Luxarental Arvostelua 

During the first few years, we had a good relationship with this estate agency and, precisely because of that trust, we decided to organise our family holiday with them again this year. We had a confirmed reservation that had been booked a year in advance.

However, just one week before our arrival, they cancelled our reservation, giving us different explanations relating to the owner and the situation of the property. The explanations were unconvincing and kept changing.

What has disappointed us the most is not only the cancellation itself, but also the way the situation has been handled afterwards. A reservation that had been confirmed for a year was cancelled just days before our holiday and, when we tried to find a solution and claim the additional costs this situation caused us, we simply stopped receiving any response.

We have tried to contact the agency several times and asked them to at least cover the additional costs resulting from a cancellation made at such short notice, but they now do not even answer the phone.

Furthermore, according to the applicable regulations in Andalusia for tourist accommodation, when the operator cancels a reservation less than 10 days before the scheduled stay, they must refund the deposit and compensate the customer with 30% of the agreed price of the stay.

After several years of trusting this agency, we find it particularly disappointing to now be faced with a situation like this and, above all, with a lack of clear explanations and willingness to resolve the problem.

I believe it is important to share this kind of experience so that other people can make their own decision about the risks of booking with a company that can cancel a confirmed reservation just one week before a holiday and then fail to respond to complaints.

I do not recommend this agency. Before making a booking, I strongly advise checking the cancellation terms very carefully, and in particular, what happens if the agency itself cancels the reservation.

Booked an apartment with this company 8 months in advance for summer 2026. When we arrived due the ground floor apartment we booked had been changed. They told use it was due to a water issue (Lie 1 ). Someone else was staying in this apartment they told use it was the owner (lie 2). They had rented it out to someone else. The apartment they offered us smelt of cigarettes and was dirty. No key phob for the gate as the last customers had taken it. They then told booking.com that they offered us two other apartments which they hadn’t. Lie after lie. They are rude when you complain. Didnt stay here snd money back . My advice would be stay clear of Luxarental Benalmadenda there us certainly nothing luxury about them.

Absolutely loved this place. From the moment we arrived everything felt easy and relaxed. Check-in was simple, the apartment smelled fresh and clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable after long days exploring the city. We especially enjoyed having coffee in the morning by the window. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

First impressions.

Firstly, no mention in the details of the apartment that it was second floor with no lift and 4 flights of stairs to negotiate with large suitcases. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as are my wife and I ( both in our 70’s ).

The name of the company is Luxarental and the online images suggested a very nice, well presented apartment. In reality ,very different.

Cleanliness. A £65 cleaning charge is made when booking. Why?
The 1st thing we did when we unpacked was to clean the apartment floors and worktops. Also had to purchase cleaning products to scour the kitchen sink as this had not been cleaned properly for some time.

Heating.
Given that we were there for 4weeks over December and January I had assumed that all the rooms would have some kind of heating. There was one ineffective air conditioning unit in the main living area and nothing else.

Towels and bedding.
The towels supplied were white at some point (when they were new ) I guess but somewhere between white and grey when we arrived. A 60 degree wash made some improvement. No change of bedding. So take off, wash, dry and put back on the same day. Not ideal. Pillows old, worn, useless.

Washing machine.
Although efficient it was not a cold water supply only as with most modern appliances and therefore used up all of the hot water supplied by the old immersion boiler so shower first before doing any washing was the rule.

Bedroom one. Mould on walls. Wardrobe doors with no handles. Cracked or broken floor tiles. Ridiculous amount of thick dust on top of wardrobe as discovered when putting my cases up there to store.

Kitchen. Lack of utensils. No bread knife, no sharp bladed knife, no fish slice, no large serving spoon and odd numbers of plates, dishes etc.

Balcony. Awning covered in mould.

Having frequented many air bnb’s this ranks right at the bottom.
Needs total updating and refurbishing.
Would not recommend Luxarental based on this stay.

We verbleven in luxarental benalmadena 4hab, Er is duidelijk een vochtprobleem in het huis, in de keuken zijn er vochtplekken op de muur. In de studio en de master bedroom ruikt het ook heel erg naar schimmel. De verlichting van het zwembad werkteniet en de planken rond het zwembad waren op verschillende plaatsen stuk, zeer gevaarlijk om je te verwonden. Er zijn vliegenramen aanwezig maar de meeste zijn stuk. In de keuken zijn er maar net genoeg borden en de meeste daarvan zijn gebarsten. Van 2 van de 3 toiletten is de toiletbril niet goed vastgezet. De gordijn in de keuken is heel vuil. En ook de badkamers waren niet tip top gepoetst. Het huis kan zeker wat extra onderhoud en opknapbeurt gebruiken. Zeker de benaming luxary niet waardig. We hebben teveel betaald voor wat we hebben gekregen!

We rented a house via Luxarental from May 15th to 19th, 2025, and it was a complete disaster.

There were insects literally everywhere – inside the house, in the furniture, and especially in the swimming pool, where the tiles were loose and the bottom was filled with dead bugs. The air conditioning on the first floor didn’t work. The beds looked like they were borrowed from a prison, and the terrace was full of cigarette butts – unacceptable with a 3-year-old child.

After just 12 hours, we had to flee the house for health and safety reasons. When I later returned to collect a toy and leave the keys properly, the landlord had locked the house with a metal gate – without notice. They refused to come out or respond.

Four weeks later, a Luxarental employee contacted us, offering to refund the €500 deposit only if we signed a confidentiality agreement. I refused, and they withheld the money.

Booking.com has been equally disappointing – generic AI replies, broken promises, and no real support despite my Genius 3 status, which appears to be worthless when real issues arise.

Two months later, we have received nothing back – no deposit, no refund – despite having full documentation, pictures, and recordings. We’ve now hired a lawyer and will be warning others through every possible platform.
