Poor claims experience. I would not recommend MB&G GAP Insurance.

My GAP claim has now been ongoing for over a month, and the level of communication and delay has been completely unacceptable.

Throughout the claim I have repeatedly been asked for documents and evidence that I have already provided, including photographs of both keys and a police letter. Every time I submit what is requested, another delay follows instead of any meaningful progress.

The market value of my vehicle (£21,740) has already been reviewed and confirmed. My motor insurer, Allianz, has settled the claim, and I have supplied the settlement details exactly as requested. Despite this, MB&G have continued to delay the process.

I was then told that because of the value of the claim it had been referred to management for review, with a timescale of up to five working days. Those five working days have now passed. After chasing for an update, I was simply told that a follow up email would be sent. Nothing has happened.

As a customer who has paid for this policy, I expected support when I actually needed to make a claim. Instead, I have spent over a month chasing updates, resubmitting information and waiting without any clear explanation.

Insurance is meant to provide peace of mind, not create additional stress at an already difficult time after losing a vehicle.

I sincerely hope MB&G resolve this claim promptly, but based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend them. If you are considering GAP insurance, make sure you understand how the claims process works before purchasing.

I am still waiting for my payout in which 1 month has now passed.

UPDATE: Thank you for finally approving my claim, i have updated the rating accordingly which i feel is fair.

Would give lower if possible, l have been trying to get my recliner chair fixed since March 2026, Claim made under furniture warranty provided by this Company . New motor required, told part would take up to 12 weeks to arrive as would be ordered by furniture Company , no stocks held in this Country, Complaint about poor service made, Response to complaint , this not their problem. Passes from pillar to post between furniture retailer , insurance Company and Service Company, Still no resolution,

Excellent customer service, Sandra Williams patiently explained the policy I was looking at to me, and wasn't pushy. I am happy to recommend this company, and in particular, Sandra!

I made a claim for a pothole claim and it's impossible to get a claims decision. The Senior Claims Handler, is asking for evidence now within the Policy (such as pictures of the tyre tread) and constantly questioning every statement made.

Raised my dissatisfaction with him via email. No complaint raised. Asked on several occasions for a claims decision/outcome and i just get asked more questions.

Multiple unreasonable claims barrier put in place - against Consumer Duty. Unwilling to raise a complaint. Shocking service

I would not recommend this company I have been waiting over 3 months on a simple claim that is still no closer to being resolved. I had to wait over 2 months to get an appointment for the assessment. And I’m in the 5 th week of waiting for a decision. Ridiculous

Had cover with MB&G on my previous Motorhome. Bought a newer Motorhome through Spinney (Knutsford) who use MB&G for the first years warranty cover. Had a problem with the habitation heater, sorted through the insurance no problem whatsoever. I have just spoken to Neil at MB&G to set up continuation of the cover. What a guy, very polite, friendly and helpful. Explained everything very clearly and made the process so easy. I took out the Gold cover, which covers mechanical, electrical, water ingress, lamination,, habitation problems. Got it on monthly DD and the big advantage is that I can suspend the cover for a month or longer if I am not using the Motorhome during that period. Cost of all this is £35 p/m - well worth it when you consider what parts and repairs cost now.
Highly recommend this company. Brillisnt.

I have been waiting over 6months for my french doors on my holiday home to be repaired. i have sent email after email they do not get back to you, i have even explained that there is a heatwave they are not interested. i have never in my life had such bad service, if you are reading this review do not use them it is a waste of your money they will not get back to you. i will be taking it further.

This policy was so easy to renew, one quick phone call and I my cover was renewed. Neil Gray the guy who took my call was really helpful and explained everything clearly. Would definitely recommend this company

MB&G acting as administrator for Goldshield warranty for a static residential park home are bad beyond belief. They have fabricated clauses that don't appear in the original documentation. Then they have refused a claim blaming the manufacturer (Statley Albion) for not building the park home in accordance with BS 3632. This is a company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority yet there actions appear underhand in the extreme.

Neil who dealt with my call was so helpful, he dealt with the query I had, and also set up a new policy for me.
