Excellent service ! Easy to use website , follow up customer service was very good

The purchase from MowDirect was to replace a ride on mower which had done 15 years service and needed some extensive maintenance to keep it going. The one I decided on was far more superior to my last machine. I ordered it and was surprised at the free delivery service. It arrived in a timely manner was well packed on a metal pallet come cage. I knew that the mower could be sent to me ready built for a cost. I decided that with an engineering background I would be able to manage adding any items necessary to make the machines useable. I only had to add the steering shaft, steering wheel, seat, and connect the battery.

I must admit that the instruction manual is lacking as far as which fixing is used for a particular component. It was a good job I knew what the grooved hollow metal tube with a sharpened end was used to fix the steering shaft to the bit already assembled. This needed to be hammered through the the holes at the bottom on the steering shaft after a flat disc was placed on the bodywork. A few photographs showing what was needed and how they looked at each part of putting the machine together would work wonders. The diagrams in the manual are not all that clear in this regard.

After assembly I decided to run the machine after using the supplied oil to refill the engine. I was surprised that the machine would not at first run. In the manual it mentioned placing the battery in its position. As far as I was concerned the battery was in position. Nowhere in the manual does it say by pushing the back of the seat backwards, the engine compartment will become easy to get at. When I did this finding the battery cover and finding after following the cables I discovered that a double connection still needed to be connected. In the manual it only shows a diagram of what looks like a single wire, also the reference to fitting the battery threw me. Had this been removed from the manual and instead made reference to the fact that the battery was fitted and that a double wire needed to be connected once the seat is pushed back to open the housing to the engine compartment then the engine would have responded and fired up saving me a lot of trouble. I hope this has helped any future buyers. The engine is quieter than my previous machine and also it looks as if maintenance will be easier to do due to the seat housing being able to be lifted out of the way. I can't wait to put it through it's paces once the grass cutting season starts.

Everything was good except the label on the aerator / scarifier height gauge on right hand upright was the wrong way around which caused me some confusion! I unstuck it and turned it the right way around! Please have the supplier check their production process to ensure this is not happening on all sales!

Saturday am spoke to Josh (POC) Point of Contact, on the blower. I explained what I required & for what purpose. Josh actioned my request and said I would receive the item the following Tue/Wed. Must say Josh was polite, positive, & efficient. A good man to have on your Team. Wed am I received a text from DPA stating the item would arrive 08:12 hrs that day. Standing by our Double Gate awaiting for Billy the DPA chap to drop the item off. However, Billy sailed past me... he couldn't find the our address, no worries. DPA later contacted me & the item was despatched to our local Post Office & I received the package the following day. Really delighted with item and how it was packaged, it looks the business and I have every confidence it will perform as it should. Too windy at the current time to be topping trees. I saw a recon Racing mower advertised that met my needs and initially was impressed by the "helpful" responses to queries, and made a purchase with 4 figure c/c payment with some queries pending.
Among other problems:
Was told it could only go on the flat and there were no manufacturers guides as to slope. Suggested I'd be better buying other mowers (, more expensive)
Found download of user manual which specified operational slopes which were fine !! Just a lie to up price of purchase or ignorance ??
Tried to get a manual download from them that they said would do, but failed
Arrived on delivery date and their man was unable to start it. Supposed to have been reconditioned and checked before delivery !!!! was returned.
Failed to get responses to what the problem was,
Advised to mow across the slope to overcome (non existent) slope problem - unsafe and contrary to manual instructions.
Lost patience and arranged a refund to be made promptly before my card payment fell due - all agreed, but no refund was triggered so money was taken .
Money was returned after further demands and phoning.
Sad ,- on the face of it mowdirect should be a good port of call but my experience says avoid - especially for machines that do not provide a service back up or even basic data to allow yiu to maintain yourself.

Instructions are a bit basic! so you need basic mechanical knowledge

Wow, what a great service. This is my third purchase of garden machinery from MowDirect. Each purchase has been easy, straightforward and stress free. This purchase I received an email requesting when would be convenient for them to deliver. Alex the delivery sriver was ace! Phoned to let me know he was delivering, was so polite and helpful, even moved the heavy box from my door into the back of my van for me. Excellent service.

absolute rubbish back up when things go wrong, at well into 4 figures I purchased a racing sit on mower, after a hand full of uses and well within the warrenty period, it stopped as if it had no fuel in it. Our gardener tried all the basics, but it appeared as if it was an electrical issue. Phoned mow direct only to get fobbed off with they will call me back. But never did call back.
Every time I call it another excuse fob off or something different.
Now after endless fob off emails, the latest they want me to pay them £150 to collect it, take it and depending on what they find I might, just might get my £150 back.
In my opinion I would have had better after sales service had i bought a used one for a fraction of the money in an auction.

I have a Racing mower from Mow Direct and it's really good, so I wanted the leaf blower/vacuum by the same brand. Well, it arrived with a two-pin euro plug fitted on a very short flex, so you need an adaptor for use outside. This wasn't mentioned anywhere in the description or tech specs, and it really should be, and your shaver adaptor really won't cut it. A few emails later and I've had to buy a specific extension for it (£20 I wasn't plannig on spending), but the irritating thing is that there's no attempt to address the main problem - inadequate description and supplying a product without a suitable fused, sleeved plug for UK use.

A Cautionary Tale for prospective buyers.
I bought a FEIDER pressure washer, petrol powered. It failed from the off - it would blow off the high pressure connector any time I tried to use it. A refund was agreed and I was charged £ 45.00 carriage and a 25 per cent restock fee.
This refund was NEVER PAID with claims of fire closure etc but they are back selling again.
I have yet to get a reply to my recent e-mail over this unpaid refund and I am out
£ 275.00 with no machine at all.
You may wish to ponder my tale if you are looking to buy from them.
