Very easy process. Heather went above and beyond to get my claim pre approved with very little notice. She was extremely helpful. Simple process just 1 form to fill in and a few evidence documents. Payment was sent within 3 days of me completing and sending forms. Definitely an insurance worth having

An insurance company's rating has to be based not on how easy it is to take out a policy, or even the price of the policy (all important, of course), but what happens when something goes wrong.

I unfortunately had to make a claim recently to go back for revision surgery and they did not make me go through hoops or question the surgeon's assessment that a revision was necessary - the reimbursement process for my expenses was transparent and simple.

I was paid within ONE day after sending in all my receipts. If only they did home insurance!

Getting insured with Medical shield was very easy and gave me peace of mind, fortunately I didn’t have any problems so didn’t need to contact them, non the less, I was happy with the cover offered

Do not trust this company. I contacted them in January to get a claim form . I could not open link. I rang and spoke to them and they said not to worry I would receive it. I’m now in Lithuania, post revision surgery sending e mails. Louise from claims is saying she’s not receiving my emails. Now saying because I don’t send proof for a clam before I left UK I’m not covered. I said pull out the recording of me telephoning saying I couldn’t open email but so it’s in their favour they don’t record phone calls . I’m not the only one here at the clinic 2 other patients have had no pay outs so everyone is going to agree to warn other people on nordes Facebook not to use them . The emotional stress I’m feeling is overwhelming.

The policy was simple enough to take out - not had to use it fortunately so far, but felt better for having the cover if needed

I was very confident traveling to Turkey for dental work once I knew that I had my medical travel insurance. It was very helpful to my confidence to know that just in case there would be any problems, having insurance meant that I would have access to addressing them. So far, I have had no issues, but was very pleased when Medical Travel Shield contacted me on my return to see if I needed to make a claim.

I just returned from a second visit to WestDent Clinic in Izmir, Turkey.
The first trip was for full mouth extractions, the installation of 12 Zirconia implants (6 upper jaw, 6 lower jaw) and gums stitched over the implants to help Osseointegration.
The second trip was for the final treatment, including the installation of 24 Zirconium crowns.
I made sure to get the correct travel insurance beforehand, and used Medical Travel Shield for both trips.
I would highly recommend taking out the correct insurance when traveling abroad for elective medical treatment.
It is definitely worth it for the piece of mind it provides.
I would definitely recommend this company to anyone!

Having used medical travel shield for the first time for travel insurance where I was attending for cosmetic surgery I was very impressed with the overall price, ease of use and service.

During my surgery I required some additional treatment which wasn’t covered by my original planned cosmetic service package.

I had secured invoiced and medical report from the surgeon and liaised with medical travel shield afterwards to request a claims for.

Laura within the claims team was excellent, quickly consulting with me around what information was required, any additional information that may be required/needed prior to submission and this resulted in my claim being accepted and paid out within 48 hours of submitting the claim.

A huge thank you to Laura in the claims team, the service offered by medical travel shield and the peace of mind knowing I had cover for my surgery whilst away.

I would throughly recommend medical travel shield to anyone choosing to travel for cosmetic/elective surgery abroad. Hopefully you will never need to claim, however, the peace of mind knowing they are there to cover any unforeseen circumstances is worth the extra money.
