I am writing this as a parent whose children both used MedSchoolCoach. This may be lengthy, but I want to take a minute to express how grateful I am to each person on our team for the incredible support and guidance they provided to both of my kids during their journey to medical school.
MedSchoolCoach's advisors are not just highly experienced, but they also genuinely care about each student they work with. Dr. Susan Choo, the advisor for both of my kids, is the most wonderful, compassionate woman and both of my kids loved working with her. Her years of experience as a practicing physician were insightful and comforting as she helped us navigate the process from start to finish. She took the time to understand my children's unique strengths and weaknesses and crafted plans that were personalized and well laid out. She was there at every turn, always checking in and making sure the kids were not just on track but checking on their mental health as well.
Darlene Holt, their writing consultant, was just as impressive. She helped my children refine their personal statements and application essays, making sure that their applications stood apart from others and were not just compelling but also true expressions of their passions. I know my kids often felt overwhelmed and lost with the task of writing dozens of essays, but Darlene was always there with an ear to listen and a calming and supportive voice. Her feedback and guidance were always encouraging and geared toward helping them present themselves in the best light.
The kids’ MCAT tutor, Dr. Ken Tao was extraordinary. My kids are drastically different when it comes to studying and Dr. Tao was able to design study plans tailored to each of them individually. His knowledge when it comes to the MCAT is second to none. When my kids sat for the exam, they were confident and sure of themselves which is half the battle.
I could not finish this review without bringing attention to the head of enrollment, Michelle White. Words cannot describe the degree of personal attention Michelle commits to each student. Before deciding to sign up with MedSchoolCoach I spoke with Michelle countless times. Each time she was patient, friendly and extremely helpful, answering every question I had. She really took the time to get to know everything about both of my kids so she could help place them with the support she felt would be the best fit for each of them. We worked with the team for over a year and whenever I had a question as a parent, Michelle was there.
I honestly cannot speak highly enough about the experience of working with Michelle, Susan, Darlene and Ken. Every one of them is extremely knowledgeable, warm, supportive and excellent at their jobs. Without their guidance and support I do not know if I would be sitting here writing a review about both of my children achieving their lifelong dreams of going to medical school. I know what a daunting process applying to medical school is and having a team behind you like MedSchoolCoach can really make the difference between receiving acceptance letters versus denials. If you have a child applying to medical school, I cannot recommend a better service.

The company is doing well in terms of mock interviews. With the platinum package, being able to do unlimited interviews is great. They do 30 minutes of an interview and 30 minutes of feedback and go question by question in a detailed manner.

You can learn a lot from these sessions.

You know that feeling when you or a loved one has a health crisis and you feel panic? Then, you see an expert physician who just knows the path ahead of you then reassures you everything will be okay. It’s absolutely liberating.
I had spent thousands of dollars applying to medical school on my own and did not get accepted anywhere. In fact, I didn’t get an interview anywhere. I had a future career crisis and thought I would have to go back to college and pursue an alternate path. It felt similar to a loved one in a health crisis.
In came med school coach. Specifically, Dr. Weintrub, who is an advisor. After he mapped out how we were going to get me an acceptance, I had the exact same comfort and peace when an experienced physician cares for you or a loved one. I felt hope and confidence.
The difference between med school coach/Dr. Weintrub vs. any other medical school advising company is the result. Anyone could trick you and provide false hope to get you into medical school. The difference here is that Dr. Weintrub actually helped me get into medical school. How? He didn’t write my essays. He didn’t give me money to apply to more schools. He didn’t make a phone call to some admissions committee to get me in. He simply has the expertise and experience with medical school admissions to provide strategies that work.
Prior to my work with Dr. Weintrub, I was a failed medical school applicant who was about to change career paths. Today, I am putting on a white coat and pursuing my dream of providing healthcare to those in need. Yes, I did the work with college performance, countless hours of volunteering, and hundreds of application essays. But Dr. Weintrub gave me confidence, hope, expertise, and friendship that I desperately needed as a reapplicant. He was always available for me and he always had reassuring answers. I would do the whole tedious and exhausting marathon of medical school applications again if I had Dr. Weintrub by my side. That’s how much I enjoyed working with him. I would recommend med school coach, specifically Dr. Weintrub, to anyone who is serious about getting into medical school. That man is indeed an expert. So yes, I give this company and Dr. Weintrub 5 stars. I would give them more stars if possible all because they helped me achieve my dream!

My interviewer, Dr. Chopra, was great! It was a great mock process and I definitely felt really much much better going into the real thing.

I cannot believe I got in! Seriously, I could not have done it without MSC. 506 MCAT and 3.4 GPA - thought I had an outside shot at best, but my advisor really completely help me revamp how I went about the process and it worked. The software they use was great, although sometimes buggy, to keep things on track and communication but what I really found that was amazing were all the people. I talked to a few companies, but from the start it felt different with medschool coach and it really was. Everyone was fantastic and felt like they really cared about my success and here I am! In!

Dr. Flynn identified my weaknesses for my MMI interview and provided useful strategies to help me improve. The entire session was super productive with a wealth of information! I would highly recommend her.

My son went from zero interviews and zero offers to 8 interviews (so far), 5 offers and 2 wait lists. Still waiting to hear back from about 50% of the schools he applied to. He has obviously heard no from a handful, but that is to be expected. Neither his grades nor MCAT changed from one year to the next. They helped revise his application and prep for interviews. Worth every dime.

UPDATE: More schools are asking for interviews at this late stage (March) of the process. Still a handful that have not responded one way or the other. This could come down to the wire, but in a GOOD way!
Again, my son's test score and GPA did not change from one year to the next. Med School Coach made the difference.

I had a negative experience with this medical school coaching program. I found that the advisors did not meet my expectations in terms of qualifications. Additionally, I was initially informed that my payment would be fully refundable, but I did not receive a refund for my first installment. I would recommend thoroughly reviewing the program's policies before enrolling.
