I recently have had lots of review appointments. The last one where I saw Nurse Nuala and Mr. Chris Hill.

The treatment and care I have received have been amazing from the second I walked through the doors at the initial appointment.

I am truly grateful for the care and reassurance as I recovered from surgery. All the staff are caring, courteous and friendly. I had thorough follow up checks which ensured any complications were caught early and treated.
On the day of my surgery, all nurses, anaesthesiologist and staff were warm, caring, supportive and just overall lovely.
Highly recommend Mr. Chris Hill and all the staff. I would not hesitate to received furthur treatment here.

I had to wait 20 minutes after my appointment time and my appointment was due to be 30 minutes but only lasted 20. It worried me slightly and made me wonder if I had sufficient testing completed as I have never had this nerve conduction test before and didn’t know what to expect. However the doctor was v nice and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the test.

My husband was able to park at the rear of the hospital as I was on crutches.
Seen very promptly and everything was explained in a clear manner, with the added security that if I had forgotten any questions or had any worries that I could contact the nurses directly.

My experience was made great by the super efficient process of scheduling appointment, the location, the parking, and the facility I attended.

I arrived for my appointment early and checked in . I went back to desk at approximately 10 past 3 to be told that the Dr was running late due to issues with computer .🤔 . I moved to a seat outside the Dr’s room she came out then but none one else was in the room . When my appointment over I had to wait for the prescription to be printed out at the front desk as issues with computer again . Then the prescription had to be reprinted and once again had to wait for that . The cost of this appointment was excessive for the quality of customer care . I wouldn’t use Kingsbridge again . I also had difficulty making the appointment in first place spent 40 trying to get thru on phone and the morning of the appointment . Actually called into Kingsbridge on Lisburn Rd to actually make the appointment in first place . Very poor customer service .

I never received a call back regarding post op and when I called number provided it has been ringing out and no voicemail facility.

It was very easy to organise this appointment by phone with no GP referral needed and I was very lucky to be given an appointment within 3 working days.
My consultation with Dr Mc Glinchey, Consultant Cardiologist, was definitely very worthwhile. He was very approachable and very professional and thorough. He put me at ease and allowed me time to provide him with a detailed history and he addressed all of my concerns.
I would definitely recommend the service and I would definitely recommend seeing Dr Mc Glinchey who is excellent.

Would be helpful to mention in advance I would need temporary cheap reading glasses. Not able to get proper test for 6 weeks.
I have devised a chart to remind me what drops to take when in my eye. Happy to send copy to Kingsbridge for them to give to patients in their own format.

Valentine’s Day 2026 was not spent at dinner but in theatre having my right eye upgraded with a
Tecnis PureSee intraocular lens.
After years of hyperopia (+5.25 right, +2.25 left), astigmatism, toric contact lens rotation, and
presbyopia creeping in, I finally chose refractive lens replacement.
The surgery itself lasted roughly eight minutes. I stayed calm by reciting the alphabet forwards and
backwards in my head.
The surgeon worked in focused silence while the anaesthetist, Dr McCoy from Cork, provided
well-timed distraction and humour.
There was a brief buzzing sound during phacoemulsification as the natural lens was broken up and removed.
Red swirling shapes were visible during the procedure, which is normal due to light interacting with internal tissues.
Day 1 was functional but hazy. Mild halos were present, and there was slight soreness with eye
movement once the anaesthetic wore off.
Drops prescribed included Pred Forte (steroid), Exocin (antibiotic), and Acular (NSAID), spaced
properly 3–5 minutes apart.
By Day 2, vision had improved noticeably. Halos had largely faded.
Even though the right eye was targeted more for near, distance vision was dramatically better than
pre-operatively.
Near vision was stable and improving, and the clarity felt cleaner and more stable than with toric
contact lenses.
The improvement is attributed to reduction in corneal swelling, settling of inflammation, tear film
stabilisation,
and rapid neuroadaptation due to prior experience with blended contact lens correction.
Day 3 and I feel like my “near eye” for reading is unbelievably clear. This was really the “this has worked” moment.
The second eye is scheduled for 2 March 2026. Expectations are realistic, with full binocular
summation anticipated once both eyes are aligned.
Long-term outlook: the implanted lens does not age or develop cataracts. Distance glasses are
unlikely to be needed again.
Mild readers in dim light later in life remain possible. Posterior capsule opacification, if it occurs, can be treated quickly with YAG laser.
As for Kingsbridge - couldn’t recommend highly enough all staff as “as expected” - experts in such a field and affording confidence and safety throughout. Costs around £8k for the two eyes combined including consultancy fees but my prescription is awkward, prices will move down for less complicated factors.
Overall feeling: restored to factory settings, like a human episode of The Repair Shop

The physio (Cathal) was very thorough and explained things to me clearly. I Feel I now have a plan in place to regain my strength and mobility.
Staff on the desk very helpful, friendly and professional.

The details and actual initial consultation was fine. This all went very smoothly. What is now unclear and confusing is the lack of information about the follow up tests/work. I was informed i would be called forward for further medical tests but have heard nothing and received nil information. It is as if post the initial consultation the entire process has been closed.

My operation was very efficiently managed and carried out from start to finish. I had a great surgeon Mr Gerard Kelly who explained everything about the operation beforehand and came to see me after to check everything was ok.
All staff I met were well trained and very friendly nothing was too much trouble.
I had an overnight stay at hospital and food and service I received was 1st class.
I can highly recommend Kingsbridge.
