Poor Customer Service - Wake up Kamado!
Purchased the Classic 3 from Auldton Stoves in Dunlop. the guys were great, helpful and professional.
A week or so later, I decided to purchase the Paella and Griddle pan. got it home to test it out and the griddle pan did not fit. Apparently the bowl is not circular. Just a couple of mm out, but enough to stop the griddle pan fitting properly. Spoke to the guys at Auldton and they advised I would need to go through the proper channels as it was a warranty claim. This is Kamado's policy, not Auldton's. Day or so later Kamado Joe contacted me as asked for images and a video to confirm the issue, they also requested the serial number, and this would be passed to a manager for a resolution.
Didn't hear anything back for a couple of days, and I emailed requesting an update. I was advised the bowl would be replaced, and was sent a link to a YouTube clip on how to replace it (point to note, the clip was awful and not very explanatory, just some guy mumbling abut how to do it). I watched the clip about a dozen times in preparation of the bowl arriving. Bowl arrived with instructions on how to 'disengage the hinge', unfortunately my disengagement tool was too long and would not grab the threaded bolt. Another email sent and received with advice on how to make the disengagement tool fit along with another video clip from YouTube.
I was back at Auldton the following day and was asked how I got on with the warranty claim. Advised them it has been a bit of a nightmare, and I feel disappointed and disenchanted with the service from Kamado Joe.
The guys were on it immediately, and put my concerns to rest. I was advised I would be called later the same afternoon. Issue resolved. Point to note, this was Auldton Stoves that resolved the issue, and not Kamado Joe. To be honest this should have been done first and foremost by Kamado under the warranty, not asking for images, video's and serial numbers.
Given the fact, it appears Kamado don't monitor their Trust Pilot Reviews, maybe it's about time they woke up to their shortcomings and start responding.
