Called after letting policy lapse…
Called after letting policy lapse (vehicle has been out of xommision and sorn). Mohammed was very helpful and was able to access my previous details. Still took rather a long time, but the availability of info did make it easier. Also I have a £14.32 refund credit from previous year, which I tried to claim, but as this was in effect a new policy, it was not able to be applied.
Mohammed Wajid was personable, knowledgeable and relatable, making a, for me, daunting task a more comfortable one. Thank you.

Cannot offer modified 4x4 cover as advertised.
25 minutes spent on the phone giving details about my lightly modified 2004 Land Rover Defender, otherwise a squeaky clean driver, no convictions, 13 years no-claims - and they couldnt offer me anything despite clearly advertising that they offer insurance for modified 4x4s and specifically land rovers...
2 stars because the call handler was very polite and as helpful as she could be.

Possibly the worst insurance experience…
Possibly the worst insurance experience I've had within the UK.
Why? Firstly, because, unlike all other insurers that automatically check NCB etc etc, these guys want to offer favourable rates, then, seek to engage in an endless back and forth, whereby (and yes I'm not making this us), checking TEN YEAR OLD google map images to claim that the property doesn't have a garage (it has three, verified after they checked a recent image and, yes AND, insisted I send them countless images from inside the garage, which I did).
Then, they insist on charging additional payments as my prior insurer was dealing with a Non Fault Claim (vandalism, under CCTV). So, several hundreds of pounds are sent in addition.
Next..
They require a letter (yes, welcome to the 1990's) from my prior broker/insurer confirming the policy arranged prior. They receive what they've requested.
Now we have them calling the prior broker who refuses to give this unknown caller any of my data without permission (OBVIOUSLY). Followed by new requests from Lancaster about 'additional' information. This, has been a DAILY event for the last 6 weeks.
I run out of patience, tell them to cancel the policy, which they do, at a cost of 90% of the policy for their make believe 'admin' fees (ironic, given that the client does most of the work).
Current state of play, they've sent none of the promised refund amount and ballsed up the calculations (in their favour, of course, wink wink) to accidentally not add in the extra several hundreds of pounds I've sent them.
I've no patience for their bait and switch behaviour, nor their absolutely incompetent customer services. As for their holding of client funds, miscalculations etc etc - well, formal complaint then straight to the regulator.
Scammy behaviour needs calling out.
