Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Dirty Environment

We visited this coffee shop last Monday, hoping to enjoy a quiet drink and something to eat. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

The staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming. We felt uncomfortable throughout our visit, and the way we were treated left us feeling that we were not welcome. We were the only two European customers there, and although I have never experienced racism in my life before, this experience made me feel very uncomfortable and question whether we were being treated differently because of our background. I cannot say for certain, but the way we were treated was unacceptable.

The food was disgusting and seemed poorly prepared, which made the experience even worse. The cleanliness of the place was also shocking. Our table was in a corner near a heater that was covered in dust. The walls had visible marks and stains, and the room looked very dirty and poorly maintained. The tables were sticky and wobbly, making it unpleasant to sit and eat.

We came in simply wanting to relax, have a quiet drink, and enjoy some food, but the poor service, unhygienic surroundings, and uncomfortable atmosphere completely ruined our visit.

Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. The staff need to improve their attitude towards customers, and the establishment urgently needs to address its cleanliness and food quality. I would not want to return, and based on this experience, I would not recommend this place to others.

It was a lovely experience shopping at this garden centre during upgrading the look of our house and garden.

I went to newbank garden centre today and I was very pleased I was buying stone for the garden and Kerry was good enough to get it for me and take it to the till and then a very kind you man put it in my car for me I was very impressed and would highly recommend

Having visited the coffee shop for lunch today with my husband. we were very disappointed with lack of menu items available ( yes it was lunchtime) my husband wanted a jacket potato with curry ( a menu item) no curry. He then chose the chilli option, I then asked for a prawn jacket. No prawns I said ok I’ll have the ploughman’s lunch oh no we’ve not had that for about 4 years ( ploughman’s was on the chalk board!) I ordered a ham sandwich and soup- sandwich arrive ham and lettuce! Bread was very dry. husband said chilli was very bland no taste

New bank Garden Centre Radcliffe. Provided excellent service for a large order of plants and trees, young man was very helpful and careful with the plants. Arranged delivery which came on time, called 40 mins before and the delivery men were very polite and helpful carrying all the plants, some very heavy to where I needed them in the rear garden. All plants in good condition. Prices are great, got a real bargain Olive tree. Wide range of good quality plants, furniture and home items. I've eaten at the cafe a few times and food was good quality and tasty, staff team helpful

I had a lovely experience, the lovely young girl Lyla was smiling and engaged in chat with my young niece and my niece continued to say how she wanted to go and see Lyla again after leaving, she was really accommodating with any questions my partner had and made sure everything was perfect and had everything for our new garden before we left. The cafe was wonderful. And what a lovely walk round the canal after we had that’s located next to the centre. The value of the place was average and what we would of expected with the location of the centre and the wait time was not long at all to say it was quite busy and even waiting with a 2 year old.

We ordered the Hartman Sahara lounge set online and it was delivered by a pallet courier company only a few days later. The Hartman packaging was so good.
The communication with the customer service at Newbank Garden Centre via the website chat line was also excellent and it was no trouble at all for them to assist me when I was unable to make the arrangements with the pallet courier company.
We are very pleased with the lounge set and it was no trouble at all putting it all together.

This has been my local garden for most of my life and I am amazed at the low reviews.
I have always found staff and service to be great having bought multiple large expensive items from them over the years.
I have just bought one of their 3m x 3m pergola off the to match my outdoor life furniture. The quality of it is first class. It came with easy instructions and I know that it will wear well with time. It came in at around £2k cheaper than other companies which were not a patch on the quality of Harbour. Highly recommend this product and Newbank Garden Centre.

Bought 2 bucket seats for summer. One of the chair legs snapped off one less than a month after use, the staff were fantastic in customer services, they couldn't have been more helpful. They had it replaced within a day..honestly did not expect them to be so good. Thank you so much!

I visited the Dobcross garden centre today and found a a fabulous range of plants. I bought a selection of trailing plants for my hanging baskets There was a great range of housewares too, all very reasonably priced.
Staff were really helpful and I didn't have to wait long at the tills. I would definitely recommend visiting this branch.

Superb range of plants and garden extras, but interaction with staff on different occasions, particularly at the check-out leaves a feeling of disappointment. Whilst not quite being surly, staff on the tills make it clear they are doing us a favour in their being there. Most recently I was rebuked for being in the wrong place in the cramped checkout area. It has gotten to the point where, despite spending hundreds of pounds on different occasions, we are taking our business elsewhere in future. Sad, but I don’t want to be chastised by someone who I’m giving money to.

The food is great and piping hot.

I chose a garden dining table and chairs for Newbank Garden Centre in Newton-le-Willows. I went into the store on Sunday morning and spoke to a member of staff who efficiently took our order and arranged for delivery the next day. No charge for delivery, unlike other places we visited. 10.30am next day the order arrived by 2 friendly delivery men who took the items through to my back garden. Excellent service, would definately use them again.

Not dog friendly as most garden centres are. If you order something to eat or drink, you have to sit outside and eat it. In minus 2 degrees, no thanks. Bents, Birkacre and many more are dog friendly. Won't be going again

Shocking experience today.
Staff not interested. 4 staff behind counter. 3 drinking and their phones. Food quite expensive. Buckets catching water and wet floors. I paid cash, which was a mistake. They didn't have enough notes and wanted to give me £4 in 20p 10p etc. She suggested I go to the garden centre to change my note ! I offered to pay by card. This wasn't possible. I sat down and 2 minutes later another member of staff came and put more change in the till. 1 Why couldn't that have happened before and 2 why couldn't one of the 3 staff go to the garden centre side and change the note, or 3 why couldn't I use my card! All the assistant did was argue with me! Also when she delivered my food, it was just thrown down ! No customer service! No sauces etc offered. The other 3 were still on phones and drinking.

I was a regular visitor for garden supplies and coffee and cake however never agaiinThe cafe manager is a disgustingly rude person no customer skills and definitely has no customer care on several occasions he has been very rude towards me and family and I have observed him being the same with others AVOID at all costs Tried to sort this out with manager Roxanne absolute waste of time very poor company

Says on the internet that this place is dog friendly. Made a special journey today and then a sign in the door said 'No dogs allowed'. So they lost a big sale and we had a wasted journey. Found a lovely garden centre that is very dog friendly not far from us. Won't be going to Newbank Royton again

After reading reviews and contacting regarding my concerns before placing an online order. I can honestly say, they were amazing. Checked stock, advised estimated delivery date. Courier company used by them excellent too. Prompt, informative and helpful when delivering.
I can honestly say my experience with them was 10/10 from start to finish.

If you’re ordering garden furniture don’t expect any communication, customer service or delivery time frame. Spent £1,200 with them. They are near impossible to get on the phone, don’t reply to emails and don’t answer contact forms on their website. Took over 3 weeks to get my item delivered despite knowing they had it in stock. However it did arrive and was a very good price. Would I use them again, probably not. Spent too much time trying to find out where my furniture was.

Called in this afternoon just before 3 pm Ordered 2 slices of cake and 2 coffees for £16.50. We had the distinction impression that they were about to close as half the staff were leaving. Our cakes arrived on the smallest of plates with them hanging over the sides therefore pieces kept falling on the table. Next a young girl came out and started sweeping the floor and between customers feet and smiling as she did it, and then went over the same areas again before leaving the debris in front of the counter. I found this totally unacceptable and will not be visiting the Royton branch again
