iceland if you want to explore this beautiful country.

This is an alternative name for City Car Rental—this company has multiple aliases in an attempt to dodge the many, many bad reviews from people they've screwed over. We booked a car through this company for our trip to Iceland. They made us wait for hours in the airport for our scheduled pick-up, and then hours more inside their agency to actually get a car—at which point they tacked on additional fees wherever they could, including a several hundred dollar charge for going over their mileage limit that anyone leaving Reykjavík would exceed. Do not use this company under any circumstances.

Service was great and I was able to upgrade the car I reserved for a very modest price increase.

Today we got late with car return and we dis not have so much time to get to the airport, neverthless Mr. Haffi from Fair car rental provided us very fast and smooth service with car return which we appreciate! Very proffesional behaviour!

The car was in excellent condition, the staff was kind and operative, the transfer was fast. All in all, we were very satisfied with the company, I recommend it!

After making us wait for 1 HR sat In a crappy office, a very disgusting agent , they asked me for a credit card for a deposit and because mine would work with the limit, they made me pay 29 euros extra per day on top of what I had already paid for the car.. plus they gave me the little crappiest car, all rusty and not even sat nav or anything. The agent was not empathetic at all and treated me badly. The whole thing is a scam.. surely 2/3 people won't have a working credit card and they make you pay the whole thing again.. don't hire this company

Vorsicht vor diesem Anbieter, Abzocke! (und City Car Rental, diese gehören nämlich zusammen)
Auf vielerlei Weisen wurde es versucht, uns abzuzocken.
Von der extrem unfreundlichen Mitarbeiterin wird für die Autos eine Kaution von !!2700€!! von der Kreditkarte abgezogen. Bei den meisten Kreditkarten (wie auch bei uns) ist es gar nicht möglich, einen so hohen Betrag auf einmal abzubuchen und die Rechnung lässt sich auch nicht aufteilen. Daher waren wir gezwungen eine total unnötige Versicherung für über 200€ abzuschließen. (Wir haben mit den anderen Kunden bei dieser Vermietung geredet, alle hatten dieses Problem). Diese wird zwar als "Allround-Versicherung" beworben, deckt aber so gut wie keine Schäden außer Steinschlag ab.
Um zu verhindern, dass wir unsere Bank kontaktieren und den Maximalbetrag der Kreditkarte zu ändern, mussten wir aber stundenlang warten und wurden erst um Punkt 6 Uhr (wenn die Banken geschlossen haben) drangenommen. Dass die Mitarbeiterin dies gezielt geplant hatte stellte sich heraus, als sie hämisch grinsend sagte, es würde keinen Sinn machen jetzt noch anzurufen, da deutsche Banken nach 6 Uhr geschlossen haben.
Wenn du also schon bei diesem Anbieter gebucht hast und das Angebot nicht mehr stornierbar ist, solltest du unbedingt dein Kreditkartenlimit auf 2700€ anheben lassen.
Weiterer Punkt: Wenn man unter 26 Jahre alt ist, muss man zusätzlich 100€ zahlen.

Rimas was INCREDIBLY helpful! We struggled with our initial car rental when we first landed for a week vacation. The service on Day 1 was frustrating. On Day four, we woke to a dead car, not due to anything we had done (door open, light on.. we had checked the night before!). We got a jump, drove back to rental and Rimas helped us without question! He was kind, professional and very understanding!! Thank you Rimas!!!
